Thank you for your comment, Max. We have a very talented in house videographer and editor who knows what he is doing! We really believe 2020 will be the decade of the cargo bike, for both family and business, and are constantly working as a team to gain as much information as possible on the best offering across eBike manufacturers to pass onto our audience.

Yes, we really enjoyed reviewing it and we think it will add to our collection of premium eCargo bikes - the most competitively priced and with the Bosch system... a very good offering from the UK's most recognised bike brand!

So Rayleigh stride 2, Winora FUB 2 and Batavus vier 2 are exactly same bikes with different colours and branding and all brands belonging to Accel group. Nice market positioning but hope the regular clients get it: hey chaps! Hoi mensen! & Hallo zussamen!

Thanks for the video! Is it possibly unfair to label it entry level when it comes with the industry standard motor and very well spec'd transmission? Other brands you'd be paying extra for CVT. The bike came across very well to me.

Hi Ryan, thanks for getting in touch! In some instances it probably would be unfair to say this. However, we truly believe that in order for you to have a good cargo bike (and after years of experience dealing with other eBike systems) that it has to be a Bosch product. That simply comes down to the systems' reliability, especially when carrying such load - our mechanics have had some problems with other systems before! We only stock Bosch powered cargo bikes, and as such the Raleigh Stride 2 is the entry level option out of our cargo bike range. The build quality and key features of other cargo bikes in our range, as well as their overall riding and passenger geometry's, so outweigh the Stride 2. However, this is a FANTASTIC option for that price point, which is why we stock it. Hope that was helpful and you're doing well, wherever in the world you are!

What is the differences between this bike and the MK5?

  • @dickonp8772

What makes this an entry level cargo bike? The spec is good, it has THE top of the line motor, it's a touch cheaper than Urban Arrow. Am I missing something? I also think describing something with £4.4k starting price as 'entry level' might unfairly put off a lot of people considering taking the leap of acquiring an E-cargo bike.

Hi Dickon P, thank you for reaching out. We'd firstly like to thank you for pointing out to us the error in our title. It should now read 'Bosch Entry Level eCargo Bike' - this was how it was meant to be written when we uploaded the video yesterday! To your second point, and not to be in anyway condescending to Raleigh who have produced this brilliant first attempt at a family eCargo, but there is better build quality and technological advancements seen in Bosch's other front-box eCargo bikes that we stock from Urban Arrow, Butchers & Bicycles and Riese and Müller. These are specialist eBike manufacturers (with Urban Arrow only specialising in electric cargo bikes), and these bikes can come bespoke to each customers specific configuration. We will be doing a best cargo bikes for 2022 video in the coming weeks, so do watch out for this. The Raleigh Stride 2 does feature, as do all of our line up, as we believe they are the best family cargo bikes currently in the market. 😀

A flawed idea, it's not practical to store. For the asking price should have a attach/detach mechanism for the cargo in the front, it's great to have a storage and child seat but it will be nice to have a dual purpose solo when you want to go solo. A secure lock with immobiliser and alarm is a must, otherwise it will be gone in 60 seconds.

four thousand and four hundred quid "entry level cargo bike". yah thats taking the pi*s. you can get a "entry level" cargo bike for 50% less on e -bay. or you can do what i did and built one from scrapers for two grand including a 48v battery and 250w motors front and back.
that said for what you get for the price is reasonable and raleigh make very tuff bikes.

It sounds like having two 250 watt motors wouldn't be legal. Do you know how the legality of this stands?

Or you could buy a cargo bike that's really entry level.
And then throw it away after a year, and buy another one.
And then proceed to do that for 3 more times for the same price tag...
