They Don't Give A Damn! Tenn. Repubs RENEGED On Deal, VACATES ENTIRE TSU Board

  • In a controversial move, trustees of Tennessee’s sole publicly funded historically Black university were ousted on Thursday through legislation signed into law by Republican Governor Bill Lee. Critics, including Black lawmakers and community leaders, argue that the predominantly white state leadership unfairly singled out Tennessee State University. The bill swiftly passed the GOP-controlled House in a 66-25 vote on Thursday, with Lee endorsing it shortly after without addressing the contentious nature of the decision. Instead, he commended TSU as a "remarkable institution" while revealing his selection of 10 new replacements.

Especially down in Mississippi. For the last 50 years at least they have been going Washington claiming that they are one of the poorest states in the union but their department of human services is carrying a 92% rejection rate. What a scam. Yet instead of giving the funds to the people that need it they are going to take that very money and pay Brett favre for a speech and a volleyball gym. And Benny Thompson hasn't said a thing. His Azz needs to go also.

Over the past couple of years the enrollment at TSU was exploding so much that a state representative in a hearing asked Dr. Glover point blank why so many students are flocking there and not to UT. That spoke volumes. TSU was drawing students away from other schools. The Grammy the Aristocrat of Bands won also drew heavy interest. So on top of the fact the state owes TSU billions, its popularity was overshadowing the other state schools. @ontherockswithsalt2335 That man is just as much as an American as you. Our black ancestors fought in every war for our own freedoms as well as those of our fellow Americans. As a citizen of this country we have every right to critique something about OUR COUNTRY that we don’t like. We don’t have to just shut up and accept something we don’t like. The point of politics and voting is to effect change. If you want something changed you obviously don’t like it. Critique is part of politics period. But for some reason certain people don’t think black people should have a voice or opinion. We will stay if we want, we will go if we want. You don’t run anything or anybody. And we will not be quiet.

According to the official numbers out of the NCAA, entering the portal and trying your luck somewhere else is by no means a sure thing. In fact, almost half of the players who transfer don't find a new school to attend. The HBCU coaches should recruit those players.

We can’t waste our precious votes and get nothing other than the ability to say “at least it’s not a Republican in office”. That’s not a win if the democrat that is sitting there is not doing anything for their constituents. Democrats have to give us something in exchange for our vote. The attitude of “at least is not a Republican” is not good enough anymore. We need the dems to stop being so passive and fight.
