- Deep Purple’s drummer Ian Paice explains how he uses his Roland V-Drums TD-11KV before he hits the stage. As he prepares at home ahead of a Deep Purple tour, the drumming legend takes time out to explain why it’s important to warm up before playing, even after decades in one of the world’s most iconic rock groups…and why his V-Drums kit helps him start the gig ready for action.

That’s a really good point, it does take a few minutes to warm up the matter how long you’ve been playing
Your a legend Ian your advice is borne out of years of top playing . Love your drumming . Thanks for posting
Great Ian,
I like your honesty!
more wisdom from a master...totally agree...been playing V-Drums for around 14 years now.
What a guy
I do this when I play local bars. I set
My kit up in the parking lot of bar. Taking up extra parking lot space I run a power cord extension to bar and warmup for 4 minutes.
really good
Ian oh Ian...the saviour of an hard rock/blues band for not turning into banal heavy metal pattern
Him and Deep Purple as a whole have always been very underrated IMO. I encourage folks to dig deep into their large catalog.
Sounds great !
@ian paice the chief do you still use v drums on tour?
If you play with headphones for a while do you get a headache (even if playing at low volumes)? I used to play a keyboard for many hours with headphones on and got a sort of digital nausea.
Myles Thompson lol
Drink some ginger ale
try playing with earplugs under your headphones?
Ian Paice is his name😂
Ian....drumroll.......Paiste
Would have been nice to spell his name correctly in the video title.. just sayin...
I must be blind...
It is spelt correctly.
@@ianhinrichsendrummer2113 it wasn't originally.. ;)
@@mysticsailor9 Ah.. Ok - well spotted. 👌
He talks about the kit as only something you'd use for practicing on, probably not what Roland really want to advertise lol, they want people buying them and using them on stage, as their main kit.
nobody uses these kits on stage pfff
pro tip: he fucking doesnt, he doesnt use a toy
