  • Here's Pure Electric's review of the Bergamont's E-Cargoville LJ 70 electric cargo bike. As we move towards a healthier and more environmentally friendly way to get around, expect to see a lot more electric cargo bikes. They are work horses, the SUV’s of bikes. Great when you need to handle larger or heavier loads. They can be used by businesses for carrying equipment or deliveries and families transporting kids, or the weekly grocery shop.

Would be amazing if we could cut down on the number of vehicles in our city centre and see people use cargo bikes instead. Three people in my office use a cargo bike to get kids to daycare and they all love it!

They are great and come in so many different shapes and sizes. More and more companies are using them for deliveries due to their efficiency. For 2 car families, it's a great option for relacing at least one car. ~Michelle

The LJ 70 is my daily bike. I use it to go to work, for shopping, for leisure activities. I sold my car and am the father of a small family. The LJ 70 carries a load of up to 200 kg (including myself) and can take me between 90 and 40 km, depending on the level of assistance. The battery takes about 4 hours to fully charge, but I am planning to add an extra battery.
I've been riding the bike for 3000 km and over a year now. Well, minus the 4 months it spent in the repair shop. The Enviolo gears are undersized. Ok, I live in a topographically challenging city and have broken two of these hub gears in a short time.
The service from the manufacturer was poor, but thanks to my dealer I had the will not to return this bike.
I have now had a Rohloff gear system fitted. It was not cheap, but it was the only way to use this bike.

Intresting concept. Was initially uncertain about where it would be useful but after seeing the full video I can see some applications.
Michelle could sell refrigerators to Eskimos. Great kits by the way!

Great review, but unless i missed it, regardless of payload, nothing said about approx distance/time battery would last, neither locking up the bike for quick store-front drop-off delivery.

Well great review! All said. You never mention about the bike brakes, how on full load and speed you put sudden brake...?? What happen next...

Hi is there available Bosch cargo in the philippines? I really want to build like to that on our country. It's a promising product you have.

Can't see if it has suspension on the front hub. Does it?
When the legs are the actual conversation starter..... At least thats the idea I get on my cargo bike.

      Nope, no suspension.

How long would the battery last in one day

It's rougly 7-8 Wh/km, so 625/8 is roughly 80km. I prefer the Bosch handle-bar powerpacks, this looks a bit complicated to take inside, and charging outside is not always easy. My bike has 2x500Wh Powerpacks, and that allows for 120-140km.

What a waste. This is not a review of any sort.
