Now that your established snd know all of your inventory, and have inventory stocked. Do you just order it online and get it shipped tp your house yo save yourself thr trip altogether?
I still have to go to home depot plenty so I just replenish on my home depot trips. Sometimes I order bulk online but I just track things mentally and purchase them in whatever way is best at the moment. Hopefully someday I'll order everything online but so far it just hasn't been necessary.
Submitting in UFC means tapping out sounds a lot like losing to me. 😂
For me it would be losing, but some people prefer working for other people to avoid the hassle and stress of having a business.
$150 an hour isn't bad. I had outside contractors get paid $225 an hour just to come to our plant when I worked maintenance
I agree
Truer words never spoken.
Thanks!
awesome stuff man thanks. I really enjoy these "hang out with me at work" videos where we tag along for your day to day, i think it gives us a great idea for what any given day might look like for those of us looking to get into this line of work!
Thanks! I'll keep doing them.
Great video, you do an excellent job of presenting material. Thanks for the time and effort, I'm going to give it a try and will use the link you provided.
You're welcome. I do think I have some more up to date tutorials as well if you look more recently in my videos. They're always upgrading the software so every 6 months or so I do one of these.
super helpful info, thanks!
You're welcome!
Just had a job replacing 6 blinds on metal doors. It went smooth and they didn't want any holes filled.
Thats awesome!
That is very cool. I never knew that.
Thanks!
Thank you Ray. You're the best. And by the way, I use a collapsible cart that I bought several years ago while at the beach. That thing has paid for itself many times over. I also use a collapsible trash bag holder, which is unobtrusive as well. It's basically an old laundry bag holder that's shaped like an X. It folds into itself nicely.
Thats perfect! I'll likely get one eventually.
The quote for this has to take as long as the inspection.
My quotes don't take very long, I have most of the line items already made in my software so all I have to do for most line items is just click and add a quantity.
good information
Thanks!
Video is skipping for me at 11:44. At first I thought maybe you were throwing in some rap or hip/hop for entertainment.
Yeah the service wasn't great there. Thanks!
Huge win.
Thanks Mike!
Speaking of storage boxes, Home Depot has a buy more save more on some Dewalt tough system 2.0 boxes and organizers. $150 off $500+. Until yesterday it was $300 off $500 because of a glitch.
Thanks!
This was a great day, so happy for you.
Thanks!
Another great video
Thanks Mike!
This was super helpful.
Thanks Mike!
I haven't done any masonry work, but I look forward to getting some experience with it someday.
It's pretty easy and usually pretty profitable
Love the move out videos.
I love doing them!
Great info as always.
Thanks Mike!
Its going to be a few years before I think about getting my GC License. My limit is 1,000 and that's working just fine for now.
Yeah I've done just fine with a $1,000 limit.
Even working for home owners, I have stopped asking "what date works best for you".
It made a big difference in my scheduling when I stopped asking that
The more I do this work, the more I understand that being organized is a critical part of making more money.
Saves so much time, and time is money!
Using the blue tape is genius, i'll be using this in my patch and paints.
I haven't had to go back to touch up parts I missed since I started doing that.
When the time comes I'll be getting myself a RAM ProMaster Cargo Van.
That would be a great vehicle!
Love the move out videos.
Thanks Mike!
Nice
Thanks Steve!
Love the video!
Thanks!
Great video, thanks for another one $350 a month plus insurance stuff per month 150-2##= 500-600. Which is alot of money for someone just starting out. Can anyon recommend a good option for someone just starting ou the goal would be to move to a better software probably Jobber once the work and money starts to come in.
I would just start out on their smaller plan, which is less than $50 per month and then upgrade plans as you grow. For the other CRM brands, I don't have any opinions on which ones are better than others. When I went to compare all of them I was comparing what they cost to get Access to the full suite of features that I think you would need. You're going to need QuickBooks either way, and I think QuickBooks can do invoices and estimates if that's all you're looking for.
if there is a backflow you need to install a pressure tank on the water heater it will stop the pop off from releasing
Awesome, Thanks!
I am a new Subscriber, and just starting my Handyman LLC. I was wondering if there is a bank that you would recommend. I have heard lots of good and bad about so many banks. I'm not sure if I should go with a bigger bank like Chase, a credit union like Navy Federal or a internet based bank like Novo. Any advice you could give would be greatly appreciated. Thanks
I've been with Wells Fargo since I was 14 or 15 years old. I've never had any reason to look elsewhere.
I have a drywall job in a couple weeks from a plumber where i have to remove the vanity and get in there and fix drywall for two leaks rhe plumber fixed. I quoted $500 for everything. I felt like I quoted a little high but its a lot of work. Removing vanity and fixing patching and rhose spots are 5ft long and 4 inches tall. Two strips. Then out vanity back and change water lines
You definitely didn't over charge. You're at far less than $100hr
Missed you live but watching now. Good stuff. Seems like ik always doing research on new technology and stuff for around the house.
Sorry I missed you, hopefully I'll be live streaming tomorrow on a move out.
@@bulletproofhandyman nice 🙂
Really going through your videos while im working during the day. Thanks for your time to help us
My pleasure sir, I'm really glad they're useful to you. I want everyone to succeed.
What’s up Ray! Got my jobber account, mentioned you. They call you Bp. Getting famous out here.
Awwww that's cool! Thanks!
I’m a Union Stagehand working in movies and big tech in California. After 20+ years I’m ready to work for myself. I’m now located in Nashville and would love to have a business like yours. Any advice on company naming? Thanks 🙏🏽
I have a few videos on the channel, and also one video in the master class going over naming your business. But the most important thing to know is that your name is the least important part of your business. I wouldn't put much time into it unless it was just fun to think up names. If you do solid work, you'll do great with any name.
Again great video! Some phone software allows tracking so you may be being tracked without your knowledge
Thank you sir!
Thank you for the great video
You're welcome!
How do you make sure you get paid from your clients. Sometimes they won’t want to do deposits and then it runs the risk of them not paying after you have completed the job. How do you make sure they always pay you?
Yep things here. One, If they don't pay a deposit that's a red flag that they are more likely to not pay at the end. Two, I don't work for home owners I work for property managers of single family homes. They lose me if they don't pay me and they need Handymen long term.
Thanks for a other great video!
Thank you!
Good job. But you really need to protect your knees, as you get older you will appreciate the tlc you give them now. Use a square foam pad if you don’t like the knee pads.
Thank you sir
"$500?!?" "Yes ma'am, $500". Well, I never! "Then the socks stay on"
Yep!
I only have 02 mercedes e320 that i obtained when i worked as the building maintenance at Mercedes dealership. No room for ladders, I have almost every tool i would ever need. Not having a truck/van is going to be a problem for me though.
You'll definitely have to upgrade eventually!
@@bulletproofhandyman Probably not worth starting until I get a truck or a van, can't carry any lumber or ladders.
You're probably right. However you could do smaller jobs from your car to make the extra money to buy something. Good luck!
I'm having trouble with the document download, it only wants my street address and a picture of "work to be done." I appreciate it
Email me at bulletproofhandymanbusiness@gmail.com
Perhaps it’s just me, but I cut my window screen frame material on a stationary table saw at home to get the ends perfectly square. Most common these days is the 5/16 x 3/4 material in white and also the sturdier 7/16 x 3/4 material which I always keep on hand. It gets fun when you need to source material for even other sizes and non-white shades. 😅
I used a chop saw in the past, but these days I can cut a pretty near perfect 90 degree cut with the skil saw. Close enough that nobody would be able to tell without holding a square up to it. Also I agree, I like the 7/16 frame material.
How can i get a general idea of what other handmen in my area are making working for property managers? I am seeking high-middle-upper class clientele
You can't that find that out reliably without getting that info directly from those handymen. I would recommend seeing your rates yourself and adjusting them over time to feel out that market.
Thanks again for a great video, Ill try to leave s comment on all your videos for the algorithm. I have tattoos, do you recommend always wearing long sleeves? One of these is my southern flag which some people think is racist, which i am not. I moved from the country into the city about 3 years ago. Washington DC, Northern Virginia area
Howdy! Of course I have a tattoo on my left arm, I don't try to hide it but then again it's a tattoo of me and my son walking through a forest. I think if I had a Confederate flag tattoo I would try to keep it covered. Not because I would be ashamed of that, but simply because it wouldn't be good for my business. I can't ever seem to find the time to get more tattoos, but I like to dream that someday I'll have both the time and the money to continue with sleeves and eventually my chest and back. In the meantime, my wife getting covered with absolutely beautiful art from her best friend. I'm a big fan of tattoos but I wouldn't risk my business for them. Thanks for the comments for the algorithm, it really does help and I sincerely appreciate it.
@@bulletproofhandyman I was thinking about it before this time that I would get it covered and moved someplace less noticeable
Thanks for your time and videos! Alot of great information.
You're welcome!
Also ryobi makes a jig for those hinges and router I have been using for years works great.. speed square and jig saves even more time
Thank you sir.
