  • LAAP PA TONG (LAAP FEATHER FISH)
    INGREDIENTS :
    Feather fish (Pa tong)
    FERMENTED FISH BROTH
    (Nam padeak tom)
    4-5 cup Water
    1/4 cup Fermented fish sauce
    HERBS :
    Cilantro
    Culantro
    Green onion
    Mint
    Vietnamese coriander
    4 Kiffir lime leaves, minced
    4-5 Galangal slices, minced
    SEASONING INGREDIENTS :
    1 tsp MSG
    2 tbsp Toasted rice powder
    1 tbsp Chili powder
    1 tsp Salt
    Serve with sticky rice and vegetables. Please feel free to adjust seasonings to your liking.

    From start to finish... you make that dish exactly just like my dad. He passed away 5 years ago and I've haven't seen anyone make it the way he does until i randomly came upon your video. Though he wasn't as organized s you😅😅😅
    Still the end result was amazing

      I bought this from Asian market. Im in Midwest. Some asian markets sell just the fish meat in the frozen aisle.

      I think any fish will do, all up to your catch or grocery store,🤔 I wanna try making it with salmon or sturgeon😋

      Lime acid cooks it. I think that's why they don't use it in this dish, just the herbs and spices with the fish sauce or padek is used and enough to make it 🤔rare.
