I got some flattish amazon boxes that can hold a mold. So I line the box with newspaper to catch any spills, put the mold in and fill. Then I can close the box without worrying if anything will touch it and cover it if I want more insulation.

Thank you for sharing such great tips and tricks! You do the best job at explaining why things work the way that they do. I am brand new to soap making. I have rectangle molds that fit inside wood frames. My first batch had a gel center ring. My 2nd batch was a complete disaster. I used too much water. It was wet and super soft. I did a rebatch, but it is still soft. I don't know how to fix it. The 3rd batch I placed inside a warmed oven, but it still has the gel center ring. Do you have any suggestions on how to make it gel completely? I love the colors of the outer loaf of soap. I would like for them to have the same pretty colors inside too. Thank you! Love your attitude and the sharing of the way you mix and bake. So helpful, I've made your recipe without masuring. Just did it by the feel of the dough consistency. Added a few tablespoons caraway seeds and molasses. Stuck the pan inside a Dutch Oven. Such a great bread. Thanks for sharing.

I am a beginner, i made one batch and used the combination of essential oil and after 6week of curing time, when i used it, fragrance vanished, it has a very-very less smell. Is there any way to keep the fragrance intact for longer period

Lately I just use the normal natural color and another color . It’s to much work and the clean up is much better. I pour the color into the natural batch and then just pour it into the mold. I’m retired soap business owner and now I make soap for family, friends, neighbors and old loyal customers that keep returning. I only use more colors if it’s a special big order. I don’t do lotions, bath bombs, shower steamers, wax melts, body sprays, deodorants anymore. To much work and to many labels. Sometimes I don’t even wrap the soaps. I put them in a bag and hand them over. So, without all the fancy stuff I did as a business owner I can now relax knowing that they love my soaps more than how they look.

Quick question, I think you said 1/3 cup of soap per small load increments… so like an extra large load would be 1 cup + 1/3 cup ? Right? Just making sure 😅… also, how much vinegar do you use depending on each size of the load ?
