I feel so bad for Elizabeth Short. I know she’s dead and doesn’t realize what’s happened to her image, but the thought that people are out in the world wearing her dead naked corpse on a shirt like it’s nothing breaks my heart. What if that was you? Your sister? Mother?

People just don't think. My best friend was murdered by his partner earlier this year and the articles written (except one) were horrible. Just gruesome and glorifying the violence of it and the comment section... people were saying really terrible stuff and its like, yo, his friends and family see this shit. We're still watching the police carrying evidence bags and belongings out of his house and people are making jokes online.
I just stopped reading any of the news articles. Only one article someone sent me focused on who my friend was and honoring his life rather than sensationalize his death.

similar to the "serial killer memes" you mentioned at the end of the video, have you seen those serial killer/crime tiktoks?? usually i've either encountered jokes about the killers/crimes or POVs like "pov: you go on a date with ted bundy and realize something is wrong..." or something that's supposed to be "edgy" or "suspenseful." they might be interesting to watch and cover on the channel, either as a video of its own or included with memes.

I disagree, even though I'm a huge TC fan as well. The thing with pins and stuff like this is that if you wear it, it shows that you find whatever it is portraying cool, cute or funny. We aren't fans of True Crime because of the killers, but because if the psychology behind them. I'm a fan of the forensics and investigators who work for getting justice for the victims and their families. These crimes are interesting, not great, same goes for real life killers.

I literally found some of the IG posts by typing in the tags... so even though you blurred the names, people can still easily find these posts and shower them with hate. Good job.
In my opinion, if it's making fun of killers and cult leaders (like the Jim Jones tee) then it's okay to laugh at it and wear it. It really stops being okay when it's romanticizing killers and praising them - which the pins and some of the other merch definitely does.
The Elizabeth Short tee is actually disgusting, it makes me feel sick to my core - so I'm on your side here. I just think some merch is produced to make fun of and criticize killers rather than glorify them.
