Exactly the story here with us bro! My nana who lived a life on certain principles and values who is a retired educator from government believed in women empowerment and financial freedom. All eight of my aunts did higher studies from top Pakistani unis back in the 90s and today we the current generation have become global with our work to education and everything. The younger aunts are phds serving as full professors in unis while my mum is also a full professor at local uni! Junaid bahi talked so to the point that all other issues and itty bittes became irrelevant. Everyone should esp the girls go for financial freedom thats when they will escape the deja vu living at sakht husbands mercy!

Confidence is everything. If your parents dont inculcate confidence in you, even if you're doctor, you cant do anything.
Hence, we see an overwhelming number of female doctors in Pakistan leaving practice after getting married. Many get into medical just because it increases their 'demand' during rishta search. They have no intention of practicing.

I wish my family had more men in it like you. I've had to fight for independence every single step of the way. People made me feel crazy and 'called me "besharam" and "nafarmaan" for wanting to pursue higher education, working, living and being independent. I was told I should act like women "should" and accept our roles in life. I stuck to my instinct, and fought for my rights....but man, it would have been so much easier on my life if I had support.

Giving birth to children, raising them, feeding them, teaching them manners and discipline and moral values and also their school syllabus. A newborn baby needs atleast 5 years of a mother's 24HOURS attention and father's love and hugs. you are saying that on all of this, a woman should work and earn?? The husband salary will have no BARKAT if it's not spent on children and wife. That will ultimately be used on useless things and wasted. Allah likes women at home not outside. Shaytan remains with women till they out of their homes. Husband looks respectable when fulfils the needs of their children and wife. Women should get education but not to earn but to teach their children. And they can earn if they are free from all the responsibilities of children and children are grown up. Bcoz Allah loves when the children he has blessed to both parents, are loved and thoroughly looked after.

The expenses incurred by the wife are the responsibility of the husband. If a husband does not give money to his wife, then this is wrong in the society as well as in the islamic society. This is wrong to say that a woman should work and earn her living by working somewhere.
And in this way, a woman will continue to earn all her life and her husband will not give her expenses, so this is not right either, because this is also a sign of oppression. Husband's job was to give money to his wife, you should say that husband must fulfil the needs of his women ,if he does not then she has an option to marry a man who will pay for her expenses.
And on the other side there will be many such women who are illiterate and skill less, and unable to earn for many reasons because it is very difficult to find a job for a boy ,who has to become a earning hand for his family,so you should go for this option, which is to tell them that it is a man's job to bear the woman's expenses.

To understand the liberal secularist and feminist project in the Muslim world, one needs to revisit the British colonization of Egypt.
Everlyn Baring, better known as Lord Cromer, was the British Proconsul-General in occupied Egypt between 1877 and 1907. He wrote about his tenure in his book "Modern Egypt" (1916). Here are some conclusions from his book:
      1. The West will not tolerate an Islamic government.
On page 565, he said that it would be "absurd" to assume that Europe would tolerate a "government based on purely Mohammedan principles and obsolete Oriental ideas."
      2. Muslims must be forced to adopt the principles of Western civilization.
On page 538, he said that Egypt had to be "forced into imbibing the true spirit of Western civilization."
      3. Westernization must be introduced under the guise of women's rights.
Lord Cromer says that the "position of women" in Muslim countries was a "fatal obstacle" in the introduction of colonial values. (page 539)
      4. The West must educate a class of young secular Muslims to be the rulers.
Cromer's hope was that a Europeanized education system would cause an Egyptian to "lose his Islamism", cause him to "no longer believe that he is always in the presence of his Creator", and only hang onto "the least worthy portions of his nominal religion" for the sake of convenience. (page 230)
      5. The West must reform Islam.
Cromer says that the goal should be to create "de-moslemized Moslems", where people are Muslims-by-name, but in actuality, are "agnostic". After all, Cromer says, "Islam cannot be reformed ... reformed Islam is Islam no longer." (pages 228-229)
      6. The Muslim reformer would hate Muslim scholarship more than Europeans do.
The Westernized Muslim would consider the `alim to be a "social derelict", use him in matters of convenience, but otherwise disrespect him. On the other hand, a European Christian intellectual would at least look at the `alim with sympathy and respect, as a "representative of an ancient faith". (page 299-30)
      7. Modernized Muslims will become Deists.
"It is conceivable that, as time goes on, the Moslems will develop a religion, possibly a pure Deism, which will not be altogether the Islamism of the past and of the present, and which will cast aside much of the teaching of Mohammed, but which will establish a moral code sufficient to hold society together by bonds other than those of unalloyed self-interest." (page 234)
      -----------
We can see therefore that Islamic reform started as a colonial project. A project that has been devilishly designed by European intellectuals to undermine the clerics, introduce secular humanist institutions, and gradually and inconspicuously lead Muslims away from the central tenets of their tradition. They knew that this reformed, liberal Muslim would not be a Muslim at all, but just a Europeanized invertebrate (i.e. a spineless being) who would maneuver the religion to his needs.
This seven-step process is exactly what is happening to Muslim youth in the West. They volunteer themselves to Western academia and pop culture, and are led away from a truly Islamic worldview and epistemology. And while they fool themselves into calling themselves "Muslim reformers", or "Muslim feminists", or "moderate Muslims", or "liberal Muslims", their puppet masters know that these are all contradictions in terms.
Times change, but right remains right, and wrong remains wrong.

He is trying to give you a very temporary solution. If you follow JA’s advise, it will create issues in your life at a level which you can’t even imagine.
Yes get your degree, make sure you have a backup plan in case you get married to someone who doesn’t support you or become abusive.
However - give the primary responsibility of financial management to your husband otherwise he will become lazy. For everything, he will say “you have a degree or job etc why don’t you earn yourself”.
As this behaviour continues, your relationship will become weak in the longer run because you will eventually loose connection.
At the same time - also learn some self discipline and restraint that husband won’t be able to fulfill every wish. So sabr is important as well

Women's financial freedom impacts generations to come because it gives them the ability to take leadership in not just housework, but also in the finances. If you want happy relationships in society, you have got to give women the full right of managing financials. Don't EVER trade your career/education for temporary biased promises because marriage is not for living each day in suffering, rather, it is to live with mutual understanding. Both partners take equal and fore responsibility of their lives.

Although it's difficult but the balance between a husband and wife's rights is still maintainable by strictly remaining within the Islamic Jurisprudence.
We are living in 21st century and it's contemporary requirement to educate our women. If they volunterily want to do a job, we shouldn't stop them, keeping in mind that Nan-Nafqa or household's expenses are totally the responsibility of husband. A husband ought to hand over the expenses of households to his wife at the start of every month.
If a wife is professionally qualified working lady, a husband shouldn't exploit this situation by sitting idle at home, feed on and run the households on his wife's income. If a wife happily contributes a portion of her income for the maintenance of the households well and good, but a husband can't force her to do so.
Parents should strictly do the evaluation of bride and bridegroom's personality, character and education and religious background before establishing a relationship.

We are more into showoff instead of facing realities and do which really meaningful, Junaid bahi there is other side as well when woman become financial dependent than they starting think why have to care about their husband. So I think maturity level, patients and respect is only thing can take this relation through

True man. There are all types of women in the society, he is talking about a specific group. Financial independence na do toh chances are wives get oppressed, and agar dedo toh chances are the start oppressing and blackmailing the husband to leave with the children. Haven't we all heard of women who want to have children asap after marriage so that they could control the husband, imagine giving the financial freedom too to the same women, aag lagadey gee.
Women/Wives should be given financial power but should also be taught to be responsible with that power and use it to raise a good family and that is where the tarbiat comes.

Sorry to say but most of my female batchmates ruined their NED engineering degrees and are living off their husband's incomes. Previously, they were dependent on their fathers. Many women don't have the career oriented mindset at all. They don't have professional job because they have a clear choice not to do so. The universities should sign a bond with "all students" to work/generate income for at least 10 years right after passing out (can create some sort of proof mechanism to ensure compliance) so that every person is encouraged to enter workforce/business and enjoy their financial independence.
You are doing great by preaching this great knowledge!
