Freddie Mercury is my definition of a pure artist. RIP Freddie
i only found out the other day, he could do different types of art, he painted and i saw his drawings and fashion sketches, he was a prodigy in so many ways.
In the movie "Highlander" he falls in love and they live her whole lifetime together. She ages and he does not. Yet he stays and loves her til the end. This song plays through this storyline, with him burying her in the Highlands. It's so emotional it is hard to watch. It's a great song and Freddie's voice expresses the pain.
Yes. The great thing about it is that the band watched the movie and then created the music for it. So they had an absolute clear idea of what the movie was about. For instance the song A kind of magic is just a phrase that connor says to a little girl when he is shot and comes back to life. The girl ask him how is he alive to which he replies "shhhh it's a kind of magic".
Beautiful scene that was true love
Yes I absolutely love every single bit of the movie Christopher Lambert 😍And Freddie's emotion in this song fits that scene perfect❤R.I.P. Dear ,beautiful Freddie❤Fly High
@@daveyk71 It is one of my very favorite movies of all time That scene is beautiful❤
I always get a lump in my throat and tears in my eyes when I think of that scene. Movie magic.
Brian May is the guitarist in Queen he wrote this song and sings the intro.
I understand this is a metal channel but Vin and Sori really need to branch out more often just to learn about music.
On the Album A Kind Of Magic,Brian sings the Intro!IThe Movie Highlander(1986) Freddie sings the Intro!!!
@@TimmyBeck100 album and single matters
6 song for HIGHLANDER:
This one written by Brian, and Gimme the Prize
One year of Love by John Deacon
It's a Kind of Magic written by Roger
Friends will be Friends
Princes of the Universe written by Freddie
@@sharonhalliday3180 and what is with Don`t lose your head? czcams.com/video/KdYvKF9O7Y8/video.html ^^
When you said "Boy he could sing" at the beginning, it was Brian May singing. Freddie comes it at 4:21
Love his voice!! It's like warm cocoa with a shot of Kahlua
I was shock when I found out Brian can sing that good...
Joe Monture Have you ever listened to ‘39’ by Queen? That’s Brian singing, too
Lynn Hoffman I’m going to listen to it now.
Joe Monture Hope you liked it!🤗
This is one of the most beautiful songs from the Queen catalog
This is one of the most beautiful songs ever i think..at least for me
Brian May who sings the intro and interlude has an amazing voice too.
I am Duncan MacLeod, born four hundred years ago in the Highlands of Scotland. I am Immortal and I am not alone. For centuries we've waited for the time of the Gathering, when the stroke of a sword and a fall of a head will release the power of the Quickening. In the end, there can be only one.
Connor McLeod. This Duncan chap is but a cheap immitation!
Private Custard love the movies and yes the show is cheap but Duncan the better Highlander
@@theartistformerlyknownasje6358 Then I am afraid you and I are at an impasse. If we ever meet in the flesh........there can be only one!!
Private Custard 😂 well you might catch me hanging out on holy ground 👍
@@theartistformerlyknownasje6358 Happy Halloween!
Queen one of the best bands in the world R.I.P Freddy there will never be another Singer like you ever thank you for your beautiful soul
Freddie.
I agree...but you should listen to Marc Martell. He kind of looks like Freddie, and sounds just like him. Why Brian May & Roger Taylor hired Adam Lambert is beyond me. Good voice, but not Martell's voice which is identical to Mercury's.
Sadly uncredited is that a huge part of this song is Michael Kamen's orchestral composition for Highlander.
Highlander (the first movie) is really worth a watch guys....its a classic. Thanks for the reaction to a very melancholy and emotional song.
Simon King also the tv series is worth watching
It is called prince's of the universe Vin the full theme song for Highlander
Yeah, they need to do a reaction to it now. It's kinda metal-ish. Queen was kinda metal-ish when they first started.
Or Gimme the Prize (Kurgan's Theme). I think I read somewhere that Freddie hurt his voice on that one. Another Brian song.
@@mustangdebbie56 Never heard that he hurt his voice on that song, but I can totally believe it!
Just listening to his badass shouting in Gimme The Prize makes my vocal cords bleed in sympathy... 🤣😂
That's actually a song that I would like to see covered by Axl Rose.
Freddie lives forever through his music.
Brian May wrote this song :)
The theme tune Vin speaks of, wanting a full song of is Princes Of The Universe. It is fabulous, darling.
That's exactly what I came to the comments to say!
@@Slev00 me too!
These guys should absolutely react to Princes Of The Universe, and then Gimme The Prize, and then A Kind of Magic and then Don't Lose Your Head
and finish the Highlander theme with the wonderful One Year Of Love!
Edited because I lost my head and forgot DLYH!
*"HEEEEERE WE AAAAAAARE!!!!!!"*
Christopher lambert appears in the video sword fighting with Freddie Mercury.
You have to see the live performance at Wembley 1986 to see real emotion, stunning. ❤️Freddie❤️
Queen - I Want it All
This song is a... magical song. It's a poem . Greetings from Colombia
Never heard of Brian May, Oh my lord, are you in for a treat when you listen to more of Queens music, he is one of the greatest guitarists ever.
Live version every time either Wembley or Budapest.
That's Brian May singing the opening on the studio version.
White Queen and The March of the Black Queen must see❤️
There can be only one---Freddie Mercury R.I.P.
"Boy he could sing". Brian May: "Thanks! I always knew I could sing better than Freddie. Thanks Vin!"
Who wants to live forever is one of my favourite songs of all time and is the most beautiful. As a Queen fan for 46 years Freddie Mercury still lives in all of his fans in our hearts and minds. RIP Freddie we miss you. 🇬🇧🇬🇧🇬🇧🇬🇧🇬🇧🇬🇧🇬🇧🇬🇧🇬🇧
"boy he could sing" , having no clue thats guitarist Brian May singing that part :)
Yep, true. You'd think they'd do some simple research first.
Queen was hired to write one song for either the opening or the end credits of Highlander. They were so into the concept of the movie that they came back with practically a full album. Of course they used it in the movie to great effect.
Also if you haven't seen Highlander, highly recommended. But avoid all of the sequels. There can be only one.
Vin, the intro to the Highlander TV show is a full song. It’s called Princes of the Universe, and it’s on the same Queen album as Who Wants to Live Forever.
And yes, it is as awesome as you remember.
'Highlander' the movie was set in Scotland with Frenchman Christopher Lambert playing a Scotsman and Scotsman Sean Connery playing an Egyptian - how odd.
Yep, Vin and Sori need to watch the movie. But only the first one! Skip all others. The TV series was pretty good too, worth watching.
And the Egyptian character played by a Scotsman had a Spanish name.
I'll join in on the fun. The Egyptian character with a Spanish name has a fake Scottish accent, even after having spent hundreds of years in Japan.
Shh! It works. Just ignore all the other movies.
By itself the tv series was dope. Also ignore the other movies.
'Lily Of The Valley' from the album 'Sheer Heart Attack'. If you want to hear Freddie at his best.
Lilly of the valley a lovely track from sheer heart attack and for me there finest album.
Freddie’s even better in You Take My Breath Away and in Millionaire Waltz
@@paulsomersetwolf5970 I agree.
@@molokoko786 Also good songs.
@@paulsomersetwolf5970 LILY and THEIR.
The song is sung by Brian May until 4.20 (i.e. on your video) when Freddie takes over. The two share the vocals from then on.
I like you guys....you really owe it to yourselves to watch the first movie. This song will really become clear and hit you hard. So frustrating listening to you guys missing so many key points because you just don't know. When you watch the movie, you will see the sequels and t.v. show were all after thoughts.
Love it! Queen was my first favorite band as a kid. Now they're my 4 year old's favorite, and my 1.5 year old constantly requests WE WILL ROCK YOU!
This song on bohemian Rhapsody moive big Queen fan this song makes me cry
When he sings the line “Who wants to live forever?” I mean, WOW. Goes right through ya!
Forever
Solo piano
Queen
The first movie is sooo much stronger than every spin off of Highlander. In that he finds the "same" love over again. This song is great live too, live at Wembley 1986.
I cried to this song with the film, queen nailed this music for Highlander 💖💓
Hi dear you 2!! Love this reaction, chills, chills, chills. Queen and Freddie, just love them!!! Hope to see more Queen. Thankyou and keep healthy. Much bless ❤
Good song, lots of feels esp. hearing this now. Look after yourselves and the ones you love
The intro song to Highlander is a whole song by Queen called “ Princes Of The Universe “ off the “ It’s A Kind Of Magic” album ( which is also the soundtrack to the Highlander movie.)
This is my favorite Queen song and it’s so overlooked. So much passion and heart in this song.
For more Brian May on vocals check out '39, No One But You (Only The Good Die Young, Sail Away Sweet Sister or the live performance of Since You've Been Gone from the Brighton concert 1993 of Brian May Band (amazing version).
No one but you and Since you've been gone are my top recommendations.
Not sure if you reacted to Innuendo already, that's another must listen!
and "Love of my life" studio version with his vocals
And for the drummer singing check out I'm In Love With My Car. Pretty talented band Vin 😉
What a beautiful song...
What a beautiful Freddie’s voice..!!!
Beyond the words..!!! ❤️
I choke up everytime. So sad so beautiful
So funny that the theme song of Highlander series is also Queen - princes of the universe!
There is a full version of "princes of the universe," the theme from Highlander.
They actually do have a full version of that theme song called princes of the universe. Check it out
Nowhere NEAR as great as the live video!!
You know what I like about you guys.....you actually let the whole song play rather than stop and start it to give your reactions
Sori is so stunning and articulated
Hope you're all safe out there people.
I grew up listening to queen my dad and grandma were hugh queen fans, when I was 4 I called Freddie uncle. When I was a teenager my dad and grandma had to break it to me uncle Freddie was gone first time I cried. R.I.P Uncle Freddie 🌹
You both made me so happy xxx
I've never heard this version. Thank you for sharing.
The first part is sung by Brian May himself:)
Live is amaizing the vocals
The theme song you mentioned was called Princes of the Universe off the album A Kind of Magic
wow you guys have good reaction videos. cuz u dont stop it every 30 seconds like a lot of others. i enjoyed the experience with you, and then discussion afterwards
Highlander promised Heather to light a candle on her birthday which he does 4500 years later in New York. He is double cursed: live forever and love forever
It's worth you watching the first time he sings this 86
Queen - Princes of the Universe (Theme from Highlander)
It's about being immortal and watching all of your friends, family & lovers die knowing that you most likely won't.
One of Queen's most beautiful and emotional songs, written by Brian May who sang the intro and for the movie Highlander
My FAV Queen song!!!!
Queen - Save me (live) montreal 1981
I never heard of this Brian May fella OMG Vin, hes the Queen guitarist, no one sounds like Brian on guitar. You have to go and check out the best version of this ever is when they played it live in Budapest Hungary in 86 one of their last ever gigs, it beats the studio version hands down.
I agree.
Umm, no it doesn't.
The live version in Budapest and Wembley are ten times better than the album version. You are right
@@Nina-oi1qk Budapest is the one to listen to, to me it has a better sound than the Wembley one, the drums sound better for a start, I also think Freddie sings it better
@@Nina-oi1qk 10 times ? What, not 9 or 11 or 153 or 29 times better, definitely 10 ? Album version is better. IMO.
The string arrangements are stunning ..
That reincarnation story line Sori talked about is the plot to the original mummy from 1933 a great movie, his tomb is opened about 1000 or so years later and he sees the reincarnation of his love and becomes obsessed with her and says we could be together for ever. One of Boris Karloffs best movies
it is a full song ...the theme song for the show
Shining stars last almost nothing but stay 4 ever i in our thoughts!!! Let´s just appreciate them and keep them in our hearts
VIn and Sori, there IS a ''full song'' AND Music video of that Highlander Song, it's called ''Princes Of The Universe''. Look it up and yes, do a reaction/review of it soon :)
Finally been waiting for you guys to react to this amazing song great reaction keep up the good work stay safe 😀
The scene in the first Highlander movie where this song plays the Highlander played by Christopher Lambert, his love dies in his arms and he buries her in the Scottish highlands, very tragic and sad scene.
Song always made me feel sad ... mortal.
Loved the TV series way back when. It is on Amazon Prime.
AWESOME!!👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏 THANCKS FREDY!!
You guys is one of my fav reactors,Keep it up!!
Queen is my all time favorite band. I'll have to tell you the story behind the song "The Show Must Go On".
Princes of the Universe
Y'all need to give Dead on Time or Stone Cold Crazy from Queen a shot. Metallica covered Stone Cold Crazy, by the way. Oh, and Vin, there is a full version of the theme. It's called Princes of the Universe and it's great. Don't think you two have done it. And if you're looking for an interesting Queen track to look at lyrically, maybe try something like Liar.
I second Stone Cold Crazy.
@@ms.chuckfu1088 and I second _Princes of the Universe._
Yeah dead on time he’ll yeah that’d my fav era Queen. Freddie in Leather pre stache. Live killers era jazz tour
Strange... i also watch Highlander the series with my mother when i was a kid, and was one of my favorite moments in my life... Im so sad.
Love this reaction!
Never heard of Brian May?? What planet have you been on living on??
Easy there James, if this is the first time they even heard the song then they haven't really heard much of Queen. Give them time.
agreed
Dr Brian May, totally agree.
Zeist
americans dont know much about rest of world sadly, they live in bubble that their media shows them
When 4 genius making music!!!
Just looking back at these reactions and it seems you havent done the most famous live performance of all time which was also Queen at Live Aid 1985. You guys seems to like a back story so if you dont know about it read up on live aid and then you must watch Queens performance which is a medley of their biggest hits, bohemian rhapsody, we will rock you and we are the champions. The audience interaction is breathtaking.
Whenever connor mccloud is asked he always says his first love his bonnie heather
The opening to the Highlander TV show was Queen "Prince's of the universe"
Man do I love this song
There is a full song of the Highlander and TV show Theme that Queen did its called Princes of the Universe. There is even a video with Queen and the actor who plays the Highlander in the movie.
I've just realised that I remember hearing this song for the very first time back in 86'. I was 5 years old and madly in love with rock music because of Queen. Still remember vividly where I was, what I felt and what was going on around me. Now how's that for an impact, influence and music inspiration... Bloody 35 years had passed and that moment feels like yesterday. Imprinted on my brain, heart and soul probably for good.
Thanks for the video guys! Definitely a highlight of this week for me... Stay safe, stay creative and stay away ;) Much Love & Respect to both of you... \m/
Vin and Sori
Both of you should watch Highlander movie because Queen did the whole soundtrack for the movie including this one song. I am not giving out spoilers. But Sori will tear up!
I agree.. I did especially with feathers scenes
It's such an awesome movie👍
Queen - No One But You => best tribute ever
QUEEN!
There is a full song of that. Also by Queen, Princes of the Universe
you have to see the movie of 1986, entire soundtrak of queen
One Year Of Love is my favourite from the Magic album. Freddie always sings ballads beautifully of course.
This is one of my all time favorite songs number one of queen for me
I think "love dies" was a way to mask the connection to the film. It's sort of a rule of soundtrack songs to not state something about the film directly in the song. An example would be the van Halen song "humans being" from the movie "Twister". Originally Sammy was going to write the lyrics and was told not to mention storm chasing but his lyrics were about white knuckles and into the storm or whatever. Eddie then wrote the song that made the soundtrack that doesn't mention driving or weather at all. Nor only does it not poke the fourth wall, but the sing remains timeless as far as lyrical concept goes.
Vince Prince's of the Universe by queen is highlander tv show theme
In the movie Highlander he is from another planet. And in the TV show with Adrian Paul he is Conor McCloud from the Clan McCloud. I loved both.
React to white queen live at the hammersmith 1975
One of my very favorites! The piano/guitar duet is absolutely mesmerizing!
forever is our today
The theme song for Highlander is called Princes of the Universe.
Yes queen did all the music for the movie and the TV series Highlander
