The mountains seems to fall on you and the road is perfect. If you go during the week nobody is there.

Been there last year, phenomenal route. For anyone, who's in the area: combine this ascent with another one: to the ski resort Breuil-Cervinia directly underneath Matterhorn mountain. It's exactly 96km away; hundreds of great curves along the way, hotels/campsites, restaurants and quite a view when you get there.
