Junaid Bhai the rock engraving isn’t Jewish. It is near my village and a UNESCO site. It was written by Asoka, the Mauryan emperor. The claim that Pashtuns are descendants of Jewish tribes is unfounded. I have done a lot of research and no history book mentions this. From a historic point of view and through genetic analysis, the modern Pashtun is of multiple regional ancestors. Pactyans (the direct ancestors), Bactrians and Scythian. 5th century BC Greek historian Herodotus describes a tribe of nomadic people in Central Asia as red haired and grey eyed. In the 3rd century BC. Greek poet Callimachus describes a tribe of people living in the mountains of North Scythia as fair haired. 2nd century BC, Han Chinese envoy describes the Scythian tribes as having yellow and blue eyes
