Hello john I build the same Northrup primary Glider from the Plan out of Outerzone. I have build it for over half a Year ago, but not flying it😅 I am a bit nervous to fly it. My Flying Weight must be around 1500 Grams for the right CG. Is the CG. marking right in the plan? Greetings Timo from Germany.

@@timobarthelmes7740 Hi there Timo, I’ve got my GC set at 80mm back from the leading edge. I was able to get it to balance without adding much extra weight as I built the nose a bit longer than the plan showed, and managed to get the battery nice and far forward.
Good luck with the maiden flight.

@@SlopeRCGliders thanks John for the fast answer, ok that is good to know were the CG. is exactly. I will try to put my battery Pack 4 cells AAA . also in front of the nose, I have also already packet Weight in my Pilot Figures Legs and the Body to get more Weight in the Nose Area, i think i have more Problems with the CG. That you on your Glider because my Construction is much Stronger and then also more heavy than yours. I also took Plywood for all Construction of the "Hull". And only for the Elevator and Rudder and almost for the Wings Balsa. And one more Answer, do you build your leprechaun on yourself or from a Builing Kit ?
      Greetings Timo

@@timobarthelmes7740 I built the Leprechaun from plans which we also downloaded from the Outerzone website. I made quite a few changes to the original design such as removing the wing pylon. Since posting the original video of mine flying, I’m aware that a couple of kit manufacturers have produced a kit with the same modifications.

@@SlopeRCGliders ok that is realy interresting that many manufactures chanched This🤔 so you have to look before you upload a Video also the producers look award to you. Do you have no interress to produce your Models in Kits? So so many people willnhave so such Beautiful gliders you build by yourself, but no one who can build these from plans only from Outerzone can bulid it by himselfs. For me its no Problem to build these fron plans from Outerzone. I already build around 5 or 6 models from Outerzone. Also the Medicine Man but not in Original Size, I upscaled him to 50% more Size, now he has 2,30 Meter Wingspan. And also the Sinbad with only open Windshield with no Canopy like the oldglider models. I build it in 3 Meters Wingspan for towline, and he flys so so beautiful, but i also bulid the sinbad just right now in 2 Meters Wingspan with motor in the Nose, but not finished him yet, have to bulid the Wings only.
I wish you a nice Evening, healthy and many happy Landings.
      Best greetings Timo

Hey! what a blast from my past. In 1978, I had a copy of RC Modeler with these plans and took to enlarging the plans from the mag to full size. Life changes, etc. put into a box that has followed me. Today I find this CZcams video and I am young again. Over the years, I have found that many aircraft builders of the day, took the basic design and made changes to denote their brand. Rounded or elliptical wingtips or even a full body enclosure. I need to go and look at the parts again. RC transmitters and receivers have changed yet again and I feel compelled to complete the mission. I cannot believe this!
    Thank you.

many probably do not realize that these types of "primary gliders" were flown much like this a while before the Wright Bros ever flew .
BTW even the earliest humans were aware of flight. All they had to do was watch the birds .
They even most likely made little gliders, sort of like the little balsa wood gliders we have today, to experiment with. .
