“I told you today I didn’t need a governess. Well, maybe I do.” What a poignant line. She realizes that although she’s come of age, she still needs a mother. Little does she know she’s speaking these words to her future mother.
Yes, also when they did the filming Charmaine Carr spent alot of time with Julie Andrews since they were only about 7 years apart. This movie was so fantastic and sadly enough many of them couldn't live their roles down. Nicholas Hammond was on the 1970's Crime Drama Cannon.
@@manuelorozco7760 this is my personal favorite Julie Andrews movie that she’s done Mary Poppins is good and I know that’s the one she won a Oscar for but this one I guess I’m biased to cause it’s the first one I ever saw of her
I’m glad that Liesel and Maria become really wonderful friends, especially when she’s snuck out in the middle of the night, especially when she’s with her boyfriend. I love that’s when she’s realizes that she does need a governess after all when they are really wonderful friends, she loves her. Jennydebrier
I’m 30 and have seen this beautiful movie 10 times. It’s a semi holiday viewing tradition. I discovered it in grade school but grown to respect it as a college student.
I’m glad that Liesl and their governess Maria became really wonderful friends especially when she’s admitted she does need a governess after all, especially since the kids really grew to love her. Jennydebrier
Im 20 and I always heard that Julie was a legend but I've only ever seen her newer roles so after watching this and Mary Poppins I definitely agree she is an industry gem.
I know how you feel. MP was my first glimpse of her talent when I was a kid. In my preteen years was when she made her big come back with the Princess Diaries and the Shrek movies. I was surprised seeing her on TV and still so beautiful for her age in the 2000’s. But then I sat down to watch this classic as a teenager. I watched just for Julie. But didn’t know what layed in store that made this movie so popular decades later. Then I was surprised how she did her accent voicing Gru’s mom in the Despicable Me. I really thought it was nut house level insane that a supervillain who adopts three orphans would be as big of an animated hit in 2010’s as Frozen.
Well did she already found Adele yet in window was part of her dream first time she hasn’t been there before she was born to it she was only child to be here Liesl found Adele
Liesl's expression when she says Luisa can climb up the wall with a jar of spiders is so precious hahaha
She looks like she's proud of her sister.
