    You guys are awesome! Thank thank thank you for the support and love! LOVED the Celebrity Death match reference, I can totally see that. It's fun to watch the progression of this podcast. This was such a good reaction video! The follow up song to this is "Parpaing" with the Mario sounding noises at the end of the video. My fav. song off the album bc they feature the almighty CORPSEGRINDER.
    Can't wait for the next video guys.

    Trip hop: Massive Attack. Specifically, Mezzanine.
    While Igorrr is indeed French, they don't actually sing in French. Apparently, they made up a language called Xööx öxxö or something.

      Portishead and Tricky also were big in the trip hop scene. Glad you mentioned MA. Big fan of that group.

    Listen to animals as leaders. They’re a prog instrumental band. The brain dance, physical education, CAFO and the woven web are all good songs by them. Edit: point to point and another year are REALLY good.

    • @ArsenicAndEspressoPodcast
      @ArsenicAndEspressoPodcast  Před 4 lety +1

      First off thank you for the view! We definitely underappreciated igorrr on the initial listen. This stuff is insane and unlike anything either of us have heard before. The Korn comparison was based on two things. First a prominent bass guitar. I feel that gets drowned out in many metal bands. Second their willingness to play and sound how they want to regardless of the mainstream. Obvious they are two completely different sounds/and talents. Hopefully that does better justice for the song. Thank you for the comment!

    What do you think about the whole Spirituality and Distortion record? Personally i found out that it is actually not so bizarre as this video might suggest. Other music video for that record (Downgrade Desert) has completely different vibe and some people even call it "boring". That video reminded me works of other french genius - Jean Giraud (damn, i search in google in russian to recall how his name is spelled in french) .

    Surface-level observations here. Spaceship carrying the brain looked like dude's head. He was also the guy with the airplane dress. At one point the brain was chained up, but it broke loose. With the general theme of discord, my half-assed guess is: actual drugs.
    Drugs destroying a city and leading to self destruction. Dude was maybe bored of life, being chained up as an office worker or some shit, so he went off and ruined himself with hardcore drugs.
    Don't take this too seriously, I'm just bored.

  • @megatwingo
    @megatwingo Před 4 lety +6

    Constructive critics from me: You definitely interrupted the video much too often for relative uninteresting and long winded remarks. Including uninteresting stuff like you trying to sit right on your chair during one of the interruptions etc.
    Interrupting once or twice is allright. But not twelve times (at least it felt that way) for a relative long time wihout doing or saying something interesting in those long interruptions.
    Sorry for complaining...but maybe that helps for making better reactions in the future.
    Your segment after the song was very good. Doing some research about the artists and the song is always a sign for one of the better reviewing channels. After the song it is allright. But not every five seconds DURING the song.
    Recommendation for a reaction:
    The band/project "Die Kreatur" with their song "Die Kreatur".
    Greetings

    you missed out on the experience by stopping every 5 seconds. It is all about sensory overload. You not supposed to be able to process it.

    All that pausing and talking what was just distracting small talk really, TOTALLY spoils your taking in the effect of the video. It relies on your attention to have the strange effect (which is not much different to gaslighting, which is mental abuse. But there are some bits of it that are kinda strange and cool if experienced without an attacker... does that make sense? Watch it in silence and nice and loud , maybe with a joint or something..
