I would have said by the look of board, that pin 5 would be not connected and pin 6 would have been new pad.

That was so cute that she gave you some nice jam and the big smile on your face. It’s such a nice cherry on top of customer service in repair. I once received a bottle of nice wine for fixing a customers photocopier, and I like to pay it forward with the people that repair my car with doughnuts or cookies, lol. They always enjoy that. It’s a special environment with customers and their techs :)

I leave my Razer Advanced laptop plugged in nearly all the time, so I disconnected the battery to keep it healthy. While doing this, I noticed how incredibly TINY these components are that Alex is dealing with! Holy hell, you can barely see them with the naked eye. With seeing what he's doing with the microscope view, you can't fully appreciate how intricate and precise he is. Alex, you would've made a great surgeon.

I have also replaced this connector on a iMac. Several of the pads were missing also.
The wire I used to repair them was a bit thinner.
The customer lost the flex cable and at the time a replacement was hard to find.
I ordered the plastic housings and some wires with pre crimped terminals from Digikey.
Then I reverse engineered the connections to find the LVDS pairs and twisted these wires.
It seemed to work perfectly. Probably cheaper than buying a cable.

And on the 3rd part i was relieved. Congrats on not buying. The market is going to crash soon and you will get the house at 60% price. As of this video. Amazing as always.

Exposing to bright light.. its been about 5 years that im repairing electronics.. the problem is my eyes keeps itching time to time and its hard to see bright light and focus on tiny components.. i dont see you wearing glasses most of the time.. how do you manage your health😀?

Like all of us you might just be getting older... the eyes naturally loose focus over time. Try and get fitted for a pair of glasses, even if they don't need to be very strong it makes a big difference for precision work requiring concentration.
