ABOUT FOOD AND FOOTPRINTS:
We are Greg and Jumi, hailing from opposite ends of the globe. Greg is a native New Yorker who was born and raised in Queens NYC and Jumi grew up in the beautiful islands of the Visayas region of the Philippines.
How did we meet? One of us messaged the other on Instagram (before sliding in DM's was even possible through the app!) and we met just after Hurricane Sandy hit NYC in October 2012. Although we grew up in two very different worlds, we bonded over a love of experiences over material things, delicious food and exploration.
We have visited 15+ countries together since December 2014 exploring beaches, ancient temples, bustling streets and ruins. Along the way, we get adrenaline flowing whether paragliding, ziplining, or jetskiing.
To fuel up for our adventures (and everyday life), we eat lots of local food wherever we are. Street food, carts, trucks, hidden gems and family-run sit-downs are our mainstays. We don't cook, but prefer to spend our money on experiences and we treat food as one. Hey, we gotta eat regardless, right? May as well enjoy it and support good businesses while we're at it!
All of this is done while we work full-time at our day jobs. How do we do it? Follow along our journeys and you will learn more. Welcome to our lifestyle!

Melbourne is called little Sri Lanka. So many Sri Lankans restaurants and shops. Go to Dandenong, Nurre Warren. You could buy all these food at MKS at Dandenong and shorteats yum yum.

Few other SL restaurants for you. Araliya, Upali's at Melbourne , Elephant Corridor I would personally recommend . Sorry to post all this, I couldnt believe when you said its hard to find Sri Lankan food.

That lady from new asha is super nice for real.. I heard how nice sri lanken ppl was also.. Also i never knew staten island was keeping this big of a secret,! Kottu roti wow i can smell it from here! The side of curry gives it a little kick too!!
She is a legendary human! The people we met in Sri Lanka were really nice. Haha yeah hopefully this helps turn more people onto Staten Island for Sri Lankan food.

Would love to visit Sri Lanka too! It's high up on our bucket list. Eating food with your hands is the best 🤤👋 kotu roti? Looks amazing the texture I can taste it and mixed in with curry must be heavenly. Chopped up leek potato n jackfruit what vegetables never sounded so good. Kingfish is a lot like sword fish top notch comparison! 😁👍

I've always wanted to try Sri Lankan food, it looks amazing, the lady in the second stop is very sweet, I've only drove by the Staten Island Expressway, will have to make a trip there to try Sri Lanka food, im a fan of old school hip hop, and also when I think about Staten Island, I think about Wu Tang Clan, I love that mural they had of Wu Tang Clan, and I think the Verazano Bridge is $15.
You should definitely take that trip to Staten Island to check out the mural and Sri Lankan food. You should also watch that Wu-Tang documentary. Go visit New Asha and get that legendary hospitality

Never tried sri lankan food. Looks so connected with mother nature and earth with the display of it with it in the banana leaf, the incorporation of the warm spices, comforting grounding dal, sweet tangy of the fruit, and curried vegetables etc. The lady at the second restaurant , so hospitable and lovely. The last restaurant wow with the decor, love the natural textures of your tea mugs and clay like water pitcher. Enjoyed watching you two together and the love between you ❤ ❤. The wu-tang murals, the skyline with the bridges and the water, the NY ( staten island experience. Both of you are werking them sunglasses can look like sunglass models. Love the sunglasses too. Just listening to you guys and feel like we went on food experience adventure with you both. Everything about this video was love!! 👌.
