Harrison Ford returns as the legendary hero archaeologist in the highly anticipated fifth installment of the iconic “Indiana Jones” franchise, which is directed by James Mangold (“Ford v Ferrari,” “Logan”). Like the ark in "Raiders". It aligns with stories in the bible (I guess? I never really read that part of the bible) - but all we really know is that it's an old box, and if it's opened and people look at it, they die. That would be very strange and surprising if it were real, but it wouldn't necessarily mean Yahweh is real, too.

Saw 'Raiders of the Lost Ark' in the theatre in 1981 with my best friend from school. We were so stoked afterward we asked the ticket taker if we could stay for the next showing and he let us without charge. We called our moms from the payphone outside and asked if we could see the show again. They though we were nuts but said yes. We kinda thought it was silly too, but the decades have proven we may not have been so dumb after all.

I love this story. I was born in 89 so sadly I didn't get to see any of the original 3 in theaters, and Crystal Skull wasn't as bad as it was made out to be but it definitely wasn't quite up to the standard - too much effort spent on trying to avoid his age, IMO

I think it'd be great if for Indy's final adventure, the movie breaks tradition and actually allows him to put the artefact in a museum. He's earned it.

She tries to get Indy murdered twice, by locking him in with Nazis who also want the dial to go back and kill Hitler. They find the dial, but the Nazi's steal it, so Indy and Fleabag go after the Nazis to save Hitler. They all go back to 212 BCE in WW2 Bombers because the dial only goes back to that specific point in time. One bomber gets shot down by arrows and doesn't change the past. Indy also gets shot, says let me die in peace, I have nothing to live for. Fleabag says no, you'll change the past if you die here. Fleabag then performs some elder abuse, and Indy wakes up in NY back in 1969, depressed, suicidal, and alone. Then in walks Marion, and he's then depressed, suicidal, but no longer alone.

I still cannot believe that this is going to be John Williams's final movie score, he is the main reason why I love music in the first place. He is a literal legend of music, the literal equivalent to the likes of Beethoven and others.

It’s sad to see such a great series come to an end. I know these didn’t come out when I was born or even close to it. But my dad introduced me to em so basically I grew up with em, and it’s sad to see it come to an end.

My dad took me to see Raiders of the Lost Ark in the theaters when I was 9 years old. Indiana Jones has been a part of my life for 40 years. I was absolutely 100% certain that this movie was a mistake and they were not going to be able to pull it off. As soon as the music kicked in I had goosebumps on my entire body and tears in my eyes. My dad is 82 now and this time I will be taking him to see this movie.

Yeah, I was slightly older, and remember seeing this with my Dad, however I also remember having nightmares for years from the ending of Raiders. I still can't show this to my 11 year old. I thought Temple of Doom was the best film ever made for many years growing up. It's a pity this film will destroy these fuzzy feelings with what they have planned.

I've heard this movie takes place in the year 1969 which is 33 years after the original film. So I don't think he is going to be de-aged for much of the film.

Was so great to see Harrison play Indy one last time! Loved the emotional journey Indy experienced in the story. Ending could not have been more perfect. Completely fulfilling complete circle moment. With the choices they made, gives Indy an amazing character super arc running through all five films. The man has grown and changed.

Indiana Jones is the reason for my obsession with learning different languages. Can you imagine how much more difficult his adventures would have been if he didn't speak the language of the part of the world he was in? Even at the age of six, I realized how useful such a skill can be. These movies changed me forever.
It took me a whole to realize it, but I don't think he new many other languages in Raiders. Maybe some slight german. You can tell because he looks confused at times when the Nazis are talking to him. Which makes sense because the character was still in its infancy.
I feel you man and for a while these movies got me into archeology and I did research on some things I wanted to find and history end being one my favorite school subjects

When "Raiders" came out I was in graduate school doing a degree in ancient Near Eastern studies. Always had to explain to friends and some family members why I was studying something so arcane. Then Raiders hit the big screen and suddenly I never had to explain the "why" again. 🙂

My favorite part is when he infiltrates the Nazi headquarters and fights Hitler and rips his prosthetic arm off when they roll down the stairs.
Probably the last time we see this iconic character. But at least we get one more movie of him. ❤

I just saw the movie and it was great! Having seen it, I definitely like this teaser better than the actual trailer. The actual trailer led me to believe the movie might not be as good as one would hope. Harrison Ford was incredible! Tons of action, starting from the opening scene and lasting throughout the picture. The story was really well done, and the ending was a great way to close this movie and the series. Will be going back to watch a second time in theaters.
I can’t agree more. I truly loved this film and thought it is as good as Raiders of the Lost Ark. People need to ignore all the negativity because it’s just a bunch of DeSantis trolls.

I kinda wish we got to see Jurgen succeed in going back in time to kill Hitler, and Indy having to save Hitler just to save history. But them going back in time and being attacked by Romans who thought their airplane was a dragon was pretty cool
I love the part where Indiana told that U.S. Marshal, "I didn't kill my wife!" The emotion delivered in that line was palpable!

1:12 just got back from the movie theater and this movie was incredibly amazing
Indy is now old, depressed, divorced, and suicidal after Mutt dies in Vietnam. Fleabag comes in and says lets get a dial. She tries to get Indy murdered twice, by locking him in with Nazis who also want the dial to go back and kill Hitler. They find the dial, but the Nazi's steal it, so Indy and Fleabag go after the Nazis to save Hitler. They all go back to 212 BCE in WW2 Bombers because the dial only goes back to that specific point in time. One bomber gets shot down by arrows and doesn't change the past. Indy also gets shot, says let me die in peace, I have nothing to live for. Fleabag says no, you'll change the past if you die here. Fleabag then performs some elder abuse, and Indy wakes up in NY back in 1969, depressed, suicidal, and alone. Then in walks Marion, and he's then depressed, suicidal, but no longer alone.
The End.
Agreed. The box office flop gave me doubts about this movie, but after watching it, I was blown away.
the part where Indy cracked the whip at Sallah and said, there are two types of people, the friendly ones, and the ones that betray, you're the friendly one, and pushed him off the plane gave me the chills.
The part where indy said “I belong in a museum”-👴🏻 brought literal tears to my eyes

Had low expectations tbh and knew it wouldn’t be as good as the original 3, but after seeing i was really suprised. I thought it was a solid film and end to the trilogy. The opening flashback scene was the best scene in the film and it had some great sequences. There were a few places where it felt meh but overall I came away happy and suprised

Same thoughts. When I heard it was a box office flop, I thought it had a good reason why. But no, after watching it in the cinema with my family, this movie completely subverted my expectations and I walked out of the theater with a huge smile on my face while continuously babbling with my siblings. I loved it!
Indiana Jones has always been a huge part of my life. As a kid, I remember going to school dressed up as Indiana Jones. He helped me through some of the hardest times in my life, and I’m so happy that he’s coming back to the big screen.
Its a time travel movie and young indy sacrifices himself so fleabag (the robot that fucks lando in solo) can become the new indiana jones wiping him from history

Yeah I don’t understand it. Woke or not woke, you don’t do that to a character with a legacy on his or her back. Altering history to where that character never done any of his or her adventures and out right replacing them that way should never be done with a character. Ever.
I hope you enjoy it, but I know that the story is going to ruin Indy's character so they make another Kathleen Kennedy self insert the "better and best" version of Indiana Jones. Not for me.
I already seen Indy get graped in the 4th film, no need to see it again....though apparently this one will have them graping Indy's corpse.

Looks like a Heinkel He111 which has a similar(ish) nose to a b29 on which the Falcon was based.

I watched it for the second time today and it was amazing! I do agree, Disney has done some things that I'm not proud of, but THIS movie is not one of those cases. People should actually go and see the movie rather than listen to people hate on it who also refuse to see it.
I completely agree. I’m doing everything thing I can to see it a second time because I had so much fun watching it. I know this isn’t going to happen but I’d be totally fine if Lucasfilm retired the franchise.
I know it isn’t going to happen but how awesome would it have ben if an adult “Short Round” had reunited with Indy in this film? At least we have the recent picture of Ke Huy Quan and Harrison Ford seeing each other for the first time in decades.
