WOW!!!!!!!!!! THANK YOU, FOR THIS WONDERFUL LOOK, AT THIS AMAZING SWORD!!!!!!!
Our pleasure!!
Very cool.
I love these big Japanese weapons.
I have a Nihonto Naginata from the 1660's. It is a Tokubetsu Hozon. Signed Fugiwara Kunishige Saku.
Watch out for that fan on tht ceiling, ya don't want to "hit the fan" 😁☺️😉
I'm considering Nagamaki for the length of handle. Having a longer tsuka with full tang may help with balance shift to make the blade less front heavy. Training is the key though.
Thank you for showing a beautiful sword, O-Sensei Phil Milner Hanshi was my teacher in the UK Wado Ryu, he was a great teacher, yours Tony
i had my eye on this one but chose their katana version of this
really enjoy it and this review makes me wanna grab this one as well!
Nagamaki Naoshi Zukuri is this sword, its an adjusted nagamaki, but forged that way.
constructed as a sword but functionally half way between a typical sword and a pole arm
Where did you get this one? Love the proportions
Beautiful sword! Actually had a question about the larger swords, like the nagamaki and no-dachi. How were they carried, when not in use? Obviously not in the obi, so were they just held in-hand, or perhaps slung over the shoulder? I’ve always been curious about it.
I saw an info, there were two possible ways to carry it. On the back or sheathed in the hand. There were assistants (or how to call it) who helped to draw the swords. Not sure if it´s a truth.
Nagamaki blades aren't much longer than a standard katana so you can carry them around like normal.
The handle just sticks out further.
Actually, because the cg is much closer to and sometimes in the handle itself if it's a really long handle, it's even easier to draw.
The one I use has the balance point where I put my front hand making drawing and swinging it really easy even though it weighs like 2.5kg or something
@@Rose_Butterfly98 isn't the handle too heavy to carry it like a normal katana? Like, doesn't it make it wanna tilt handle down?
Awsome sword!! , Can I ask you sir to do a brief history video on difference of the samurai periods? I really enjoy your content. :) not be be lazy without looking it up but its just more entertaining in your format. Have a great day
Thank you, Darryl. That might be a good subject for a future video. Will take some serious time, preparation and research. Running a full-time school, I do not have much video time as of late.
@@thedojomartialarts Sounds good, I've got all the bells and whistles on incase it happens.... :)
3:10 it’s not a nagamaki, it’s a naginata with a short handle. The blade of naginata isn’t like these of katana, tachi, nagimaki.
Absolutely Awesome and Beautiful sword!!!!
How has this sword held up. Are you happy with its performance?
Still holds up, nicely. Yes. It is sharp and retains its sharpness. Thank you!
Not a sword connoisseur here - when was it made and by whom?
I wanted to ask this question if anyone can answer what is the absolute biggest a nagamaki can get?
No, they definitely get much bigger. This is barely even a nagamaki.
sorry , why u touch it ?
Swords are literally meant to be touched. How would you otherwise use, practice with, clean or admire them?
