That's basically what it boiled down to
Not religious at all. Raised Atheist. Still personally believe that modern organized religion is largely a sham. That said, I feel there is something, I call it Source. I respect those who have a spiritual practice or religion that they take seriously and use to connect with "Source".

Hey Ray, thanks for all the advice you have shared. Your channel has really helped me start my business and get me to where I currently am.
It is available to understand the Word without contradictions. Not all Pastors out there understand how to rightly divide the Word using sound harmonoutical principles. There are more that don't than actually do. Knowledgeable teachers will show you chapter and verse, showing either Greek, Hebrew or Aramaic definitions, figures of speech, customs of the day, etc, which all play a role in understanding the Word. Mostly when it looks like there is a contradiction.
As I have searched through the years I have seen quite a few Pastors that know how to rightly divide the Word. One is Pastor Allen Nolan from Cornerstone Fellowship and another is Pastor Brett Meador from Athey Creek Church. Those are just a couple with channels on CZcams, but there are definitely more. With a heart to truly understand, you will find the answers.

I was raised in a corrupt Mormon home causing me to rebel against all religion...so I became an atheist.
I know it sounds cliche but I had an overdose, died and woke up to the Truth! Not everyone has a supernatural experience. But I do know that I cannot UNsee what I saw. I thank God every day for revealing Himself to me and I pray He does to you again someday...I hope it does not take a traumatic event.
I feel the Holy Spirit has been working on you...some day you may be ready to receive.
My husband would be happy to talk to you. He is a thinker too and loves having intellectual Bible conversations.

Thank you for your comment. In some ways, I'm envious of people who have had the experiences necessary to cement their faith, although at the same time, I'm also grateful to have had the experiences necessary to feel confident that I'm living a good life without a definable religion.
I'm especially happy that the channel has been useful to you and is hopefully improving your life. I may not actually believe in the Christian religion but the value of the teachings doesn't change just because I view them from one perspective or another. I love everybody, including you and your husband, And I want to see everybody thrive in life.
Really appreciate your thoughts, Ray. I'm an Anglican Christian, and you and I believe in the same God! Your values are deeply Christian, as I think you acknowledge - there are others and have been others that have different values e.g. Romans, Aztecs, Nazis, Communists whose value systems were very different - humans don't have to regard the individual human as sacred and treat them as such, they can believe in power over grace. Our relationship with God, is exactly what it is, a unique and personal relationship that is different for everyone. Our actions and thoughts are in alignment with our beliefs and convictions. I could no more explain to you my relationship and understanding, nor should we feel like were needed to validate and prove our relationship with God to another person or, define it when words fall short. I appreciate your honesty and integrity Sir. Like you, trying to be of benefit to others and make a living by providing helpful services. Thank you.

I have a relationship with Christ and God and talk to him often. I don't agree with the church or trust anyone labeled as Christian but i never enforce who I am to someone unless they make a worshipper look bad by a terrible character.

(thank you for not only talking about the mechanics of doing the business on the outside)

I will be careful not to overdo it... i know you think about the smoking thing... i can tell you something that will end it... you can not quit... you are a smoker... smokers smoke... dogs are dogs - can they quit being a dog?... BECOME A NON-SMOKER... non-smokers do not have the desire to smoke.. no withdrawals... you have Become a Loving husband and father (and much more) so you know about the Magic of Becoming. you can Become a non-smoker. it may take a few months to reach the place of BEING a non-smoker... Becoming is Miraculous. The Secret of Becoming is simple: Retreat from what you do not want to Be... turn away... let go...

Brother, that's why we need brothers that are really grounded in sound doctrine to come alongside when we are in the Word. That's why Christ says in Matt 28:16 to go out baptized and make disciples. That second part is to help show new converts how to understand and to help walk alongside you in your walk with Christ. Thank you for your honesty and I will say just keep seeking the Lord, because in the end there's nothing that we do apart from believing in him that will save us from an eternity in Hell. I still love watching your channel and hope that someone will be able to answer clearly your question about the faith. Love you Bro!
I love you too brother. I'm not currently seeking any answers anymore, as I'm quite comfortable with where I've come to in terms of being a good person who hopefully makes the world better in a small way And with being honest with myself about what I do and don't believe. If God is real, I'll let him sort that out at the end.

I am not surprised, but sad about your negative experience. God is real and created everything, and many have distorted his true word. There is no hell, and God's true intent is for people to live on this earth forever.

Thanks for sharing honestly. You said you read the Bible and then decided there were things in there that you couldn't square with. What are some of those things that caused you to draw the conclusion you have?
A few people have asked that question. I don't really know how to answer it without opening up the very same conversations that bothered me in the first place all those years ago. There were no final straws to speak of, just an endless train of tiny examples of how words can mean whatever you need them to mean if that's what is required to maintain faith. Once I reached the point that I could make extremely strong arguments both for or against either side of the coin, I realized that I did not have very good reasons for taking either side and if I'm going to remain honest to both myself and to God then I can't be pretending to believe something that I don't actually believe.
Fun fact: Questioning the Bible and day to day living is how I wound up Jewish lol.
Interesting you mention that. Although I'm not religious, the Jewish community feels like the type of community I would join.
@@bulletproofhandyman I was working in an Orthodox community, and walking around, I saw what looked like “The Book”, and at home, things didn’t look like “The Book”. I also thought it was odd that Jesus was Jewish, but bacon cheeseburgers were a thing.

I always wondered why a god couldn’t just make its message crystal clear and cast peace, love and joy into his children’s hearts. Millions of people have been destroyed by the interpretations of the Abrahamic bible by men with the most powerful armies. Constantine rewrote the Bible for his own benefit and that’s the christian bible used today. I never felt like I needed to be afraid of a god to be a good human being and people should be given credit for their talents and kindness, not some god. Thank you for bravely sharing your very personal beliefs about religion.

The bible has been edited and manipulated by the Council of Nicaea hundreds of years ago, if you want the truth you need to read the original writings the bible was based on. The original writings reference "Gods" which will open your eyes to our history and our reality. Millions of people have been slaughtered in the name of God and Allah, pretty scary stuff, there is good and evil everywhere you look these days, nothing new. Believe in yourself and treat everyone like you would want to be treated.
