  • Adding life and rounds to a gun that has become very popular for its concealability. The problem with small guns has been their limited rounds for the gun. Sig 365 has challenged this positions by creating a small double stack and increasing rounds. This is a way to add rounds and not buy a new gun.

    I've had the Magguts +1 system in several 7 and 8 round magazines for over 3 years now. I didn't want anything with a larger footprint than the factory and the +1 kits were perfect for me. I ran 500 rounds through each before relying on them as my carry mags and I've got well over 2K rounds on each without a single malfunction at this point. I'm very happy with my purchase and while it wasn't the easiest install, it certainly wasn't difficult. I believe there's a V3 out now if anyone is interested in an improved version.

      I added Pearce +1's to both my .40 mags, but, livin in tha PRK, I wanted as much extra bang as I could get. Emailed Magguts, and they said they hadn't tested with any other extension device, and I was on my own. So! Everything that follows is totally without Magguts's blessing, and should not be construed as a real review.
      Decided to go for it! Install went ok, but tha Magguts springs def feel ali'l "squirrely", and, due to their sharp edges, they don't exactly feel smooth. At 1 point, I was loadin with my Maglula, and pushed down to ensure it was full, and the follower rolled, in tha mag, and got caught. I got it out, but that waza pretty big red flag.
      Also, tha rounds seem to be "dippin" abit, in tha 7rd mag, whose capacity has been increased to 9 via use of Pearce extender and Magguts. The case rims are catchin on tha front lip of mag, when I push rounds outta tha mag w/my thumb. Rounds seem to eject ok when rackin slide, manually, but it also seems much harder to rack, in this config. Considerin removin some material, but I wanna make sure this won't allow tha rounds to dip even lower.
      Have yet to do any live fire testing. Fire closures in SoCal, n I hate ranges. Hopin for some reasonable temps intha desert soon...
      Wish me luck! 🤞

    I had 4 8-rd Shield mags modified with the MagGuts +2 kit (Gen1). They did not consistently lock the slide back after the last round. I think the Z-spring does not provide enough tension for the follower to push the slide stop up to lock the slide back when the mag goes empty. So I moved the MagGuts +2 kit to the 7-rd Shield mags. Since the 7-rd mag is shorter the Z-spring is compressed more, thus providing extra push to the follower. The 7+2 mag worked better in locking the slide back when it goes empty. However, after 18 months being used for daily carry the 7+2 modified mags are now losing their ability to lock the slide back after firing the last round. I think the Z-spring is losing its strength much more quickly than the standard coil spring. So I now just use the extended floor plate and the plate lock from the +2 kit in the magazine with the factory follower and spring. This combination gives me +1 capacity with much higher functional reliability. I think the Z-spring is just not a suitable replacement for the factory coil spring in terms of tension and long term wear.

      @geoff_tac  Před 4 lety

      Thanks for the comment, I have heard this from other people as well. I have had zero problems with mine and I test it periodically. Its in my carry gun so I don't always shoot this one but this kind of information is helpful to others.

    • @ozysjahputera7669
      @ozysjahputera7669 Před 4 lety +3

      @@geoff_tac I usually practice with my carry gun (Shield) every other month. So I noticed right away when these mags with +2 magguts started failing to lock the slide back when they go empty. I contacted MagGuts about this and their reply was simply "it should work". They do not stand behind their product in any long term sense. Once your 30-day period is up then you are on your own. Since I am stuck with 4 Z-springs and 4 metal followers, I am trying to see if using them as a +1 kit in a 7-rd mag will work better. So I ordered a +1 lock plate from MagGuts which is designed to work with the factory flush floor plate. My logic is, the Z-spring may get more compression when installed in a 7-rd magazine with standard flush fitting floor plate.This may make it more reliable in terms of locking the slide back. Once I got the lock plate I will give it a test and share the results here.
      But for now, I would stay away from the Z-spring for long term use if you want complete functional reliability. In my case, 18 months of having these Z-spring compressed in loaded magazines was enough to reduce its tension to cause slide lock back failure in all 4 magazines.
