Hope you are having a nice time at PAX. I don't suppose you'd ever consider playing Golden Sun: The Lost Age? It's a direct continuation of Golden Sun ... the same way that LOTR Return of the King is a direct continuation of Fellowship of the Ring and Two Towers. In fact, your GS save file transfers over to The Lost Age, too. It's essentially Golden Sun but just better (and less end game grinding, too).
i played the series last year the first time and i loved jak one. jak 2 was soooo hard but i loved it to after i beat it and broke my controller because i didnt cheat. jak 3 i played to 65 % but it was way more boring and not interesting and after i needed 24 hours just to complete jak 2 casually i gave up and just watched the cutzenes
megaman zero when
You would do well with a Maximo video. We need a 3rd game. The whole genre disappeared.
It's unfortunate that the Jak & Dax easter egg in Ratchet and Clank Rift Apart is the most exciting J&D anything we've gotten in years. Really would love to see a revival of this series.
I wouldn't. Jirard is very positive, but, personally? Jak II and III occupy that same awkward artistic realm as Shadow the Hedgehog or Vexx. Where they're self-consciously way EDGIER than a normal platformer or furry series, but not in any way where they pierce through to actual maturity, like, for recent examples in both descriptions, Psychonauts 2 or Fuga: Melodies of Steel.
@@Volvagia1927 I would just love to see a remake trilogy like they did with Spyro and Crash. This is the one series I missed out on and I would love to have some sort of access to them.
@@philipsparks6089 they do have ports via the hd collection on various playstation platforms but because how they originally made the game theres a lot of jank
Jak & Daxter really does need a reboot.
@@BorderFreak The only jank the hd collection has is that the punch button will somtimes make you go a complete wrong way which is only annoying if you're a speedrunner and it doesn't happen all that often. The ps4 ports are pretty bad though since that's using a bad emulation version while the hd collection is completely rebuilt for the ps3.
YES. Finally someone is talking about this series!
Check out j’s reviews he didn’t the whole series
You couldn’t escape these games being talked about when they came out
Just came to comment this. One of the greatest games ever
Omg yes! Since TLOU series and naughty dog getting some spotlight I’m really hoping for some refreshing take on this series 😭
@@VastFuture I distinctly remember walking into Blockbuster as a wee boy and seeing Jak and Daxter posters up in the video game section for several years. I never played them because I was a nintendo kid, and I still have 0 way to play them😭
I actually screamed “YES” after seeing this on my feed.
This series needs a comeback.
Dude, playing jak 3 and getting unlimited everything was some of the most fun me and my friends had
Interesting fact: Jak 3 was Naughty Dog's first implementation of their trademark facial capture technology. Pretty cool to think that Jak 3 was a technological precursor to Uncharted.
Precursor, nice.
Huh? For as good as the animations are in general and lip syncing, Jak 3 is identical here to Jak 2 and it's on par with what Ratchet was doing anyway
@@raresmacovei8382 I agree. It's not really that impressive in Jak 3, but I guess Naughty Dog saw the potential in the technology, which is probably why they refined it for later games.
@@raresmacovei8382 They implemented new facial structure rigs in Jak 3. Apparently a lot of the reccuring chracters stil use the old rig(s), but I believe it was some of the _newer_ characters like cyber erol , kleiver and veger seem to be utilising this 'newer' technology. I believe one of the animator devs brings this up in the one of cutscene commentaries ('secret' unlockable in game).
Jak and Daxter is such an underrated series. This series needs a sequel.
They were literally making Jak 4 but I guess it got out of hand with too many ideas and they felt like they lost the core of the series during that development, so they shelved it and pivoted to new IPs based on those new ideas. Those IPs turned into both Uncharted and TLOU.
Seeing how incredible Metroid Prime turned out, many games from that era need a revival lol.
YES.
Such as...
This was one of my favorite series as a kid. It was so different than anything else. An elvish race on an unknown planet, which is actually the second intelligent civilization in this planet, the first being the Precursors. Nothing is known about them and they only know they existed at all because of the Bronze Artifacts fossilized in the ground. Fucking genius man.
Potentially in a binary star system too. There's a bright green star in Jak and Daxter's sky
Jak 3 is incredible and absolutely deserved a revival, no question at all. The game and series is just so insanely good and fun..I'm surprised there's not more love for it.
Jak and Daxter and Sly Cooper are my go-to nostalgia games. Even speedran the latter for a while, and I still hope that they'll finish off what they started with the cliffhanger at the end of the 4th game.
I adore Jak and Daxter, too, so it'd be fun to see a revival of this series.
Both franchise deserves a comeback, especially in a time where old games are getting sequels and Remakes
I've always wanted to play Sly Cooper but never got around to it. I wanted to get the collection on PS3 but apparently they replaced original music with new music exclusive to the PS3 collection. Not that its anything drastic enough to stop someone from playing but its a bit annoying that they decided to do that.
I freaking love Jak and Daxter, especially 2 and 3!!! Can't wait to get into this video!!!!
Jak and Dexter is my childhood I will never stop playing it
Wanna bet?
@@chreafkra what tf are you gonna do about it?
@@Silver-Nao Nothing....
Death will stop everyone from playing :3
Jak 3 is genuinely in my top 5 favourite games of all time, this series means the freaking world to me
ive been telling my friends jak 4 needs to come out next it feels like the perfect time for a back to form ratchet-like game from naughty dog!
Jak 3 holds a special place in my heart, it was my first platinum trophy back in the day
did you orb glitch like everyone else tho? :P
@@RodniDemental you mean the code at the start menu? Nope didn't find out about it until much later, I just enjoyed the challenge of finding everything
@@truemessedmind3744 Nah, not the debug cheats, there's that infinite orb glitch that those who know -- know what they did :P
I just assume everyone else did becaues the completion ratios are kinda high for jak 2 and 3 (especially 2 which I considered a much harder game to 'complete').
So i blindly accuse anyone who brags about completion of jak games just in case they cheated (and observe how they react). No one has ever admitted to using orb glitch to me btw (or debug for that matter), so it's entirely possible everyone isn't _secret cheaters_ and the games are easier than I like to think. XD
@@RodniDemental no not in Jak 3.... I did in Jak 2 though, but I don't think I got platinum in Jak 2, never finished the story in the 2nd.... Only 1 and 3 (number one is easy)
@@truemessedmind3744 well, good job! I always found paxter mini game high score to be the hardest part Jak 3. :D
I can’t stress enough how much this series means to me and my gaming history!!
Thank you for making this! Jak and Daxter needs more love! It def is still impressive that the game looks good to this day. I'm glad you mention this.
My favorite childhood games. And as someone else commented - "Finally someone is talking about this series!" :)
Jak X is an incredibly fun game though and has a surprisingly good story. Easily my favorite racing game. Don't sleep on it...
I tried it and literally could not control the vehicles for shit. It's so goddamned slippery, and if you hit the tiniest bump, your vehicle careens off course and sends you into a wall or obstacle.
YES!! Holy crap thank you for talking about the Jak & Daxter sequels !
The way I jumped in my chair when I saw this pop-up on my home page... God I adore this series so much and I'm so happy to see it covered like this.
Open maps, the gun system and the cool cars make this one of the best PS2 games.
Beam Reflexor 2 OP pls nerf
Jak 3 is one of my favorite games of all time. Hundreds of hours of my childhood were devoted to it
Yes! More Jak attention!
I often dream about a Breath of the Wild-style reboot for the Jak series...
I literally never would have expected this video but I'm SO happy you did this and Jak & Daxter are such a phenomenal series!!!!
The OpenGOAL project really brought me back to life with these games. Been re playing the first on native PC, been playing the 2nd and 3rd on emulation because I CANT WAIT to play them in openGOAL quality.
This game trilogy is goated and I love it.
Jak & Daxter on pc was such a superior experience that I'm willing to wait. Hopefully 2 isn't that far off
@@Amra.. blows me away what they managed to do and are doing.
Thanks jarred I thought I was the only one to have Jak 3 as my favorite ❤️
I have to do a big shout-out to breadsword's essay on the series here, thank you both for remembering why this series and the time period was so special for us. You rock!!!
I would really love a JAK 3 revival because that would be really awesome and tons of fun.
Man I love this series so much. It's been years since I've revisited them but I think I'm gonna go through them all in a row after seeing this video!
I loved Jak 3 as a kid, but it never topped Jak 2 for me.
Finally! Brings a warm feeling inside to have this series get the spotlight. Although can’t say I feel confident that this series will get a true sequel or remaster type of treatment. Naughty dog have had plenty of chances to do that and missed every single one.
the Jak series is so near and dear to my heart, I recently beat them all (psp games excluding) and I already want to go back through them again. I really hope we can get a true revival
I love watching you complete games. It's extraordinary. But When you really delve into these kinds of things it's why I continue to watch. I honestly am baffled at how you find the time. You're stuff has always been fantastic, and for this reason I am going to be grabbing merch and subscribing to your Patreon. I don't know why it's taken me this long. Please keep it up! Take care, dude!
Hearing that music right at the start of the video made me shiver, such a flood of nostalgia, ive played this game countless times.
It's fun looking back at the cutscenes for 2 and 3 as you can really see Naughty Dog coming into their cinematic chops. The series is a basically a lovechild of Crash's platforming and Uncharted's Storytelling.
Yes finally, this series needs a revival👍
Been waiting for this one, im glad you finished the series
He still has Jak X lmao
@@eagletsnupper7876 didn't know if he'd do it
@@eagletsnupper7876X was bullshit
Never really understood the hype around The Last Of Us myself, but I have very fond memories of Jak 2 & 3, so I'd love to see Naughty Dog return to this gem of a series sometimes.
One of my favorite video games from my childhood, I played it for hours and hours and I can't wait to play the whole series again some day.
I think Jak 2 and 3 are WHY I am good at video games. They kicked my ass quite frequently back then
Good memories honestly~
FINALLY! Been waiting for this
Just saw this on my feed I have waited years for Jak 3 episode! Instant like. Watching now😊
just want to say i appreciate you adding the timer bar to the pax plug, as i dont live in the usa, so it was pleasant to not have to guess.
Just started replaying jak 2 the other day and now this comes to my feed. Can't wait to get back into 3 after I finish 2. Love it. Plz naughty dog. Jak and Daxter deserve some love.
I've been seeing a rise of Jak content wnd to finally see someone like you give it the love it deserves gives me hope. I've been praying since I was a kid for another Jak Game. Jak X is also worth checking out!
Naught dog are so underrated and as a Nintendo boy I didn't think you'd go for this character platformer. But there's so much content in this game (a personal favourite from my childhood) that it's a perfect fit, and a s usual you killed it J!
Jak 3 was my childhood
Loved watching this i played through all 3 of them with my grandma as a child, i own them now on ps4 and really appreciate the fact they're just straight ports with juat improved res
To me, Jak3 still is one of the best games i have ever played. And there's been a lot i played over the years. The characters, the story, the looks and design, the music and dialogues, the fun gameplay, all of it just sticks to me like almost nothing else. I still love to revisit this game after years and years on my trusty ps2 and i'm glad they ported it to newer consoles❤
And yes, Ashlin was my first kind of childhood crush...
Never thought you’d get to this one! Glad I’ll get to watch it when I get home!
Being a Genesis and then PS2 kid, I adored Jak and Daxter and Ratchet and Clank and Spyro and Crash! And totally agree they should continue the Jak series!
Finally ahhhhhhh!!!! Been waiting for this for years!!!!!
I was obsessed with jak and daxter back in the ol ps2 days!! I replayed those games like a dozen times lol, im so glad jirard enjoyed em!
I just bought a new PS4 and played through Jak 1-3 and X again I started at 3 and I'm now completing 1. I still remember watching my older brother beat Jak 3 in our attic long ago
Been waiting years for this one!
1:54 Im too late for the shirt by a few months , but i love you too
Great video! I grew up playing this game but never played any of the others in the series
That's crazy, literally was just talking about how amazing Jak and Daxter was, and just started replaying 3 and I get this notification! Wild world
I would not say it's a hot take to say you like Jak 3 the best. It really refined what they did in the previous games. The entire trilogy just has each game building off of what the previous one did.
I also enjoy that you added your completionist rating to the ending as well. Though it would be nice to hear Smash man state the rating at the end and show it. I always liked the punchiness of those endings.
Not a hot take at all, lol. Many people like 1, many people like 2, many people like 3.
Been on a Jak bender last few days. Funny to see this uploaded- I really hope this series comes back somehow.
Loved Jak and Daxter 2/3 and even X. Never got into the first one. Sure it was quirky but it didnt suck me into the world like 2 and 3 did. X, well, I just got lost in awesome soundtrack while doing laps. Very zen once you played it enough.
Something you said about 5:25 in. Yeah it wasnt an open world per se...but the world felt AMAZING. Lived in. Real. Drew me right in. Spent so much time just wandering the city or doing flips in the park and other areas. Or driving in the wastes and walking in that freaking sand tossed town.
EDIT: Caddicarus and Completionist. I had no idea I needed this in my life until now.
I have been waiting for this game on here for a while
This is my favorite game of my childhood i played it so many times got it when i was in 1st grade and i didnt even have a memory card at the time but i thought jak sas so cool this game holds such a special place in my heart
It's crazy to think that the same guys behind the Last Of Us and Uncharted also made Crash bandicoot and Jak and Daxter
I effing LOVE the Jak Series! Still can’t get my head round that the franchise is 20 years old!
This just popped up in my recommended after replaying all 3 main games. I wholeheartedly agree we need more
I really hope they bring back the Jak and Daxter series, especially with today’s technology. It would look amazing.
woahhh that intro goes hard af
The ad for the meetup with Jirard and Caddi features live footage of Caddi editing one of his videos.
I love the structure of these reviews, such an amazing improvement. I don't even care about this game but watched it all. Good work
Great job on the video guys you did amazing work
OMG I’ve been waiting so long for someone to talk about this, and you talking about it gives me hope, thank you!!!
#BringbackJak #jakanddaxter
I was a Playstation-less child but even when I first played the games a few years ago they’re still a blast that really brought me back to that point in time. love those guys :)
THANK YOU! This series needs a goddamn revival or remaster!
I like that little quote by Amy for Jak 3 because that's my exact opinion of it; it's like a better feeling Jak 2. Not to say Jak 2 feels bad, but 3 is just refined and has more to it.
Caddy! it was nice seeing him pop up
Jak is super game series. I got Jak 2 first, and then accidentally got the 1st game second, because I got worried that I would miss the 3rd game. These games really shaped my taste for drama and comedy, with seeing Fullmetal alchemist around the same time built-up the tension that lead me towards anime. I have to say that there isn't anything else like these two. Maybe one or two close ones, but the tension in those media still let it take shape in different from.
Jak games had that certain comfyness with sense of urgency with its own spice.
Im thankful for the recommendation CZcams gave me
Ohhh man I got a huge wave of anxiety just watching that brief scene of Daxter on that damned rocket hahaha
I still love that intro.
I was just thinking this exact thing last night. Crazy.
Bro I never expected the completionist to play Jak 3 I am so fucking hype for this video
Ashelin praxis was my game crush 😅😅😂
Was waiting for this video for so damn long why did this take so so long
9:53 and Jak 3 gave us 80 missions compared to what we got in Jak 2. And the first mission of Jak 3 is the opening cutscene.
The fact that i have seen so much content of jak 3 in the last week means times are changeing i feel it in my bones we will have something new soon id bet money on it
I wish I would have given Jak 3 a try when I was a kid. I got stuck on a delivery mission when I was a kid, then tried again with the remaster as an adult and got stuck on the same mission. I kept telling myself that to play Jak 3, I needed to finish Jak 2, and I love the game, but some of those missions are brutal!
I would absolutely love a remake of this trilogy! It's still a favorite of mine all these years later.
Thanks for making This :)
i played jak so much as a kid. i never got tired of it for the longest time. if its never getting a proper sequel, it needs a real, full HD remake, not just an HD upscale it already has. Id buy that in an instant
Another ND classic, I think you'll be pleasantly surprised with the follow up game/spinoff Jak X. Definitely one of my favorite "Kart racers" ever made
Jak and Daxter is my favorite series of all times. I don't think there's any other games I've put as many hours into as those. I'm so glad to see people still talking about them and I would give anything for Naughty Dog to acknowledge them and show them some love and attention again.
Jak 3 was my childhood. I fully believe we see another jak game in the next 3 years
I can't get the shirt as much as i want to. Most of my splurge money went into indiland and my car. BUT I do love you, Jirard, you are awesome!
Great video as always tovg jirard glad you got a refresher game because I know now day modern games take a arm and a leg complete
My favourite game of all time excited for this one
I remember queuing up to buy this on release day as a teenager! That was when a £20 note would buy you a finished and working game.
YES!
Thank you for making such a awesome video!
I’m glad you enjoyed the Jak and Daxter series and hope you enjoy Jak X & Daxter on PSP.
