- LAAP PA TONG (LAAP FEATHER FISH)
INGREDIENTS :
Feather fish (Pa tong)
FERMENTED FISH BROTH
(Nam padeak tom)
4-5 cup Water
1/4 cup Fermented fish sauce
HERBS :
Cilantro
Culantro
Green onion
Mint
Vietnamese coriander
4 Kiffir lime leaves, minced
4-5 Galangal slices, minced
SEASONING INGREDIENTS :
1 tsp MSG
2 tbsp Toasted rice powder
1 tbsp Chili powder
1 tsp Salt
Serve with sticky rice and vegetables. Please feel free to adjust seasonings to your liking.

Here in the states, where would I find this fresh fish at?
I bought this from Asian market. Im in Midwest. Some asian markets sell just the fish meat in the frozen aisle.
Can you do it with beef

What other fish alternative?
I think any fish will do, all up to your catch or grocery store,🤔 I wanna try making it with salmon or sturgeon😋
No lime?
Lime acid cooks it. I think that's why they don't use it in this dish, just the herbs and spices with the fish sauce or padek is used and enough to make it 🤔rare.
