Hector: In general, this means the test is positive and most probably you are dealing with weak H2S producer particularly Salmonella. Use other tests or serology to confirm Salmonella. If you are using TSI along with SIM, you will see that H2S is negative by TSI, while it is positive by SIM.

If I’m testing for the Sulfur, and a black precipitate appears but only on the top(pellicle) what does that mean is the test positive or negative
