I think people forget true crime isn't a fandom
If degenerate furry sex can be a fandom, so can true crime. At least I can respect a person who reads about true crime.
@@kimchi8109 I'm gonna be that person and say the furry fandom isn't focused on sex and opposed to the tcc it's completely harmless
@@colorbar.s Explain yiff and the suits with the holes then?
lilperfectpeeper / your bitch as long as they are consenting adults and keep the sexual stuff private they arent hurting anyone, its literally just anthropomorphizing or making cartoon animals
lilperfectpeeper / your bitch as colorbar.s said, the furry fandom doesn’t focus on sex. but of course there’s people that do that.
imagine tattoing ted bundys teeth.... imagine having the mark on your body that caused so much pain to a family, a mark of the last moments of torturing of a girl... its sick
That one I was not expecting
@@AmberL4565 same, i thought the maximum they'd go was tattooing portraits, im still shook tbh
It's beyond disgusting
@Karolina Rönnqvist you are clearly one of those ppl who think being eDgY is so cool, grow up ma'am, the torture of a young woman isn't "badass"
@Karolina Rönnqvist I also have been fan of true crime my whole life (my nana and i used to watch shows about it since i can remember) and id NEVER think that tattooing ted bundys teeth is acceptable. Someone who is a fan of true crime is against this bullshit, only ppl who romanticize criminals would do this. You just happen to be another edge lord who romanticize killers, and thats the tea.
You can be a WWII historian and maybe be fascinated with the psychology behind what happened... but you'd never wear H*tler's face.... so why would you treat a serial killer any different??
Savannah Taylor Exactly!!!!
that’s such a good example, sometimes I feel guilty that i’m interested in true crime
They're the same imo. Hitler 'killed' (indirectly) millions, he is a serial killer.
Yeah that is so true! I haven’t seen one person that loves ww2 be like ‘yeah i wanna fuck hitler’ and i have seen hundreds of true crime lovers say they love and want to be with a serial killer. I don’t see how it’s not the same thing.
I´ve seen people with hitlers potrait tattooed
The minute you stop feeling sympathy for the victims, it's time to back out. The most important part of being interested in true crime is the respect for the victims and protecting the memory of them. Of being so happy that a lot of these people have been caught and can't do this to anyone else, regardless of how interesting their case is.
@Karolina Rönnqvist for the record: it is messed up. Not sure why someone needs to tell you that.
@Carolina Rowan ok but it is, what makes it ok? Is my question. Literally. What. Someone LOST their freedom, life, thier family members lost their loved ones, like wtf. You could cut grass with all that edge of yours
Carolina Rowan loooool ur so edgy dude
Carolina Rowan hey, I know that deep down you’re a really lonely and pathetic person, but can you keep it to yourself?
@Carolina Rowan damn dude you so edgy 😫😫😫 drop the act it's just pathetic
When I see women saying 'Oh, if I were there, I could have fixed them. He wouldn't have turned out that way, because my love would save him?' No, you'd be their practice run...
True. A lot of people see people like that and think it would be romantic if their love could fix them, but in reality, they would be added to the victim list
I feel some pity for women like that, but on the other side, there are women who wished they could have joined in on the carnage and be like bonnie and clyde. You see this a lot with columbine.
MsAquamonkey “I’d literally date a serial killer who’s murdered women for fun, in an attempt to fix him in exchange of dating someone who’s decent and respectful”
MsAquamonkey So true! Everybody thinks they’re “different”, the exception to the rule. Reality, nobody is!
Natsuki you never know
the albert fish one really got me.....someone genuinely got a tattoo of a man who kidnapped, raped, murdered, and then chopped up and ate the bodies of innocent children????????? it's so sad..
He was a truly awful and disgusting human, definitely shouldn’t be a tattoo.
absolutely disgusting. who would want a tattoo of such a vile, disgusting man?
Right? I honestly couldn’t believe that one. They were all terrible of course, but the Albert Fish and the teeth marks ones really freaked me out.
I wish I had just clicked off the video before reading the comments because it just makes me feel ill .. I couldn't even finish reading that case.
Your society venerates child murderers, slavers and rapists. You call them founding fathers.
Serial killers are NOT fictional characters and their actions AREN'T FAIRYTALES. Do NOT treat them as such.
colorbar.s nice pfp my dude
the bite mark tattoo is so appalling. that was on a victims body. i don’t understand how anyone could ever put that on their body.
It also looked well done,,, that took a lot of effort, time, talent, and money all for a heinous fiend
Fucking imbecile is what they are
Shame on the tattooist who also executed the work too
It is extremely disturbing. HE did that to someone and someone decided to get it tatted on them? Appalling.
The tattoo of the teeth marks 😔 makes me so sad
That was the flesh of someone's loved one, bruised and bleeding. Why why why 🤔 these ppl need to be locked up with their obsessions to see how long they last.
Yeah that's really messed up.
agreed, the teeth marks tattoo was the one who shocked me the most...so disgusting that someone who want this permanently on they’re body
My fav one is Jeff Dahmer... he's dead tho :D so how exactly this would work???? (I don't have his tattoo but know a girl who does)
@@eve-marielapierre6202 Ikr, that one was the one that made me tense up. Like how could you do that, wtf is wrong with people?! It is one thing to get a tat of there face, but to go as far and tattoo crime scene evidence photo of a victim on you is crazy, I think it is the worst one of them all.
I wonder what Sarah would think about people that actually fantasize about the victims. Like the whole Black Dahlia thing. I have seen so many tattoos of her face. Is it that they relate to the victim or the killer that is confusing to me.
I do kind of understand the Aileen Wuornos thing, I mean I am not informed completely if there was any of her victims that were just trying to give her a ride and not propositioning her. I should say I don't agree with her actions, but I understand why women relate to that.
I also wonder if Sarah has heard about Sol Pais. Her story was recent and so confusing to me. Was she really wanting to kill people and obsessed of the Columbine killers, or did she just want to die? Plus what senior in high school has the money to by a ticket from Florida to Colorado and a shotgun without her parents knowledge?!
They literally have someone else's trauma on their skin. So weird and sad
Just met Sue Klebold a couple weeks ago at a symposium on mass shootings, and she is such a wonderful, warm, strong lady who has obviously been through more hardship than any human should have to endure but who has dedicated her life to using her pain to help other people. Her book is fantastic, and I got to talk to her for a bit after the symposium and have her sign my copy. My boyfriend happens to bear a slight physical resemblance to Dylan, and when she saw him her face fell a bit and she said, “You remind me of my son Dylan, which of course just breaks my heart.” I wanted so badly to give her a hug. I cannot IMAGINE anyone going up to meet her with a tattoo of her son’s signature or freaking CORPSE on their body. This “trend” is reprehensible.
How did your boyfriend react to that?
Spirit Glass I’ve done pretty extensive research into 4-20-99 (which I’ve just learned is how Littleton residents prefer to refer to the event rather than call it “Columbine”) - reading, watching documentaries and interviews, etc. because I find it to be a really fascinating case. Not in a morbid way, but from a psychological perspective and also regarding the media coverage and the fact that this is an event that sparked many similar events. In doing this research, there have been plenty of times where I’ve talked my poor boyfriend’s ear off about my findings. So I’d actually mentioned to him before that it was a little eerie how much he looks like Dylan (he’s 6’3”, very pale and thin, shoulder-length hair, with a long face and a prominent nose). So when Sue said that, he actually just pointed to me and said, “That’s what she’s told me before.” Haha
♡♡♡
“We all go a little mad sometimes” is actually a quote from Norman Bates in Psycho!
ah thank you for clarifying! haha
I thought it was from Alice in wonderland
Spirit Glass that’s we’re all mad here
Sydney Bishop I think WE'RE ALL MAD HERE.
@Hannah W
That's what I was thinking.
Why does the post say it was a Jeffrey Dahmer quote? Did Jeffrey Dahmer say that, too, or was the person who posted that misinformed?
I agree! It seems like there's a privilege in being so desensitized to violence that you would romanticize someone who caused complete and utter horror to people in their last moments of life. If everyone were able to see photos, crime scene reports, etc. as opposed to looking at it like a "story", it wouldn't be as easy to sterilize these crimes.
Cannot express how much I agree with the comment!
I totally agree!!
"Like when someone says he wants to watch the world burn. You only get to watch when you have the privilege of not being on fire."
@@KattReen I heard that before... I don't know who originally said it. But, I heard it from Contrapoints.
Reminds me of the Capital citizens in the Hunger Games
as much as i understand it’s their job, WHY do tattoo artists agree to do these????? esp the SIGNATURES of eric and dylan????? WHY????????? how do u feel okay about that? gahh
rhiannon lol for money honestly
any tattoo artist with dignity wouldn't agree to do these disgusting pieces. it's all for money.
capitalism makes you do things you may not want at your job so you can afford to live
eden maru i personally feel that it’s simply a matter of respect to the victims and their families. at the end of the day, if u do a piece like this purely for the profit and completely disregard the context of it, u lack both respect and condolence. let’s not forget that tattoo artists CAN refuse to do pieces - why would any artist feel ok being known as “the artist who tattooed the columbine school shooters?” or feel ok recreating the bloody teeth imprint of a serial rapist and murderer that was left on a young woman’s body during her last moments alive? you’d have to be totally disconnected from the reality and monstrosity of their actions to feel ok with that and i feel that there’s no excuse for choosing to ignore such things
The only time I can excuse it is if the artist legitimately doesn't know the origin of the tattoo. But even then, I feel like they should ask first before doing a tattoo.
The bite mark tattoo literally made me gag! So nasty that someone would want that / any of these on their body!!
Imagine working in a tattoo shop, it’s a normal day and you get a customer that sits down and says “yeah I want a tattoo of ted bundys bite marks :)”
I’d be in shock
Chock-alate? 🍫
Shock
Sarah! the glasses tattoo with the lyrics underneath are from a song called “Dahmer and the Limbs” which is entirely from the point of view of (a fictional) someone who is/wants to be Dahmer’s girlfriend, which is... pretty gross and makes the tattoo creepier
Yeah the singer also has a song called "Rampage" which is about a girl in love with a school shooter. However the singer (Nicole Dollanganger) has stated that it's not from her own point of view, it's from the point of view of somebody who would probably get a tattoo like this
She has a couple other songs about killers but none of them glamorize their crimes. Her music focuses on creepy/dark subjects but it’s not to romanticize it.
nicole's music is bubbly but has a gruesome theme, but she has stated before that she is not romanticizing or glamorizing the killers or their crimes
the problem with this sort of music, though, is while her intentions are more satire-centered other people (such as the one with the Dahmer tattoo and the TCC on tumblr) take this at face value and see it as romantic music about the killers, so the point doesn’t actually get through to them.
of course its by nicole dollanganger
i agree with everything you said. serial killer's are not something to love or admire, they are in the spotlight to study and to learn more about mental health from. it makes me sick that people would actually think this is okay...
The caption underneath the picture of Charles Manson’s portrait literally says “my wife got Sharon Tate, so I had to get Manson” WHAT
How on earth do you think “let’s get matching tattoos of a cult leader and his minions’ most famous victim, HOW FUN!” is a reasonable thought process.
I am speechless.
Yeah, why didn’t this person,
get one, of Sharon’s husband,
you know, guy who,
actually loved her?
{P.S. he was director
but I don’t know,
how to spell his name}
@@mirandalyneetestewart3083 Her husband was director Roman Polanski.
Pls omg and there’s murdered Sharon Tate COSTUMES. Like.. what in the world? This world is screwed up.
i think wearing serial killer merch or tattoos is romanticizing the person and i can't really explain why but there's a difference in liking the serial killer themselves and liking the story of said serial killer
reading about the zodiac killer interests me a lot but i don't like the zodiac killer as a person if that makes sense. you have to clearly be passionate about the person to get them tattoo'd on your body and i think that's why it crosses the line
kipp well said
Couldn't have said it better.
the zodiac killer mystery is definitely one of my favorites
the only serial killer i'd ever idolize is someone who goes around killing rapists or something
that was literally aileen wuornos lmao
You shouldn’t.
Salty Tears you should
damn sis I will never justify murder. Just bc they thought the person deserved it(which they do) doesn’t mean they have the right to.
theres a movie about that coming out this year called 'promising young woman' it looks great czcams.com/video/7i5kiFDunk8/video.html
When you mentioned ask a mortician I went crazy
Me too! I love her!
Lindsey Pindsey she’s great!
YEA!!!!!!!
I love her too!
Hayden’s head!
I once saw a person on Twitter raving about how the 'electric chair' memes were offensive because it was disrespectful to the "bisexual legend Aileen Wuornos, who the government killed" (even though she was killed by lethal injection...) it was so weird to read somebody defending a serial killer so vehemently man
Mekenna Waddell wtfffffff, who on earth would defend a serial killer? wtffff omg
I don't think the electric chair meme is funny but the comment by that serial killer fan is terrible. I've seen women in the serial killer fandom say shit like that about killers who were women before though. They frame it as if it's feminist when women murder someone and it's just such a warped idea of what empowerment of women is supposed to be. Makes me so mad.
Many people believed Aileen when she said she shot the men in self defense. She was forced to prostitute herself to survive since she'd been on her own since 13 ish (when her rapist grandfather kicked her out of the house) and clients sexually assaulting the women they hire and killing them isn't unheard of. Tbh I don't think it's entirely impossible for that to have been the truth of what happened
The “bisexual legend”? Jesus have these people read up on the victims and the statements given by their families? If she had killed one man that sexually assaulted her I would understand. But she killed seven. Did they all deserve to die because they were soliciting prostitution? No. Some of them had families and were essentially just normal dudes. She got a taste for blood and ran with it. She should not be defended, regardless of what her childhood and life was like. Plenty of people have horrendous childhoods and DONT grow up to murder seven people. Ridiculous.
Being upset about a killers death and not the victim..... there has to be something mentally wrongZ
i can confirm that the true crime community on tumblr still very much exists
Are there any situations where the serial killer sta's had realized their actions and turned away from the community?
some people seem to treat serial killers as pop culture icons rather than despicable human beings
The woman who Bundy left the bite marks on was actually my second or third cousin. The whole thing happened before I was born, I dont feel like an affected victim or anything, but it still puts into perspective how much these victims were REAL PEOPLE.
Sarah, I super appreciate how much you emphasize respecting victims. I think a lot of the time people think of true crime as just a cool story and not a tragedy l.
The dead guys from columbine with 'best day ever' tattoo was horrifying jfc. The portraits are cringy to me as well. I would never get anything like this, I love tattoos. I am in some fb groups with people who have (multiple) serialkiller tattoos and I honestly don't get it.
I've wanted to get two portraits of my favorite music artists for about 2 years now and I'm still not 100% sure I'd go through with it, but there are people out there who made a conscious decision to put the face of a serial killer on them forever like???? what the heck
Yaay when you get a Charles Manson Tattoo you get a free Swastika on top to be double offensive 👍
V S was thinking the same thing!
I think Manson had a swastika on his forehead
Wow, creative he did
u can still have swastika cuz its a hinduism symbol, not something cruel .Bad people have it doesn't make the symbol or its importance bad.
I honestly want to know how someone could ever justify a tattoo like these. Imagine they killed your parent, sibling, cousin, friend, anything, and then tell me that it's a good thing to permanently put on yourself, or that you'd be ok with someone else idolizing them like that. And exactly what makes someone think that their favorite killer wouldn't kill them too?
Sierra B They justify it because I feel because they don’t know the reality of it.
it's the equivalent of tattooing a swastika or hitler's face.
I never use the word favourite while discussing serial killers. I rather like to ask who is most interesting to the person i might be talking with. I feel this is way more appropriate than asking a favourite.
I really hope this doesn’t get demonetized because I agree with everything your saying and I think others need to here this. I agree completely with the part where you said that people are romanticizing murder when people post things about it every where and almost make it more popular, so thank you for bringing this topic up
so when we think these terrible murders happen “so long ago” but columbine happened a year before i was born, im 18. dahmer was present in the 70s or 80s i can’t remember but that’s when my parents were in high school they’re in their 50s, i don’t see that as “so long ago”.
Yeah but she also meant it as in it didn't happen *to us*/*to the people obsessing* so they feel disconnected from it since it didn't literally happen before their face.
Dahmer commited his crimes in the 70s, 80s and 90s even.
“We all go a little mad sometimes” is from Psycho
I have an old "friend" from high school, (using the term "friend" really really loosely) who has a portrait of Ted Bundy on his calf, that says "Lady Killer" under it 😓
It really made me reconsider if I wanted to continue to have him in my life, because that shit ain't cool.
I co-own a true crime podcast, and I would never imagine wanting a serial killer, or anything related to them on my body.
I would recommend him to a therapist
Wow wtf?
Seeing a whole back piece on a man's body of presumably dozens of killers is just...uh...huge red flag.
If the tattoo artist needs to make the tattoo to be able to pay bills and buy food etc I wouldn't place blame on them. In that case I could understand them doing it, but I don't see why an artist would want to be associated with a tattoo like that. And doing it because someone else would do it anyway is nonchalant imo. Even if someone else would do it, every tattoo artist have the chance to draw a line and take a stand against a stupid idea. I checked the hashtag to fuel my disgust and there are tattoo artists making serial killer flash and promoting these motives, and the language in some captions and the hashtags used by artists seem to promote the idea even more.... so in my opinion it's not only them doing a job, generally speaking.
As an artist I'd rather starve than make art like this. Gotta have standards and common decency. And if they're so apathetic about the content of their "art" why are they even a tattoo artist?
Would be interested to hear your thoughts on the Ted Bundy movie! I totally agree with everything you said in this video. These tattoos/t shirts/etc are in a way enabling or encouraging the behaviour and crimes of these people.
Ewww the one of Manson the info underneath said the wife got Sharon Tate so of course I had to get Manson!
Yeah, just no.🤢🤢🤮🤮
Sarah! Dude! I’m so glad you watch Ask A Mortician! Caitlin is such a cool gal and I value her videos so much!
TBH the portrait of jeffery is actually really good aside from the fact its his face....the artist did an awesome job
Jeannie Keshane right!
It sucks that the talent was was wasted on.... Yeah.
I’d love your thoughts on the obsession with Tate in AHS season 1
nickkingofearth it genuinely annoys me that so many people like him. i would LOVE for her to make a video on him
I for example like him a lot. Not cause of the fact that he killed people but cause he is just hella cute. But he is just a character. That is the only reason why I feel comfortable romanticizing him.I would NEVER romanticize a real shooter or someone who killed people in general cause that is reality. He actually did that.
It's a weird one but given Sarah's new video, she probably isn't that bothered by it. Probably finds it cringe, but Tate wasn't a real murderer and he's made in a way that romanticizes him as a character.
phantom diaries I think the difference is that Tate was designed that way. He’s not a real killer with real victims, so the people who can recognise that and like gonna as a character aren’t bad. Also they picked actors and characteristics for a reason, he’s meant to be liked by at least some of the audience. The show never tried to paint him as 100% the bad guy and they gave perspective and background to his character. So I personally think it’s fine to like his story as long as you’re not walking around liking the crime itself.
I think (at least for me) it’s so easy to like Tate because he’s not introduced as a killer. The audience falls in love with him and then finds out the horrible things he’s done (if my memory serves me correctly)
"We all go a little mad sometimes" is Norman Bates which... How do we feel about people getting tattoos of homicidal fictional character? Is it less disturbing than real life criminals?
I would say fictional characters r on a different category becuz people get a ton of joker and harley Quinn tats and they were criminals with a disturbing realtionship
Yeah it's different. Still cringe but different
Emma Kate it’s definitely different
Well considering she’s wearing a leather face shirt, when she “wouldn’t wear serial killer merch”, I’m going to go a head and think she probably would mind those tattoos as much lol
@@shelbydurand7279I literally was like looking straight at her shirt as she said she wouldn't ever wear serial killer merch lol. I was like ok you're wearing one that's fake
I would never date someone w a serial-killer related tattoo for fear that they are a serial killer... Not a risk I am willing to take lmao
Not to mention the majority are also rapists. That's 100x worse than getting a Brock Turner tattoo.
Good, we wouldn't want to date you either.
What do you think about bands that use serial killers as band names?
Apart from Marilyn Manson, which is a conceptual statement about society's glorification of killers as celebrities anyway.
i've always been fascinated by true crime and the psychology of it so i always refer to them as my favorite cases instead of "favorite serial killers"
YES. I love these kinda videos!! Love you sarah!
im less shook about the sleeves/back pieces cos at that point it seems like "im way into true crime" but with just one its like "im into jeffrey dahmer" which is more... concerning imo
Kyle Hill Both are scary though
i think it's very cool for you to make these videos, especially because you ARE fascinated by true crime and you like horror and stuff. it shows people you can like these things without going too far and glorifying the crimes themselves.
Your videos are always well-made, but in this one especially your point was clear and well-presented, and I appreciate all of the research and thought you put into this video. Great work as usual, Sarah :)
Completely agree with this video. I was aware people did this but had no idea it was pretty much a trend and how popular it is. To me it’s no different than a nazi or slavery tattoo, they all represent horrible people that did horrific things to innocent people. Why would you want that on your body?
Emmy Debae ikr. If artists refuse to do swatstikas and other hate symbols why do they let people get tattoos of people that have actually killed people. It’s insane
thats actually a great thought that hasn't crossed my mind
Please review the movie when it comes out! Love these kind of videos you have a great perspective on this topic
I get genuinely upset hearing about murder, violence and the suffering of others..I can’t even fathom wanting that represented on your body. I have no issue with blood, bones and death if it’s non violent but gore and murder makes me sick to my core. I can’t bear to watch true crime or horror. I’m a very sensitive person so maybe that’s why.
The caption under the Charles Manson tattoo that says "My wife got Sharon Tate so naturally I had to get Mason" That makes it soo much worse it makes me nauseous
As someone who is interested/fascinated by true crime I HATE the question "which one's your favorite". The best thing ever though is when I respond and say that they are all awful people. Yeah they usually don't bring it up with me again.
Girl, I couldn’t help but just cackle at the title and thumbnail knowing (and lovin’) you and seeing your little “omg I can’t believe I’m even making this vid” face. Wtf are people even THINKIN sometimes uhhhhg.
Anyway, you’re awesome 💕 thanks for the upload
Thank you! So true. This is not okay. A family member of mine was murdered and even if they weren’t I’d still be able to see why this is so bad. Have a little empathy people
Aw.. I'm so sorry that happened to you and your family. That nakes it all the nose disgusting:'(
"We all go a little mad sometimes" is a PSYCHO quote; Norman Bates said that to Marion during the parlor scene.
Did a real life serial killer actually say that, too?
I love when my favorite youtubers shout out my other favorite youtubers♡ I love ask a mortician!
Good for you!!! I’m so glad to see people like you putting serial killers and the commercializing or romanticizing in its place. You are so right. Parents need to really watch what their kids are getting into and how deeply plus discuss mental illness, fascination and all the other ways people view this genre. You handled this so well. I hope people really think about this kind of behavior.
LOVE ask a mortician, I just binged all her videos after watching the columbine video. She is fantastic, respectful, and so informative.
"We all go a little mad sometimes" is also a quote from the movie psycho
i have a close friend who has a tattoo that is referencing a school shooting and when i asked her about it she said that she moved from that school after it had happened and she said that she has it to remind her that she survived and that they took so much from her but she doesn’t let that stop her from being successful and carrying on with life
I have a tattoo on my thigh of a quote from a true crime podcast “stay out of the forest” (not a quote from a killer but from the hosts) and I kinda regret getting it cause as much as I’m happy to talk about being interested in true crime, I notice I always emphasise that the quote isn’t from a killer themselves and is a catch phrase from a podcast I used to really like. I couldn’t imagining having a tattoo directly related to a serial killer and being able to explain what it is to people
Now I think I need a Sarah Hawkinson tattoo. Preach girl preach!
Boy : Hey I heard you like bad boys
Girl : yea
Boy :Well I’m bad at everything
Wow I've never heard that one before
love how the intro was 9 min long. love these videos, i did not know this was a problem. thank you for the information
oh god... the first one with the glasses, the lyrics "in my chest, i know" are from the nicole dollanganger song "dahmer and the limbs" which is a romantisisation of dahmer's desire to consume his victims to keep them close to him/inside him forever... beyond fucked up when you know the full context
I love ask a mortician!! I was going to recommend it to you. I'm new here. But I think I like you.
"We all go a little mad sometimes" was a quote from Norman Bates in the movie Psycho. 😕
Thank you for this insight Sarah. I remember seeing the Manson poster and thinking it was awesome - I’m glad to be rethinking the seriousness in this topic. Hope this doesn’t get demonetized, I watched all the ads anyways 💕
i’m so happy to see you posting vids like this again! i want to cover myself in horror tattoos. but fictional horror MOVIES. i think that’s different. i’m sure you agree. i love horror and i do love true crime but i’d NEVER do shit like this. this is awful. it’s disrespectful and so insensitive. for fucks sake this romanticization of these awful people is so scary. great video sarah and i really enjoy listening to you talk!
there's actual killer tattoo flash on insta. one of the captions said 'had lots of fun doing this', on a post about Dahmer tattoos.
in the case of SOME of these I can see tattoo artists not even knowing it's related to serial killers. like quotes and things like that.
anytime i watch your videos it's like you are walking on a tightrope. Where you have all these aspects that you have to balance out between whats okay and what isn't, but it totally makes sense when you are talking about sensitive topics like murder, where you have to balance out the fact that they killed people, and they had horrible childhoods and or mental illness and the families of the victims are suffering but humans fascination. Its cool to watch. You doing a really good job :)
Thanks for this. I also wondered why edgelords love to romanticise the killers themselves. I think my fascination with true crimes comes from a place of "how the hell could this happen?". When you start reading about the stories of the victims and their family members, that's the point when I start feeling incredibly human and raw, It hurts reading about the lives we've lost in such heinous ways.
Your hair is awesome Sarah I have always been interested in true crime but getting a tattoo of any serial killer is almost glorifying a serial killer or criminal great video love you Sarah
it’s all fun and games til it happens to them
"We all go a little mad sometimes" is a quote from Psycho said by Norman Bates, and the first Scream movie also made a reference of it. Which makes me roll my eyes even more at all these people for more reasons than having these tattoos in the first place.
So glad you made a video on this.. there is one particular Instagram person who has a serial killer sleeve and it has always bothered me. I couldn't imagine being such an edgelord, I feel genuinely sad for them.
Would love to see you do a whole video on Aileen. I remember taking a “madness & the dark side” English elective in high school and we watched a documentary about her. I personally believe that she was acting in self defense but would love to hear your thoughts!
She's admitted to killing her victims in cold blood before she was executed. It's in one of the documentaries about her. She was an extremely damaged individual, as most serial killers are.
I actually after watching you’re whole video change my mind lmao thank u for waking me up girl
dude the museum of death in hollywood had me not watching true crime stuff for a good couple months because it had me so shaken. it blows my mind that some people can handle constantly reading about and seeing this stuff. i’ve been into true crime since watching forensic files as a kid with my family and i can look at pretty gruesome things but even i have a line i mentally can’t even cross after so much research and curiosity.
5 adverts on a true crime type video? hell yes am i going to sit through every second because i support my favourite youtubers
omg I love you
I don’t understand it. A girl I work with has a tattoo of a person being hanged.. right on her arm... just something I feel is not a great thing to have shown to everyone in the world....?
I imagine that could make employment a challenge TBH
Just why? I love learning about serial killers but never in my damn life would I ever get a tattoo of a serial killer. People are so screwed up wanting a tattoo of a killer.
Sarah i love this video. You seem so much more energetic and enthused! Keep it up!
Thank u for making a video about this Sarah. It needed to be talked about . Love u
i thumbsed up this video before i even started watching it because i knew i'd agree with everything you'd say!
The caption for the Charles Manson tattoo said “my wife got Sharon Tate so of course I got Manson” Excuse me?? So in their mind a serial killer and their victim is what? Relationship goals????
I mean there are people that have "Relationship goals" under the joker and Harley which imo isn't too much of a stretch.
@@DrCandyStriper the joker and Harley were fictional characters though...these are REAL PEOPLE
@@maddiejoyner8658 I fully acknowledge that. I'm just also making the point that while they may be fictional, their relationship is an archetypal abusive dynamic. Since it's under relationship goals, I'm looking at the dynamic of the relationship rather than the people engaged in it
Dr.CandyStriper that’s true. I personally don’t see them as relationship goals or idealize them as such
A merch commentary video would be amazing, I love your mental health and true crime videos!!
Thank you for making so many good points, especially the point having to do with glorifying these killers and what they've done. On my end; the fact that things like that have been done and that there are people that idolize them, makes me sick to my stomach...
I happened to come across a story a while back about a girl named Junko Furuta who was tortured to death, which a lot of these victims were too and to be aware that these horrific things has actually occured to someone out there kills me! I cried for days...
Imagine You or someone You Love being held captive and having to endure incomprehensible torture and the only thoughts that keep them going are that they'll be with their family again and a replay of memories... they keep hoping they'll get out of it, to keep hanging on.... Their whole worlds are taken away
I love ask a mortician! She makes great videos
ask a mortician is....my hero i love her
I love Ask a Mortician! Awesome channel.
actually could almost not finish this because of how unsettling it was. Like actually made me physically ill but props to you for speaking so eloquently and trying to make people think again about romanticizing killers
This is off topic but you wear so many black shirts. What do you use to keep them from getting faded in the wash? Love your videos never miss one 😊
MotherOfOne that’s a really cute comment 😂 hope she answers you
Gonna assume she washes with cold or warm water and lets her sensitive clothes hang dry.
@@RowanBuchananroabie LOL thanks for answering my question :)
10:23 You know, I think you can use the mind of a serial killer as a big inspiration. In the mind of a psychopath everything is extreme and love is more like an obsession. But just because something is extreme doesn't mean it's bad right?
They do the wrong thing because they want to feel something special. Psychopaths don't fell less then you do they feel more and they want to feel more than a normal human could feel. So if you tattoo something like that it's because you want to make it clear, you mean it in a extreme way.
NEW FAN!! Such a cool video, thought it was so neat to see you shout out ask a mortician, i LOVE her channel! Youre a cool person, I think I'll love this channel!
This is a topic and message that definitely needs to be talked about Great Video
