  • Ever wanted to make cold process milk soap but not sure how? In this video, I use almond milk instead of water in the soap recipe, but you can use this technique for any kind of milk soap. This soap is scented with French lavender and petitgrain essential oils (details below). It's so fresh and vibrant! Perfect for that bright, summer feeling in any season.
    This was actually meant to be an Almond Milk Valentine's Day Hearts Soap! But alas, my hearts are more like sacred Bodhi tree leaves... I feel like it was meant to be 🥰🌳

    Hi Elly, I made this on Saturday and put it in the deep freeze for a few hours.
    When I took it out of the deep freeze I took the soap out of the mold and left it on the counter.
    The next day it was a soggy blob 😂
    I didnt use macadamia oil. I used Ansa Smit- Saponify substitution for olive oil, that is half canola and half palm.
    Ansa, like me, lives in South Africa and she showed how to substitute two oils in place of olive due to the very high cost of olive oil here.
    I added on the amount needed to replace the macadamia to half in canola and half into palm
    I love watching you and Ansa. xx

      Hi Keola, thank you. I can't recommend any courses I'm afraid, I learned everything I know from the internet! There is no one course that will teach you all the aspects of soap making, but there might be some good ones out there!

    Elly thank you so much for giving us your time and your creativity. I have a question. What’s the normal time you leave your soap after it’s done before you can use it or gift it. I want to make some for Valentines, so should I make it now so it’s ready for Valentines?

    I love your videos so much! My question is: can I still use the blender and the bowls and so on for making food after using them for soap? I'm not sure about it, even if they're cleaned thoroughly.

    Hi Elly,
    My daughter has a debilitating skin condition and the only soap she can use is goats milk and she loves the shae butter combined with the goats milk. She can buy this commercially, but I would love to gift her with my own soap. Are you able to help with a recipe please?
    Kim. 😍

      Hi Kim, the best way is to learn to calculate your own recipe for her. I have a video about that here czcams.com/video/AqKxin0q1bM/video.html Good luck! Hope you can formulate something that is soothing for her.

    Another great video,the design is lovely. Do you weigh the milk first then pure into the ice cubes then freeze Tia.

    • @EllysEverydaySoapMaking
      @EllysEverydaySoapMaking  Před 3 lety +1

      Thank you, yes you can do that, or just weigh directly into your ice cube tray if it fits on your scale :)

    Thank you for a great video. I plan to try this. Does the almond milk impart any scent (I'm guessing it doesn't)? Also, which of your videos (if any) has an explanation of gel phase? I'd like to understand better what it is and learn how I can avoid the big round mark in my soaps that appear as they dry. Thanks again.

      @EllysEverydaySoapMaking  Před 3 lety

      Hi Arlo, I've got a great description of gel phase on my website that I'm launching on the weekend! ellyseveryday.com That will definitely answer your question. And no, the almond milk doesn't impart any scent in my experience.

      Hi, I don't think they would add much fragrance and they would most likely go brown.

    Hi Elly
    Wonderful design technique 👍🏻
    I have been following your channel and love your ideas, made your 100% coconut oil soap recently.
    I have a question....
    I tried to make the beginner’s lavender soap according to your 2 year old video, and as soon as I added lavender essential oil(15ml), it just seized! I had made my lye solution one day in advance and tried to keep temperatures low by only melting coconut oil and adding to olive oil( I use pomace though).... can you guide me a bit.

    • @EllysEverydaySoapMaking
      @EllysEverydaySoapMaking  Před 3 lety

      Hi, thanks Jyoti, it sounds like it was your lavender oil! Are you sure it was pure essential oil? Pure lavender oil won't do that to your soap. If it was a synthetic fragrance oil that was probably the culprit.
