    What a cracking video. I started racing Cyclocross last year, having never done it before. It's absolutely bonkers and probably some of the best fun I've had on the bike. I now need to go and price up some of those components ;-)

    Hi, nice build! To make the bike "perfect" I believe you should use tubulars, like professional CX racers. By the way, Challenge makes a tool to help mount their tires.

    • @TwistedWheels
      @TwistedWheels  Před rokem +1

      Yeah, I have a similar tool. It doesn’t help with handmade tyres :)
      Tubulars are perfect for professionals, but definitely far from perfect for amateurs like me :)

    Thanks for the cool video. How would you classify the general geo of the bike? Do you think it can be ridden as a gravel bike with occasional road-only sessions? thanks :)

    • @TwistedWheels
      @TwistedWheels  Před 11 měsíci +1

      For sure. I’ve been riding gravel, cyclocross and even took it to Mallorca for road cycling (as it was lighter than my road bike at a time :)

    rim depth is not about weight. shallow rims will accelerate better than a deep rim and therefore makes a lot more sense. the weight is a very very small bonus

    • @TwistedWheels

    • @TwistedWheels

      @@Carftymk Shallow whees accelerate better because of the lower rotating mass (rims).

    • @ilanpi
      @ilanpi Před rokem

      @@TwistedWheels If the rims weigh the same, then shallow rims accelerate more slowly, as their moment of inertia is higher (mass concentrated farther from the center of rotation).

    • @TwistedWheels
      @TwistedWheels  Před rokem

      @@ilanpi this is obvious. But shallow rims are lighter (e.g. my carbon rims weigh 280g each) - that’s the whole point.
