9 years in pro ball is a whole lot more than anyone can dream of. Dude was a huge sccess imo
Dude’s a multimillionaire with a good career. Not many can say the same.
Say what you will about Lin but he had a successful NBA career in my book. His miraculous run in New York alone is inspirational to several fans.
He walked away with a ring?!?! He should be happy and his career was worth it. Many other players played better but never received that ring so he had a great career if you ask me and needs to own up to it. No regrets.
And he left with a chip
@@bobbymobay He didn't contribute much to the Raptors during their NBA Champion 2019 run. Lin is TRASH
No matter what people say about Lin he’s always a hero to me. Seeing him be at peace with his career and playing with his younger brother in Taiwan is really wholesome even if his nba career is over
If you are born with slow twitching muscles like Jeremy Lin and all Asians, how can you compete? it is just genetics. Nothing you can do about genetics or DNA. No matter how much you work at it, your genetics just prevents you. That is why there are no Asians from China with 1.4 Billion and none are in NBA. It is the same with female genetics makes it impossible to compete with men. Look, there are no sprinters from China, Japan, Korea, Indonesia, Vietnam, Cambodia, Malaysia that can compete in these types of running competition as they don't have the muscle fibers that you see in sub-Saharan Africans.
It is no different than intellectual capability also. Google "IQ Map of the World" and you see sub-saharan African countries are lower than anywhere else in the world.
That is why you don't see people ethnically from that part of the world succeed in the STEM (science, technology, engineer, math) discplines even when they move to other parts of the world.
Look back in 1979, China was as poor or poorer than most African states. But, China understood they were poor and backwards, so once Mao died and no longer had dictatorship of China, the CCP then sent their children to study at major universities in the STEM field and bring that knowledge back to China to build their manufacturing and R&D. Afircan countries could do the same but they don't. Diamonds may come from Africa in raw form and there is nothing to stop Africans them from learning how to cut and polish diamonds. But almost all diamonds are sent to India and Europe to be cut and polished to be sold to the retail market. Cocoa beans are needed for chocolate, but Africa doesn't have the engineering talent to build and maintain the engineering to create cholocate to sell at retail level. Same with Arabica and Robusta beans that are not processed in Africa but sent mainly to Europe and America to process where there is the engineering talent to build and maintain equipment to do the processing of the beans.
During the Trans-atlantic slave trade that lasted some 350 years, the African Kingdoms loved selling slaves to the Europeans so they could get guns, gunpowder and rum (liquor). In all that time, why didn't the Africans learn to create their own guns, gunpowder or liquor. When the Japanese, Chinese, Koreans realized how backwards they were compared to Western countries, they turned things around in just 30-40 years. The Japanese were amazed with steam engine ships and then 60 years later they were building aircraft carriers and planes to attack Pearl Harbor.
Dang. I’m just happy to hear he can still walk. That’s awesome he’s still playing period
Yup. When I saw his Beijing Ducks clips, he looked actually happy. He was having fun & smiling.
Averaging 12 points over 9 years and winning a ring to cap it off, not a lot of players can say that. Successful career in my opinion
At the end of the day he got him a ring and no one will forget that linsanity run.
That’s all I remember. I’m just really glad to hear he’s still playing and doing ok. I always liked his story
Really?...with who??
@@keiththomas3817 some ovr seas team. I seen a comment talking about him playing on the same team as his brother
@@keiththomas38172019 raptors
With the raptors
to be fair to him he did play with other ball dominant guards (Harden, Kobe, Kemba) and when he did get the chance to play as the main guy again with the Nets he got injured real bad
That Jermey Lin shot on the raptors head has to be one of the greatest shots in NBA history. Linsanity was in full swing and to hit that shot with the world watching … I still get goosebumps watching that.
*edit* I paused the video to write this and when I restarted I realized you said the exact same thing. Rather then delete it I just want to add an addendum because it really just goes show how big of a moment that was that we both remember it in the same manner.
dude genuinely had an amazing career as a whole. Made enough money to last a lifetime and then some, got a ring in 2019, had one of the most fun runs in sports history. I’m sure it was hard for him not to be the star he wanted to be, but he’s lived an incredible life
Lin was a great sixth man for the Hornets!!!
I’m just happy he ended he’s nba career with a ring
I remember witnessing Linsanity as it happened. The NBA did him dirty... But he's still accomplished far more than people thought he could 🤘🏽
Bad? He was decent in Brooklyn and Charlotte before tearing his ACL(?)
Knick fans prob still think Lin is better of Melo
We do
Knicks fan here that's a wild take lol
@@deshaunreid7728 dude didnt pass brah.
Last I check both melo or lin never won or did sht winning wise in New York lol.
That Toronto game.. for anyone that didn't witness Linsanity live, that game shows you everything you need to know.. that was a *ROAD* game, and yet, it was as if he hit a playoff series winning shot in the Garden. It was incredible to see.
racism is still there in the nba
The NBA is the most racist sports league there is.
It's been shown time and time again Jeremy was shafted. He doesn't fit the typical NBA type. Asian doing well in basketball? They can't have it unless you are a gifted freak like Yao.
NBA is getting more and more boring. I give it 5 years before we have 5v5 string bean teams with no defense and no physicality
the coach on the lakers that year treated him terribly
Dude your editing is NEXT LEVEL
Seriously…it kept me entertained the whole time!!
Bro fuck the NBA. I'm grateful for the talented players that don't have a script written for them but still show out no matter what
Bro had me captivated with the intro.... ONLY TO FKIN RUIN IT... With the corny Betting advert.
Terrible timing. Either do the advert at the beginning or end.
How good was he would be a better video… this is sad man. Don’t do my boy like that
Two things can be true at the same time. First, J-Lin captured the imagination of millions and had a huge cultural impact. Second, J-Lin was a one hit wonder
As much as I don't like the title of the vid, your openings words are spot on: He truly was the NBA's one hit wonder.
Nahhh i never thought of him as a bad player😢
And that’s why everyone calls you a casual 😂😂😂
Dude was overhyped as fuck....let be honest, his 2 week run got so much attention only because he's Asian...
I swear the title was ""How bad was Jeremy Lin" before I paused it and when to sleep last night
Let be real. Lin is not a AS, a good role player at best, that needs the ball to be good.(but have too much turnover) Reasons he out the league because the NBA is a star focus league. If he was in the 90s early 20s. He might still be playing.
Did you record the voice over for the sponsor in a wind tunnel?
Yes
dude made millions playing a game he loves imo he was a success story
Dude is an nba champion. ,can’t complain
Had Lin changed or adjusted his game from being a ball dominant point guard to a catch and shoot shooting guard, I think he would still be playing in the league.
All things considered, he did what he could with the bad cards he was dealt.
At least he gets to retire with a ring, unlike certain ballhogs
He has a ring. More than Charles Barkley can say!
He coulda lasted longer but injuries and poor coaching screwed him
Wish he could’ve stayed healthy, it was kinda obvious he wouldn’t substation his production but i do think he would’ve been a legit starter or really good backup. it doesn’t help that he didn’t excel at one aspect of the game though. of the ball wasn’t in his hands he wasn’t doing anything and if he wasn’t hot he simply wasn’t worth giving large usage. regardless as a new yorker i’ll never forget what he did for the city.
Lin got the last laugh on prima donna melo... a ring
Because of his injuries, lin could've probably been a serviceable, at worst a bridge, PG. Still valuable.
I don't like basketball, never have. Somehow ended up on your channel and love it! Great videos!
Means a lot, thank you!
Calling Harden the 2 guard Melo is crazy crazy shit.
dude was a one hit wonder. come on now
Not the Harvard coach talking shit. Bro I have never heard of anyone playing Harvard
Had a pretty solid career, lot of money plus a ring to add on
At least he won a chip, more than Melo could ever say lmao
Melo is a top 75, first ballot HOF that revived NY basketball and led that team to multiple successful seasons. Jeremy Lin was never close to that calibre of player. Lin dribbled a basketball at centre court to close out games in that finals series. Scrubs "win" NBA championships every year. Why you people choose to scapegoat Melo for Lin's mediocre career when he only played 26 games in a Knicks jersey is beyond me.
It's because he's a 35 yr old, soon to be 36yr old point guard.
That's it
The NBA itself let Jeremy Lin down. Because he is not an American or even African-American. So sad to say racism brought the house down to Lin. One good example of this is when Carmelo asked the management of New York to get Lin out of the Knicks. Instead of sharing the spotlight with a skillful and unknown player like Lin, the management sided with Carmelo. Now, where is Carmelo? He just quietly retired on the sideline without fanfare. Once upon a time, Carmelo is trailing behind Lebron James in popularity with full potential from the Denver Nuggets. That's karma. A young man full of hopes and aspirations suddenly forgotten by time because of racial indifference. Disheartening and frustrating indeed.
way to pull the race card. lin played on 8 different teams and got more chances than most. i think you have it backwards. 🙄
If Jeremy was black, he'd've spent most of his basketball career in the g league or Euro league like black players with comparable talent did. The NBA is a global brand. You don't think the league office (who's second largest market is in basketball hungry China) LOVED having a guy like Lin in the NBA? If Lin was even HALF the player his delusional fanbase suggest he was, he'd still have a contract with a team. Jeremy has the fanbase that he does because of his ethnicity, Melo has fans because of his talent. Melo is a first ballot HOF. Be for real.
@@dillamadukes21 💯
I love this one❤️ ❤
He had a great moment 90 percent of players won't have plus he rich as fuh
Changed the title!?
what was it before?
An actual nba player at least
Jeremy Lin career was ruined by a ton of racism tbh. Black players didn't like an Asian dude cooking them. Black players' fragile masculinity was getting hurt when Lin hit shots over them. Lin suffered some horrible fouls throughout his NBA career without any calls.
Theres plenty of other good or solid west coast schools he coulda went to besides the pac 12
Melo was not jealous of him melo was a better player also I not supposed to let anyone take your spot it's like when we at work and that new person that thinks they know it all comes in nobody likes it same thing
hey do you know who has a ring? not camelo

solid offensive player, but couldn't guard anyone to save his life. dude played 10 years in the NBA, then cried like a ***** when he ran out of chances. cry me a river, dude. no one owes you an NBA career.
100%
yup I could say the same with Isaiah Thomas
He was like Tim Tebow win the game after putting the team in the hole with turnovers 🤦🏾♂️
@@neilbryanbucsit197 IT had the third-highest points-per-game average in the league, and finished fifth in MVP voting with Boston. They are NOT the same caliber of player. Jeremy also made DOUBE the career earnings that Thomas did, in-spite of the gap in talent and productivity. Jeremy's fanboys are so emotionally invested in false narratives that they ignore the blatant preferential treatment he enjoyed BECAUSE of his background, not in spite of it. If he was black, this video and others like it wouldn't exist. No one would care.
He definitely got done dirty.
making 65 million dollars doing something you love before age 35 is getting "done dirty"?
Played in the NBA for more than 5 years and played in some playoffs games having injuries too. I think that was still a success cuz after that he had success in china with all his sponsorships his living well.
Melo wanted to be the only one in the spotlight and Hated on Lin.
Funny how when careers end Melo got his Karma.
Lin left the game as a champion.
Something Melo never did.
Play in or win a Nba finals.
I’m a Melo fan but I’m just saying. Karma has Its ways
why are you a melo fan then
@@maelguiraud3568 He's not a Melo fan. He's regurgitating the same bullshit Jeremy's fanboys have been saying for YEARS now. Jeremy played for multiple teams and enjoyed a career TWICE as long as the NBA average, but guys like this ONLY focus on his brief stint in New York. The rest of his lacklustre career is never mentioned, just the media sensationalized "LINSANITY" run.
Melo was not jealous of him melo was a better player also I not supposed to let anyone take your spot it's like when we at work and that new person that thinks they know it all comes in nobody likes it same thing
