ABOUT FOOD AND FOOTPRINTS:
We are Greg and Jumi, hailing from opposite ends of the globe. Greg is a native New Yorker who was born and raised in Queens NYC and Jumi grew up in the beautiful islands of the Visayas region of the Philippines.
I havenât had Ethiopian food đ„ in so long ! Got me longing for it .
Oh man you should get some! Try out Makina Cafe someday - awesome truck
that plate is huge! and as you say, nicely presented! đđ
It is! We love the way they present these dishes and eating with hands
Awwwwwww! That was so sweet of Eden, and I love how she said you guys were fans from day 1!
She is really sweet! Been coming to her truck for almost 2 years now. So cool after randomly finding the truck on the street one day
I've been wanting to try Ethiopian for a long time....this is a great start for me to get the ball rolling for Ethiopian food inspiration
Oh man you gotta try it! Hopefully this video inspired you to make a visit to an Ethiopian restaurant soon!
Love how y'all go all out tradition and just eat with those hands. Look at the size of that plate. Dang. Love how Jumi works the camera and is digging into that food. Muti-tasking. That's my girl! đ
Absolutely! We wanted to eat the traditional way, even if it was freezing outside haha. Jumi is a beast!!
Turn It Up World yes we were thinking the same exact thing about them digging in and just eating with their hands đ€! And that plate of all those Ethiopian meat & veggie dishes was huge!
Ethiopian food is still on our list of food to try. Really curious to taste that Ethiopian bread, injera. Looks really interesting! đ
Hope you guys get to try it soon. If you love sourdough flavor, you will love injera
Greg's eyes when he had that first taste of the Awaze sauce. đ
Yessss that Awaze sauce is SO good, guys!
Blessed beđđȘđčđ Ethiopia. Food is a good old-fashioned foodđđČ with no chemicals and if you find it, I'll cook it and thank you for it.
Love that! Thank you for commenting and the good vibes
Great video guys, some exotic food & we can't wait to try ourselves đ€€

Aw man raw beef with chilly and butter that sounds unbelievable đ such a good looking plate of food too ah craving Ethiopian big time now!

That awaze sauce seems like a must try. Love a good samosa.
It is! Really enhanced the flavor of the already tasty sambusa
Authentic awaze is made with berbere and Ethiopian areke (katikala) or you can use other spirits such as uzo or gin if you don't have areke
Eating with hands is just a different experience !
đ€€đ€€đ€€ All those meats ! Ay!!
Love tartare
It really is! You get to feel the food as well as taste it. You must try the kitfo then! So good!
Iâve always wanted to try Ethiopian good đ everything looks delicious. Love the look of ingera itâs like a sponge.

Never had Ethiopian food, looks really good, at first when you bought the food from the good truck I thought the bread was a blunt lol, looks really interesting.
đđđ - definitely check out the truck when you get a chance. You can follow on Instagram @MakinaCafe - they move all around the city during the week and pop up on weekends.
This was in Midtown on 41st & 6th when we went
I loveeee samosa, I remember my school canteen used to sell that and it was one of my favourite food, always looking forward to recess đ
Such a great snack! What a great option to have at a school canteen - much better than public school food in NYC
Lol recess - i look forward to going home haha
Nick and Helmi đđđ always!! I (Greg) used to count down the days left of school and draw calendars in my notebook to cross out each day til Summer
It's crazy I never seen Ethiopian food in a lunch box..the bread was wrapped was a big surprise to me! Haha so dope..love how you dipped the knife and forks and use hands the traditional way
Let alone never seen a food truck
It was a great idea to launch an Ethiopian food truck! Something for everyone with the veggie options too. We had to go in with the hands, even if it was freezing out!

Eden is so nice and we are really happy for her success! Always great to see her and eat her delicious food
You guys are so cute and all that food looks bomb
Thank you so much! It all was bomb
I read about sour crepes injera, it looks like idly đ
It does with the spongy texture! Also similar fermented flavor
Awesome video! Greg is very informative and knowledgeable about the food etc so that's always nice! Now im craving my mom's cooking haha
Thank you so much! Bet your momâs cooking is great
That bread looks like a tortilla but softer, I bet with the lentils is really awesome
Love lentils
Very soft and spongey. It pairs so nicely with the lentils!
A food truck is such a great idea to introduce new food! I don't think I would do very well at eating with my fingers but that springy bread looks very helpful!
It really is! The injera is a great way to eat. Just takes practice to work on eating with fingers
Yâall the best and finding the spots! I swear! đđœđđœđđœ I enjoyed my Ethiopian food experience too!

Yesss thatâs the way to go! Love family style eating
Dude...seriously...never binge-watched a food series until you two. Salivating over New York.
Thank you so much for binge watching our earlier videos! NYC has sooo much incredible food
@@FoodandFootprints We now feel prepared for our New York baseball travels...and finding great restaurants outside Manhattan & Williamsburg. Because there's more to New York than just that.
Hello my friend your video is awesome and interesting, greetings from Peru
Thank you so much! We love Peru by the way
Love eating finger foods. Except when my dad yells me for eating with hands wrong. Jumi has it down pact. That plate at tue restaurant is huge. The hard boil egg is a great touch in the presentation. I need one of Gregâs sweaters since it was -20 degree with wind chill over here.
Same here! Hahahaha. Jumi is a pro at it for sure. Funny thing is that the plate was a âcombo for oneâ đ Really like coating the hard boiled egg into the sauce.
Oh man that is COLD!! Stay warm out there
So colorful! Eating with your hands? This is gonna be interesting...
Yeah! Gotta eat with hands. Looks so nice on the plate on top of injera
Man yen n I both love Ethiopian food. Miss the injera bread especially đ€€ mmmm man the collard green and lentil stu that's some heavenly looking food right there. Wazy sauce had to look that one up đđ always learning something from you Greg.
Yesss remember when you guys filmed it in Auckland last year. Injera is SO good that you can just eat it by itself.
Love the lentils and collard greens - this is the way to eat veggies! Awaze sauce is so flavorful - they could bottle it and sell it if they wanted.
Thank you! Always hope to inform and encourage people to try more food
Looks delicious
It is! Thank you for watching
Lentil sambusa sounds good. We carry those wet wipes everywhere now. You never know what delicious food you will find. haha
It was! We are big fans of lentils and this one was tasty, especially with the awaze sauce! Haha good idea!
oh wow that Ethiopian food looks quite tasty, that traditional bread looks quite interesting too, reminds us of the thicker white spring roll skin :)
It is really tasty! Such a nice tangy flavor in that injera
Ohh gotta try that awaze sauce! Samosas are the perfect finger food!
They should bottle that awaze sauce itâs so good! They sure are
I'm proud to be Ethiopian... The Food is a picture of everything in the culture
đđđ
I use to live in Nigeria, Africa but the Ethiopian food looks so different. I have been meaning to try it. I have heard a lot of good things about it. I canât believe you found a food truck. Baby Rosalie and I have a routine of watching you guys together Sat. Morning. Good to see you guys uploading more often.
Yes - Ethiopian food is very different and delicious. You should definitely try it out sometime. So much flavor!
Cool you used to live in Nigeria. Any favorite Nigerian dishes?
Ahh thatâs a nice Saturday morning routine! Instead of Saturday morning cartoons, itâs Saturday morning food video.
Thank you!! We have been grinding to keep up with one video a week so far this year.
Food and Footprints- Greg and Jumi We can relate with the grind. Unfortunately just like Filipino Food, I have no idea of those Nigerian dishes, I just eat it đ
Definitely - youâve been very consistent with the videos! Haha bet you remember jollof rice
Feels like NYC is a food heaven. You can find anything from Asian to African to European food...wow! What can you not find in NYC?
Great video!
NYC is a food heaven for the variety you can get here - pretty amazing! Thanks a lot, guys!
Never had Ethiopian food. keeping it real going all hands in haha. the bread rolled up is so compact and very convenient.
Yesss the only way! Ethiopian food is awesome - you should try it!
The meat combo platter from second spot looks like heaven in one plate đ€€đ€€
I remember I watched videos from Mark Wiens eating Ethiopian food very similar serving like this, drooling in front of my monitor đ€€đ
It is! Especially with adding in that kitfo. And the mix of veggies on it make it even better all on top of that amazing injera!
Yesss remember when Mark went to Ethiopia
We are also fans of Jumi and Greg !! They are special friends for us too đ
Thank you so much, guys!! Always appreciate the love and support
Definitely on our list next time we are in NYC. We discovered Ethiopian food in Oakland, CA, which has plenty of Ethiopian restaurants. Really enjoyed it, the spices and sharing aspect of it. Yum!
Awesome! It is such a wonderful cuisine and the way of eating it from the injera and with your hands makes it even better
@@FoodandFootprints Am all done with that, that's what I love about Indian food too :) Actually many countries eat with their hands, and it feels like a different experience all together.
Big like!đ
Thank you!
Iâm lateđą bz at work. Hi Eden! Ethiopian food trucks!
Itâs ok, Ema - great to see you! Eden is awesome and so glad she decided to start this truck

Two trucks! Congratulations to her!

zirpa1 Thank you! Have picked it up over the years and enjoy it đ
All I see if wedding band Greg. ;) Love it!
Haha especially with the focus on eating with our hands!
You all live in the most diverse place! Has to be a lot of fun if you're a foodie! Where I live it's not as diverse but we're getting there. Someone just told me there's a soul food truck in town which is a BIG DEAL! There's nothing else like that here.
We do! Definitely one of the best parts about being in NYC and helps you overlook the negative aspects haha.
Hope it continues to get more diverse where you are. Know youâll be right there when new spots open up ready to make some awesome videos!
Food and Footprints- Greg and Jumi Yeah itâs getting there fosho!
Her food truck is awesome
It is! We love Eden and her amazing food
Yes eat it with your hands! I like that rolled up bread.. and just dip it in! Those first bites says it all! đ

Oh man, Doro wat is one of our favorites. Beautiful plate too. Really like the amount of veggies. That's our jam. Lick those fingers bro. Haha You guys are making us hungry. Very cool video guys.
Doro wat is awesome, especially when they serve it with the chicken leg! It was a nice balance of veggies to go with all the meats. Hahaha gotta get all those flavors and not let them go to waste.
Thanks a lot, guys! Glad you enjoyed it. Now time for you guys to get some Ethiopian food!
10Q for trying it, from Ethiopia đȘđč.
It is our pleasure - we love Ethiopian food!
We never tried Ethiopian cuisine before! Would search them here in Toronto!
Bet you can find some there! Definitely try it when you can
soo many different food that you can get in NY
Absolutely! One of the best parts about living here
Toronto needs more food trucks!
Yes! More street food the better
Kitffo and Doro wot is my favorite Ethiopian food yummy đ€€
Soooo tasty! 2 of our favorites
Food and Footprints- Greg and Jumi đâ€ïž
Queen of Sheba, here in Tampa, is the first taste of Ethiopian food for me. I tried their lunch buffet since I had no idea what to expect. I inquired about the bread and the server said; it takes three days to make. Seeing you eating in the traditional way, I wondered if there was a proper hand we should only be using, like in Indian tradition? Do you get the table side coffee service at the restaurant?
Wow an Ethiopian lunch buffet sounds great, and dangerous!
Not sure about the proper hand for Ethiopian food, but generally we eat with the right hand when eating with hands.
Unfortunately not here, but we have seen it done before at other restaurants, including one that even made coffee flavored baklava! So tasty
Food and Footprints- Greg and Jumi , it is such a great idea for the curious and dangerous for us lovers of all food, often! She opened a second spot near USF, last year. COFFEE BAKLAVA!!!!! OMG, breakfast baklava!! And, mid day pick me up baklava!!! I am all in! That I have to find!!!! THANKS, for the insight!!!
Yes!! That was the only time we saw coffee baklava, but that would be great right now. Especially paired with Ethiopian coffee!
Next time Iâm in New York Iâll make sure I find her food truck. Thanks for sharing. I had to stop when you had the raw meat.
Highly recommend! You can follow her on Instagram instagram.com/makinacafe for updates on where she will be. Thank you for watching!
@@FoodandFootprints Thank you so much. God bless!
This looks awesome as always guys. Check out out NY video, we gave you guys a shout out!!
Thank you so much!
Burberry sauce for the chicken leg!! Yes sounds luxury expensive designer chicken!
Hahaha when I was doing captions it popped up as Burberry. Berbere is such a great spice that it tastes luxurious haha
I've had Ethiopian food just once before and it was just okay. Not sure if it was the flavour, or maybe we went to a dud restaurant, or maybe I wished the sour bread was rice đđđ
Thanks for the video, I'll go and try it again, hopefully it's better this time round đđ
Ahh sorry to hear you didnât like it much that one time. Hopefully the restaurant was just a dud.
The truck does serve rice too, but have heard of people ordering half injera and half rice there. Thanks for watching and hope your next Ethiopian food experience is much better!
NYC Oldest African Eatery, Massawa!!! My favorite restaurant period. Massawa, 1239 Amsterdam Ave
New York, NY 10027. The customer service is awesome. đȘđ·đȘđč
Thanks for the info! Have heard about Massawa and will have to try it out someday
Delicious Ethiopian food
