The show had the chance to redeem itself when darryl accidentally shattered the tank at Jim's work in season 9. The overstocking in the fish tank is maddening. I can see the humour in the scene but they could have used an object instead of electrocuting the 10 large fish in a 10-15 gallon tank. I'm not even sure it had a filter heater ect they could have also been saltwater fish. I really do hope the fish had a large tank to go back to and wasnt actually electrocuted
So Low key I want a gecko now haha. Edit - the Chinese algae eater was rehomed to me with the large angel and he has been a model citizen for the months I have had it! I do like to stalk him at night though just to make sure he is on his best behavior haha

I’ve watched The Office from season 1 to 9 about 20 times, that might even be an understatement. I can quote entire episodes from memory. Also, Michael actually flushed the piranha down the toilet in the office
As a northerner, yes chris. Up that way is definitely temperate, then you get to th mid and lower half of the usa, which becomes semi tropics. We still get winter here, just like up north. Only difference is usually we get less snow than if we still lived up north.

Huh. Ive just noticed. Not one single time ever have i seen a tank with potted plants at its side as accent pieces like what i do for my bonsai and tanks.
I have a 3 and a half inch comet goldfish, and he's housed in a ten gallon by himself. He's been In it since he was a tiny baby, and I'm very pretty sure he needs a larger tank. It is well filtrated by a hang on the back filter, and the water is always crystal clear. He's a healthy and active fish, but I'm just not so sure about the tank size. My father thinks that a ten gallon is good (definitely better than a bowl lol), and that a 20 gallon is just More to clean. Should I try and convince him to let me switch my goldie over to a 20 gallon?
Just to let you know (living near Pennsylvania,) most of us heat our houses to a minimum of 68. So while it may be possible to go without a heater you will not be able to keep it consistent
I could see Dwight doing the "you know they need a 20 gallon" Honestly my headcanon is that Michael starts keeping a fish in the paper company arc because he used to keep a fish bowl in his office, and every time the fish would die, Michael would blame something, Dwight would politely explain the nitrogen cycle and offer him a cycle 20 gallon, so Michael got very upset and out of spite stopped keeping a fish until he stopped working with Dwight. That's why Dwight has a 20 gallon. Then again I could also see him lecturing about his 7-year-old arowana in a old bathtub. He would brag about the number of attempts. Keep in mind this is the guy who patented a method for making seven full-size burgers or 14 sliders out of horse meat without killing the animal. His specialty is beet husbandry.
In defense of the no heater in the tank.. . If you heat the room, you probably don't need to hear the tank as well. But I'd guess, it would be a pretty warm room. Maybe Dwight was cold on the time to begin with?
You should have so many more subs in my op. You dive deep in alot of issues and also more than anything interact with your subs. I am glad i found your channel, now im binging all your videos

Besides the FTR, I like the videos about aquascaping and plants. Betta is very pretty. I like watching feeding videos. Learning much as I can to care for the plants so in turn, they can help out my future fish. 😁
Don’t worry, the fish abuse in the office is completely satire. It’s supposed to show how clueless Micheal is with most of life and how much Dwight is like a Bond villain. No fish are likely harmed in the making of this show as even the goldfish shown in it are replaced with very different ones each episode.
Do the money hiest goldfish tank next!!! and make sure you do it from different scenes in the show, because sometimes the waters green and sometimes its crystal clear.

As bad as the piranha tank would be in real life, I think it works *very* well for Dwight’s character. And it’s probably just a set piece, so I’m sure that’s not where the fish really lives.
I have a question for professional fish people 🤣 do you always need a co2 tank in your cabinet for your big tank? What’s that all about because I’ve ever only had a 20l tank with neon tetras and an undergravel filter with a Power pump when I was a teenager and recently been watching some aquarium videos and I found out people actually are carrying co2 bottles in their fish cabinets! There I was thinking those cabinets are so cool for storage... when they have buckets as filters 🤣 I was surprised. Is it that you need extra co2 if you have a planted aquarium? What’s the deal
Yes... CO2 injection is only for a planted tank where you have some harder plants, or if you want help keeping the algae downas CO2 can stop algae growth. Now some of the contraptions you see in the storage cabinets might not always be CO2. Some might be canister filters, which are, as the name suggests, filters.
Fish For Thought ohh thank you so much for your reply, was not expecting it! I found your channel randomly and I can say I have learned a lot even tho I don’t have fish. You don’t imagine how stupid I felt after understanding bacteria in filters, I would be that person buying filters my friend. My mother used to make me change the whole water in the tank, wash the gravel, wash the decor , all under the tap, sometimes with fairy liquid and yes that would also mean the undergravel filter too. Yes I’m cringing and actually hurting inside that now after all these years I’m finding out that I was hurting my fish a lot and that I was the cause of their fins being damaged and it wasn’t that they were attacking each other ... I trusted that my mum knew what she was doing and I also trusted the wrong guy at the pet store when I should have looked into it. Now I will not sleep tonight thinking about it! Thank you for educating us. I love your tanks they are all very beautiful.
I bought a chinese algae eater instead of an ottocinclus (big mistake) he ended up eating a chunk out of my beautiful cellophane betta’s tail so now he has his own 20 gallon until he gets bigger/i decide what to do with him.
