I think where city has a major problem is not down to some financial irregularities over one or two years, it’s the fact there has been continual breaches over 14 consecutive years showing a blatant disregard for any financial fair play rules 🤔
It's not a fact, it's an allegation. I will be stunned if any of these allegations stick in a proper court. Low IQ fans of other clubs will be cheering, but sober minds will be realizing that if these allegations aren't rock solid, then it might be the PL that is facing trouble.

The smaller clubs like Swindon, Derby and others get hammered but just watch as City buy their way out of this.
Was just saying the same to some friends who want to see justice done. But sad reality is that the more money is involved the less likely it is that the right thing will be done, and the Premier League is swimming in it
@@ronanfitzpatrick1261 Ain't that the truth.
Funny how FIFA had "no idea" about all of this
Unfortunately, I think you are right that English football will chicken out. The game is about lucrative entertainment first, and a fair playing sport second. Swindon, Derby could get hammered without negatively impacting the big money making machine. But sending City down to play Championship might negatively impact FA revenues, while costing millions in lawyers fees immediately as City drags everything out and appeals.
If these charges are proven, IMO City should be sent down to League 1, so they will be out of the PL for two years.

Having watched numerous lower league clubs punished for comparatively minor financial issues with huge point deductions, and some clubs having to fold, it just seems wrong that Premier League clubs seem to get away with financial misconduct. It just shows the widening gap between the Premier League (AKA English Super League) and the EFL. And I just wonder where all this will end. This is not the game I grew up loving. I think that's long since lost and will never be recovered.

It will take a long time for this to get through the courts - will City's money attract players to a club looking at possible relegation? - the same UK rules apply that saw Saracens relegated from Rugby's EPL, it could certainly happen.
It will aparently, take a couple of years at least to get to a verdict but absolultely, Citeh will struggle to attract big name players. Would Bellingham consider them now? His options are getting smaller. As a Liverpool fan, I think we've blown it with him signing now. His options are now Real, PSG or Chelski. If found to be true, how many clubs have been effected due to these actions? How many teams have been involved in relegations (maybe multiple ones) because of the results, not only against them - but to those teams they've been fighting in the same relegation battle?
What about all the results in the cup competitions? How many teams have been knocked out in rounds by them - even being runners-up to them? The mind completely boggles!
The financial implications upon all of those effected teams (due to loss of revenue) could be phenomenal - if each team decided to bring a class action for loss of revenue and titles would truly be incalculable by the main mind. If, any / most of these are found to be true and Manchester City have been found to deliberately delay the findings because of potential actions then its going to be major punishments - and though the FA have tried to acquire the documents, it really should of been pressed for further...
Maybe all accounts need to be submitted by the end of each season as part of the qualification of their team to be involved in the following one.
Though many will cheers at this, we all need to remember that they are innocent until proven (without a shadow of a doubt) guilty. I actually feel sorry for the fans of the club - the true ones who were there under Peter Swales and the like, not just the glory hunters.
It could end up the 'Big Six' becoming the 'Big Five' in the near future Obviously, Newcastle United are not part of the 'Big Six' club association - it's like seeing the Earth as 'Big' and forgetting all about Jupiter...
Spot on. But it is because of these endless levels of wrongdoing, that the FA won't punish man City. They cannot have the entire Premier league turned into a law suit from every club who played them. They can't send man City to league 2 because the owners of man City will throw a billion pound in their lap. Money solves everything and that is why man City will get a points reduction at max. Still could go and win the CL. Its a joke
@@zafmo9829 If I were the chairman of a club which has been relegated since the Commencement of when the allegations started - and those results would have obviously had an effect to that relegation, then I would be seeking legal advice for a possible class action against either Manchester City and or the F.A. This of course would only be processed if Manchester City were found to be significantly guilty of these breaches (there's still a long way to go on that).
@@zafmo9829 It's February 2023 when these allegations have been made, Manchester City will have just received the details of these allegations and it will take time for them to prepare a defence. There'll then be a period of arbitration and if found guilty, Manchester City will have the right to appeal.
Don't forget, you're innocent until Proven guilty in this country.
The timeline for this is obviously not going to be in time for the Commencement of the 2023/24 Season - at best, in my opinion, the final decision and punishment (if found to be guilty) might be as early as in line with the Commencement of the 2024/25 Season.
Again, may I stress - Manchester City have not been legally found guilty of anything yet. I'm not an expert on these scenarios - not many people are but I don't think that like many legal cases that there'll be any 'plea bargaining'.
@@zafmo9829 What could possibly be happening at this time (I would be if I were currently contracted to the club) is that player contracts could be getting fully reviewed and scrutinised for potential loopholes or escape clauses.
Again, if I were a player with a level of 'commercial image rights' and contracts with certain brands, 'I' would be concerned about what has been alleged and how it would reflect on 'me' and how it would reflect on 'my career' - if Manchester City were found to be significantly guilty of these allegations.
It's an absolute legal minefield in my opinion, but if there are clauses in the contracts for the conduct of the players - then it is fair to anticipate that there'll be clauses for the conduct of the club.
But at this time, Manchester City have not been found guilty of anything.
Though Manchester City have not been found guilty of anything at this time, the clock begun at the FA announcement yesterday - and that clock is basically the mental picture of potential impacts of them being found guilty.
You'd obviously be looking at a fine, a 'competitive' points deduction - estimated to a number where it is still recoverable to avoid relegation on the season it is determined (it will most likely be at the start of a season - and I don't think if they're found guilty that relegation to another division will be asserted) and the most likely of all being a Transfer Ban - this one is the key one as the amount of time which is determined and set for could be the key.
If found guilty and say a transfer ban of three years (6 transfer windows) is set, then Manchester City (and who would sign for them in the next window in knowledge of what could be pending, if found guilt) could have some real significant problems in trying to recover - especially if some of their existing players have their contracts torn up: Their squad could be absolutely decimated by the time of them coming out of thr other side - possibly already facing themselves in a league, if not two lower than where they started.
I know people are going to say 'That would never happen' - but the simple question would be to ask is 'How can you perform without a team?' - All that would be left are stragglers, low members of the squad and whatever they can pull through from the youth academy.
And that there is the crux, which is also the 'worst case scenario' - IF Manchester City were found to be guilty of any serious breaches and they'll most likely have a better legal team on the case than what the F.A. have.
What I do believe (in my opinion) is that many of the clubs will expect the punishment (if found guilty) to be significant enough to ensure that its an effective deterrent - otherwise the entire investigation would have proven to be inept and useless. In the past, their focus would have possibly been there to 'peg back' the likes of the oligarchs capability to blast through the cash to attain success - but there's one out there that's even bigger than Manchester City, three times the size of the combined wealth of the Premier league combined (and even greater than the combined worth of the eight top European leagues). All efforts will be made to scrutinise every penny in and every pound out for Financial Fair Play. Every 'Big Club' in Europe thought they were big sharks in a big pool until the takeover of Newcastle United in October 2021 - now they're faced with the reality of scale and will make all efforts (in particular their direct competitive in the Premier League) to reduce their inertia.
Hey, I hope Man City don't get hit too hard - if anything as through time every generous chairman has spent on their club, long before the days of Jack Walker (God rest him) was doing it at Blackburn. Every team is going to try and find something to their advantage - regardless of the country or the league.
I for one would miss it if Man City were no longer in the Premier League - they've had some historical decent fans in their time.

I don’t think they will be stripped of their titles, but interesting thought. If they were striped of their titles, then that would include the cups too. Sunderland, Liverpool, and Arsenal would be up for snatching the league cups! Stoke would also pick up an FA cup win.
Stripping them of titles, no matter how just, is really unlikely. Problem for me would be were any clubs able to prove that they got relegated or failed to qualify for the CL purely because they were hammered by City that season. Every such instance would likely lead to 10s of millions of pounds lawsuits being directed at the PL for not enforcing its own rules.

Personally speaking, I'd make sure the case was watertight. Imagine the damage caused to the FA if Citeh got off with it? They'd be an absolute laughing stock. And UEFA I suspect, will be in there somewhere. They were livid Citeh got away with it after taking it to CAS. And UEFA has some very powerful people on their backs, like Real Madrid and Barcelona.
This could also be the best thing ever to happen in football.....as spending on wages and players have definitely gone out of control.
The football players deserve to get paid, they bring in billions and small club fans want them to get paid 2 million a season MAX
How do man city fans feel about this? You have been investigated by every footballing body yet have got of all the charges because of technicalities. How does it feel to support a club which only exists because of constant illicit activity. I would be ashamed if my club behaved like this.
no you wouldnt lol

Wenger predicts everything the guys got a crystal ball
Just because charges have been brought forward, evidence has to be provided before punishment can be administered. This will be dragged out for a number of years. I suspect City's board however 'surprised' they claimed to be were ready for this
Of course. Due process (rightly so) takes a long time. Guily or innocent we seem to have a sport culture whereby trial by social media precludes anything else.
The exact same thing happened with Saracens (paying players via third parties) and they got relegated. There is no other outcome than relegation.

Another thought, what happens to those teams during the last 13 years of the premier league that had lost both home and away from Man. city and just by 5 or less points went down during those seasons? All the revenue they lost.
Leeds were deducted 15 points in 2007 for not breaking even a quarter of these regulations

The players must have got wind of this before we are now, could explain why things haven't been right with this team lately, it felt more than just trying to adapt to a new style with the AI Viking, as the start of the season they were hitting teams for 3-4-5.
Not really, players and managers have adapted to their very obvious playstyle
It's not hard to beat
Literally no different than LVG's playstyle in his first season at United, once you figure out how to deal with it it's a cakewalk
@@victorkreig6089 So teams have figured them out just as this 'charges' were brewing?
If we heard about it today, you bet it was known about before in the circles.
If it's such a cakewalk to work them out, what are M-City still doing in 2nd place?
@@lukelocks9083 literally because they had a damn easy schedule at the start of the season and like I said teams had to figure them out still as Haaland forced them to shift their playstyle a bit
Before LVG got screwed his first season United were wrecking everyone, then Sunderland (or was it Stoke) played them in January and figured out how to get around his tactics and trashed them I think 3 nil. Only reason that didn't continue is because LVG took it so personally he decided to play almost exclusively defensively with long balls into the box and never really was an attacking threat manager again while at the club
Oil city and more specifically Pep basically plays keep away
Retains all midfield control with constant almost exhaustive passing, and keeps the tempo consistently high which eventually creates gaps in the defense and they get exploited
Name a single club that runs just as much or more than city that has actually lost to them under pep
Won't find many, because once their pace is matched and their midfield is neutralized they rely entirely on the skill of their back line to keep the other team from scoring and pray for their forwards to magically put them ahead.
Since Fernandinho has left the club that back line has had to do all the work defensively and they absolutely suck at it, Laporte is good for attacking but not so great at defense, Stones is actually good but how often does he even play, Walker is a mid table player pretend it to be better, Ake is a midfielder being used as an emergency defender but unlike Daily Blind he isn't competent at it, Akanji is serviceable but a lot like Victor Lindelof his left side is his weakness easily exploited and he gets caught watching quite often, Mendy is actually pretty good but he's more of a mid than a defender.
City has no defense and it's laughable that all that money Pep spent didn't fill the hole left by Ronaldinho despite knowing how important he was
@@lukelocks9083 your reaching tbh their definitely worse on the pitch this season.
The way to stop this is let teams spend what they want , otherwise no teams have a chance of getting to the top as they have an advantage
The reality is the prem have to make the punishment as harsh as possible to deter other teams from ever trying the same thing, plus the other teams will be steaming if they get a light punishment.
