I love turning ordinary and out-dated thrift store finds into unique and beautiful Christmas decor! In today’s video, I’ll be transforming eight and a half items from the store: baby boots, a wall clock (and the pendulum from the clock-that’s the “half”), a branchy candle stand, a drawer organizer, a hurricane lamp, a metal kerosene lantern, a wood horse, and a jewelry box. They all ended up lookimg like decor from a high end store!

I'm so glad I'm not the only one. In the past I would overthink every project and wasted too much time. Sometimes, I end up changing color several times but I'm learning to roll with it now and it's ok to change things.

Good afternoon, Bobbie! Well, we had our first snow of the year. I’m guessing you did, too. It was lovely for a few hours!
What about air dry clay, to make a new top piece for the clock? You could gently sand it smooth and glue it on and paint it. That's if you want it to look even, but I really like your idea of putting the little bird house on! Thinking outside the box!
That's a great idea! I did consider making a silicone mold to replicate the pediment with clay, but the bird house was way easier!
Air dry clay, make it! But the little birdhouse was a great choice for the missing pediment piece. Love the snowman out of the hurricane lantern. Too cute!

Hello Sherry ! I watch your videos and then make a "grocery list" for all my favorite projects & materials to look for at my thrift stores. It's a long list this week. You are the highlight of my Monday's and sometimes my week. I think this is my favorite Christmas video so far!
Oh, thank you, Jan! What a sweet sweet comment! I went thrifting today, too. My favorite thing to buy this time of the year is gallon size ziploc bags full of small trinkets and tree ornaments! I find the best vintage ornaments this way!
I was going to start a comment early in the video about how much I liked the project. THEN, the next project was even better, and the one after that even better-er! I enjoyed every one! I recently completed 4 5x7" 1' deep black shadow frames (.50 ea at a yard sale). Used 1 piece of spruce tree scrapbook paper for all 4 backgrounds. Made trees from maple twigs from the yard, added a flat white Dollar Tree Christmas tree ornament, glitter, styrofoam snow pellets, and Buffalo Snow. THEN I glued in 2 cardinals; my SO's family firmly believe that seeing a cardinal is Ma, who died a year ago, looking over them. They will love them! Your influence is rubbing off on me! Thank you!

@@CanterburyCottage don’t let it bother you. I love love books but when a book has seen it’s better days when not use it in another way. I covered an old thrifted skirt with book pages, took the hard cover for wings, covered with book page cones to shape them, even made a big flower 🌸 out of the pages to make a headpiece = book fairy.😂🤣. I have an old book, I keep forgetting I have, to be used as decoupaging the pictures. Lol, I keep forgetting about it. I think some people get to uptight. I know you would never disrespect a valuable book so hey, have fun. Your creative mind is a gift from God to be shared.
I think the snowman using the remaining parts of a kerosene lantern is my favorite. So very clever and cute.❤😊⛄️❤

What can I say, Sherry? I loved all the projects today. The hurricane lamp was just adorable. Loved the clock remake. When you placed the miniature birdhouse where the piece of the cabinet was broken, it looked as though it was made for that. So much inspiration!! I am pulling out decorations and decorating now. For the clock...use silicon 2 part mold to cast a mold of the remaining pediment. I have done this several times when a piece of trim is missing. I usually use poly clay to cast the missing pieces. Good luck!

At first I didn't get the horse with the arrow beneath, but when you put it all together, and the tissue paper is gorgeous, I understood your thinking. I bought the very same Christmas book 40 years ago for my son who was then 2yrs old. I still have that beautifully illustrated book. I couldn't bring myself to cut the book apart, but I love the projects you used the book for, they turned out fantastic.
To repair your clock piece, I would have used the broken piece as a pattern to create a new one out of air dry clay, then painted it and glued it on. I love your super cute ideas!

For the missing pediment, use air dry clay to make a mold of the existing pediment and then use the mold to make a new pediment with Amazing Casting resin. The resin can be painted to match the rest of the clock.
The lantern piece is gorgeous! The snowman is so cute, too!

My grandfather used to buy and repair old clocks- he would have used the existing pediment to create a mold out of plaster of Paris. Then he would create a new piece- once stained or painted- no one could tell
