  • Here's my Top 49 of the Italian entries in Eurovision so far.
Italy has built up an impressive reputation for their good results since they returned after their long hiatus. I think Italy's track record wasn't very good in the early days but in the later half of their participations they've sent a lot of brilliant songs!
    Hope you enjoy!

Italy is definitely one of the best eurovision countries out there. Never a bad entry (or at least worst than "meh"), a bunch of classics, and just quality all around. I'm surprised that they only won three times as a result.
My favorites are Insieme and Fiumi di Parole; both of them are in my top ten of all time! Non mi avete fatto niente is my favorite post-comeback, on the other hand.

Not gonna lie, when I saw the 1956 box, I thought something was on my phone.

After 1993, Italy would no longer show any intentions to participate in the Eurovision Song Contest for years. The country nevertheless returned briefly in 1997, but this was most likely a mistake; the RAI is said to have mistakenly missed the cancellation deadline. Because the EBU threatened with a fine, the Italians decided to send a participant. The winning song of that year's San Remo festival was chosen, Fiumi di parole by Jalisse. It was the first time since 1972 that a winning San Remo song was heard at the Eurovision Song Contest. It was high in the polls prior to the Eurovision Song Contest, and was even a favorite at some betting houses.

Incredible jazz piece of art hugely underrated by the fandom. One time I agreed with the juries.

Italy is one of the best countries in Eurovision. Their 2021 song is the 2nd best Eurovision song of all time, behind Finland's song that year.

My top 10 for Italy in Eurovision (1956-2022):
10: 2022: this song is amazing in its original performance and in the studio version but the ESC performance misses something. 9/10.
9: 1983: this song is so catchy and the sound of it is just so nostalgic for me because even though I was born in 2007, I have an affinity towards 80s music. His vocals are so good as well. 9.5/10.
8: 2020: love the meaning of this song and it is just such a heartbreaking song to listen to. 10/10.
7: 1971: this song is amazing and has an perfect performance. 10/10.
6: 2019: this song has an amazing message and is a perfect masterpiece especially with that performance. 10/10.
5: 1958: this song is epic in every way. Love everything about it. 10/10.
4: 1987: this song is one of the best duets in ESC history. Every part of it is perfect. Their voices are so amazing as well. 10/10.
3: 2015: this song is an epic masterpiece. Their vocals are just perfect. The performance is also amazing. 10/10.
2: 1990: this song is so anthemic and impactful. Love its message and the song is perfect especially with that performance. 10/10.
1: 2021: just so amazing. Everything about this entry is perfect. I am also so glad they blew up while bringing back rock to the mainstream. 10/10.
    Honourable mentions: 1973, 1965, 1988, 1967, 1963, 2013, 1977, 1992, 2017, 2011, 1997, 1985, 1975, 1984, 1966 and 2018.
Overall Italy is one of my fave ESC countries of all time. They just send amazing entries constantly (and probably have the highest amount of tens for many country), particularly recently. But with that said quite a few of their entries miss the mark by far for me which makes their high results back in the day a little bit undeserved for my taste but nowadays they definitely deserve their high praise. I hope they send more amazing entries in the future.

Not familiar with most of Italy's old entries, but post-2011 they're one of my favorite countries in the contest. Very consistently good entries, with the only noticeable drop in quality being their 2022 one

From someone who has Marianne and Per Lucia as thier winners for thier respective years, it hurt seeing both of them so low
Also, pretty ballsy putting Volare and Non ho leta in mid tier

I decided I will just do a recap about what I think about the last 7 countries (even though I’m really late)
ok onto the recap / review
Italy is probably my second favorite of the og 7. The big break did play a big role in that. Mostly after that break it houses some of my favorite Italian entries like 2012 and 2014. Despite the success in the 10’s my favorite entry is by far 1997, followed by 1961. My least favorite is probably 1976, but it still isn’t the worst.
