It’s been 25 years??? Wow I remember seeing it day one. And I actually like it. One of the few.
I liked it too. Many people did but the generation that had more access to the internet and older critics were not happy it was so different to the Original Trilogy.
I waited in line to watch this when it released. It also took me 2 days just to download and watch the trailer.
I also just took my 9yr old to see it and it was just as good as the first time. Duel of the fates in the theater is a must!!
I remember how long it took to download that trailer but it was worth it 😂
I remember 25 years ago it was so hyped up
It really felt like a worldwide phenomenon back then. Those were the days
Can't emphasize enough that star wars fans came out in droves for this movie DESPITE THE FACT THAT IT AND NEARLY ALL OTHER FRANCHISE OFFERINGS ARE AVAILABLE NEARLY 24/7, 365 ON TV AND OTHER DEVICES, VIA DISNEY+, PAY PER VIEW, AND OFTEN ON "FREE" CHANNELS. Many thousands went to the theaters last weekend but I'd bet that many many others were grabbing the vibe of the phenomenon at home or with friends or other groups, which I'm sure bumped all kinds of other revenue.
And I'm beginning to think that this so called historical backlash against the prequels 20 or so years ago was mostly a chimera, fomented by disgruntled Critics and some disgruntled and vocal moviegoers whose influences manage to seep into many minds even up to this day. Sure, the pace was different.
Focus was different. But they all still had a beauty and epic feel that expanded upon the relative intimacy that the original trilogy expatiated upon so well. Many many other star wars fans love the prequels, but back in the day the access to and familiarity with and use of the internet and other communication technologies was vastly less prevalent than it was even 10 years ago and their voices were largely unheard in comparison to the howls of the naysayers. It's great that everyone has their own opinions and a right to them but every faction's voters count. Prequels fans are Star Wars fans. These movies all exhibit that Star Wars magic-- in their own ways.
Very well said
I saw it this weekend! Totally worth it!
Me too, great to be in s theatre full of fans
I saw the phantom menace on May 4.
Same here 🙌
So damn happy for this! This is art! The sequels are in the words of Dr Malcolm: “A big pile of s#$t”
😂😂
Episode 1 has the best sound effects my heart kept beating lol
That podrace sounded amazing 🔥🔥
They need to release Revenge of the Sith for its 20 year anniversary. It’s the best Star Wars movie of all time
That would make so much money. After this movie’s performance, you bet ROTS is in the conversations right now.
@@ScreenThrill, or even better yet, the release of Revenge of the Sith extended edition in theaters. Unlikely, but worth noting
decent movie as always but still rewatchable atleast is better then the Disney era
100%
Not a shock. People always loved this wonderful film! Only a vocal few obnoxious “fans” tried to taint it upon release.
The Phantom Menace is all heart and a masterpiece of sci-fi/fantasy movie making.
i love Menace, glad to see people are appreciating this film more and more
Did you watch the Phantom Menace this weekend?
The film was in the cinema again in Germany yesterday, but unfortunately I missed it.
Greetings from Berlin!
@@Jay-oj5or aw I miss Berlin. Love the city. Don’t worry, after these results you bet they will release all Star Wars marathon any day now.
Hell ya!
No, I watched a good Star Wars movie instead
@@greglbennett which one?

It’s an SNL video called Natalie’s Rap 2 🤙
Found it. Seeing her dressed as Amidala at age 40 or so was such a callback. 😂 czcams.com/video/B8K9jAJ3Ong/video.htmlsi=3cTAAwwosaL2dzDS

They should’ve released it in 2022 for the 20th anniversary but the 25th is coming on 2027 and Rots on 2030
I saw it in 4DX was amazing
Ohh never seen it that way. The podrace probably looks great
"THE PHANTOM MENACE SHOCKS BY COMING IN SECOND AT THE BOX OFFICE" It took in $8 million over the weekend which tells you that 1) It still doesn't really appeal to most Star Wars fans and 2) The modern box office is a train wreck if the the #2 movie of the weekend was a 25 year old movie that is loathed by over half of the fans of the Star Wars franchise and only pulled in $8 million.
