How To Clean And Maintain A Weber Gas Grill

  • Cleaning your grill is a great way to reduce the risk of a grease fire and help your Weber gas grill last a long time. It doesn't take a lot of time, but has big benefits in the long run. As an added bonus, this grill is now four and a half years old and some parts of aged better than others. If you've wondered when it is time to replace parts, I go over the most common ones.
    Don't fall into the trap that a dirty grill is just "seasoning." Most of the grilled flavor comes from the meat juices dropping on the flavorizer bars and burning and not last week's meal.
    These are for reference, but you can probably find them locally:

    Simple Green : amzn.to/2ryDocV
    Flavorizer Bars : amzn.to/2q0tQWN

    I didn't mention it, but a good grill cover is an excellent investment. Mine tore after almost three years, but they covered it under warranty!

      We'd call that the grill grate. I was both excited and disappointed that the grate was under warranty. It's nice to get a new one, but I wanted to try some of the aftermarket stainless grates. If I had to buy my own, that is what I would go with. Many of the grates are completely made from stainless rather than plated, which could help them last longer.

    • @GrillTopExperience
      @GrillTopExperience  Před 2 lety

      I like the kind that are all metal except for the end of the handle. That allows you to put the bristle end in the grill with the handle on the outside so you can melt the grease off. If it's been a couple years or if the bristles show signs of wear, it is probably time for a new one.

      I always keep a cover on mine and haven't run into that. Anything abrasive could remove the top layer of the stainless or scratch up the surface, but a lot of people swear by it. You could try cleaning it with vinegar, which is a mild acid to see if it is just surface buildup.
