Dens park main stand isn't "bent" because of greyhound racing. Stand was designed by the great Archibald leitch and was opened in 1921......before greyhound racing. It's bent to mirror the road outside the ground. The stand had a capacity of 11,592......about the same as the whole ground today. Stand 3400, reserved 1184, directors 120, press 48, enclosure 6840....total 11,592. Stand opened v Ayr 17/9/1921 with an attendance of 20,000. Many famous grounds designed by leitch.....including Hampden, Windsor park, Twickenham, Goodison, Ibrox, parkhead, white heart lane Stamford bridge, st James, rocker, the dell, molineux and craven cottage.

If you want to see 2 "very big stadiums stuck side-by-side", check-out the stadiums of Independiente and Racing Club of Avellaneda, both Clubs located just South of Buenos Aires, not far from La Boca neighborhood, the C.A.I (Club Atletico Independiente) play at the Liberadores Stadium (48,000) and Racing play at the Cilindro de Avellaneda a.k.a Presidente Peron (61,000) with a record attendance of 120,000 against Scottish Giants Celtic, both grounds need a little bit of a "makeover" particularly "el cilindro", but they don't need to be "moved" to another location, to another barrio, to another dimension, to a bigger stadium, but with smaller dimensions.
OK Wales stadium wise has unusual ones. 1. Chester Stadium. Most of it is in Wales whilst a part if it is in Engand 2. Principality Stadium/Cardiff Arms Park. OK years ago the Principality Stadium was called Cardiff Arms Park. But these days it is Cardiff Blues ground that has the name. OK you are thinking they are 2 stadiums right. Well yes they are. Re Cove Rangers - the Google imagery shot is from the seasons before the Championship = if you see the 'snow clearing' shot @ 2:12 -2:16 you will notice the seats with temporary looking roof - both areas behind the goals now have these - added for Championship season (may be short lived)
Like many Scottish football fans I've been to all of these. Ayr and Arbroath in particular are great places to watch games. A few wee points: There's a nursery in one of the stands at Hamilton Accies. During the week they use part of the concourse alongside the pitch as a playground. I like to think of their kids as the future Academicals. Moray Firth is pronounced Murray Firth. All of Scotland is Caledonia, not just the north. There's a woman's football team called Edinburgh Caledonia. It's from the name the Romans gave to (at least one of) the indigenous tribes. In Scottish place names -ch- is almost always pronounced hard, in the Germanic way. And it's a hard o. So it's closer to Oakilview. The Ochils are the very prominent hill range you see from the Falkirk, Stirling area.
@andrew johnston, they actually have terraces opposite the main stand. They just haven't used them in a very long time, even has a toilet block in it, that the ends don't have.
Starks park is unusual in that a train goes past really close to the stand opposite the funny shaped main stand. They can’t modernise the railway stand as a result.
Firhill Stadium as our humble narrator states has that bolshy choodesny Colin Weir stand but behind the one end has that ooshazzny flatblock behind the stand that looks like its from A Clockwork Orange. I think I liked Stark's Park and Coppielow the best.
@@viewfield5 thumbs up it can be hard to judge from a few pics I admit. I can tell it needs some major refurbishment. I like the the stadiums that have stands nice and close to the pitch to create a nice atmosphere. I liked seeing the dock cranes in the background too but I think if we are being honest all the grounds in this league need some work.

He was going to call it Glasgow Hibernian, but decided on Celtic since Celtic could refer to both Ireland and Scotland uniting the people. Dundee United also used to be called Dundee Hibernian and was founded under similar circumstances but no longer has the Irish connection like the other two.
Some interesting attempts at pronouncing the names of the grounds !! The Cove Rangers comment about the Queen, she actually passed away at Balmoral Castle which is an estate 70mins west of where Cove Rangers are based and they originate from an area just south of Aberdeen called Cove Bay. Would love to have heard you try pronounce the town where Raith Rovers play lol

Yeah, Dens has slightly higher capacity but we're in the Premier now 😉
Queen's Park are only short term tenants at Ochilview until Wee Hampden completes refurbishment.

Absolutely love the Inverness CT stadium. Very nicely designed main stand, great location and all seater! Looks very modern compared to some of these!
thats because it was only opened in the mid 90's , then changed to an all seater in 2004
The two end stands are cheap staging type and thrown up in a few weeks.

Caledonia is actually just the Roman name for all of Scotland, and Hibernia is Ireland, hence Hibs fc.
Is Hibs a club founded by Irish immigrants then? Is similar to the Celtic Irish connection in Glasgow?
