- Here's my Top 27 of the Yugoslav entries in Eurovision.
Towards the end of the country's life, Yugoslavia very much developed a certain style in Eurovision. The same sort of uptempo pop songs throughout the 80s was pretty good, but you can't ignore some of the gems they sent back in the 60s.
Hope you enjoy!
My favourite Eurovision country.
Dzuli is my favourite but I love Extra Nena and Riva as well
1990 and 1968 ❤
I felt like Yugoslavia had more diversity in the 1970s, though--most of their stronger entries are there and some deserved better! (e.g. Gori Vatra, Ne mogu skriti svoju bol)
I have yet to find someone who doesn't like Hajde Da Ludujemo--it's such an earworm! Though my favorite is Dzuli--it's nostalgic and summery, with an awesome orchestral.
MY DEAR YUGOSLAVIA!!!!!
Yugoslavia has sent many good songs to Eurovision and were underrated many times. They should have won in 1976 instead of 1989.
So good to see 1967 first! An incredible and underrated song
Yugoslavia had some great stuff scattered throughout their run. 1990 is my favourite of theirs, though 1968, 73, 74 and 76 particularly were awesome too.
Many good songs, especially in 60s and 80s. 1966 is my favourite
Ne mogu skriti svoju bol - by far Yugoslavia's best song in my opinion. I don't get how juries slept on it so much.
My top 10 from Yugoslavia (1961-1992):
10: 1986: great performance but the song is a little boring. 8/10
9: 1988: this song is so fun and catchy. 8/10
8: 1973: such a nice song with a good performance. 8/10.
7: 1972: great vocals and very anthemic song. 8.5/10.
6: 1989: very overhated. Very good and a deserved winner. 9/10.
5: 1968: so catchy and fun. Also very ethnic. 9/10.
4: 1974: very interesting structure and a great song. 9/10.
3: 1987: such a fun song. Very cute. 9/10.
2: 1983: such a fun and cute song. Such a fun performance too. 9/10.
1: 1990: such a fun song. Great performance and song. 9.5/10.
Honourable mentions: 1975, 1982 and 1967.
Overall Yugoslavia were a very decent country in Eurovision. They never really overly impressed me much but they were not bad either. If they sent songs more like the ones they did for most of the 80s they would have been a much better country for me.
Yugoslavia is a country that got better with time, their 60s entries don't interest me a lot, but 70s had a lot of great stuff, and 80s had them in complete form with a good amount of very enjoyable pop tunes. Uncertain of my general view of them, though, because there often were cases where their ideas had better alternatives from a different country in the same year, but I digress. Here's what I think.

Why does everyone hate the 1969 song?
@@alphajackman8656 The orchestra production is average but I can list some great things in the song:
1. His voice
2. The lyrics
3. The ending
P.S. I kept this comment so that people will understand why this song is good.

1986 was the worst year in Eurovision history, but Yugoslavis song that year is very good.
Yugoslavia was an okay-ish country at Eurovision. Don't have much to add
6/10 for 3rd place?????? Are you kidding me??? You hated THAT much 1982?
To be honest I'd probably put Spain above Yugoslavia now and give it a 7 or an 8.

Glad I'm not the only one who doesn't like Yugoslavia's entry in 1961; the singer sounds super off-key half the time.
