      I found it was hard to estimate jobs at an hourly rate when the individual jobs may take 7 minutes or 13 minutes or 27 minutes. So I just broke it down into a minute by minute to help me get a better grass both the actual value of each task.

    The platform on top of the ladder is not meant to be a top step, that could have easily been a career ender.

    It looked like your foot was caught in the ladder before you went out of frame. Good thing you were wearing boots. I broke my leg a few years ago falling off a ladder similar to that. My foot got caught in the ladder as I went down and twisted my foot. Broke both bones clean through. I was not even that high and would have been completely fine if it wasn't for the ladder grabbing my foot. I'm super careful on ladders now. 2 surgeries and 3 months of not being able to walk without crutches and another month of walking with a cane. Be careful out there.

    Dude get yaself a 7 foot double sided ladder, very soon you will find it one of your 2 most used ladders.
    You may have to special order or cut down an existing ladder.
    yeh a have a 6 foot and an 8 foot ladders, but a 7 fotter is such a handy thing.
    .
    Dude ... don't take unreasonable risks with ladders, you can get seriously hurt or die even from reasonably short falls.

    • @bulletproofhandyman
      @bulletproofhandyman  Před 2 měsíci

      I've whittled my ladders down to two. This one in the video, and a very adjustable ladder that covers literally every other scenario except the tallest two-story roofs. Unfortunately I can't blame this on not owning the proper ladder. I had the ladder, I just left it at home...

  • @user27278
    @user27278 Před 2 měsíci +4

    I hope your insurance company doesnt see this Ray. What you did was NOT bulletproof and you should get rid of that ladder and get a regular wagner 6 footer. I use the top step on mine all the time and its waaaaay more sturdier than that. Imo those are home owner grade ladders not bulletproof ladders. I hope your wntire family chews you out for this. You owe to them to be safe. All love but stop that

      @bulletproofhandyman  Před 2 měsíci +1

      I have the correct ladder, just left it at home that day. The gorilla in the video is actually an amazing ladder. It's my favorite, for jobs that it is made for. This was just my fault for forgetting my bigger ladder at home.
      As far as being safe I agree it wasn't, but we all draw our lines in different places. However I'll be making a bigger effort to not find myself in that position again.

      Well the hat isn't really necessary indoors so fair enough. I just like the hat. Outdoors the hat is a life saver.

    Dem damn cowboy boots every time…🤦‍♂️🤡😂
    They’re literally designed to hook-&-hold in the stirrups.
    That ladder handle simply “stirrup’ed” you & bucked you right off like a wild bucking-bronco.
    Why, if the smoke-detectors are hardwired, do they need to be replaced?.

    • @bulletproofhandyman
      @bulletproofhandyman  Před 2 měsíci +2

      That's exactly what happened.
      Smoke detectors expire around 7 to 11 years depending on type sensor and brand.
