    Nicely made video, but a word of caution on using annealed copper tube. In my experience copper "work hardens" with vibration and can fracture! My first copper brake lines did exactly that and cracked around the pipe, just at the flare. NO BRAKES !! Yikes.... Take care...

      Thanks for the advice Allan. I have already replaced the copper with steel, as this was a requirement of the mini car club in order to meet the requirements for historic registration.

    Was hoping to see how/where the brake pedal connects up to the master cylinder...still a bit of a mystery to me on my '88 Mini LHD.
    For bleeding, I've recently discovered the gravity method. Attach a hose to bleeder valve, open valve 1/2 turn or so until drops start to flow. just let it drip while you go for a coffee or setup another wheel. Top up reservoir as needed. No pedal action or special tools needed. Works a treat.

      TornadoCAN99 in my mini the brake and clutch pedal assembly bolt under the dash as a complete unit, it only fits in the one position and the rod end of the master cylinder connects to the brake pedal with a clevis pin.

    Are the fittings on the brake buster 3/8 imperial?

    Thank you for the video. My Mini I installed a 7.5 Cooper front disc brake kit and the brakes are atrocious. All new parts, bled, firm pedal. These VH44 boosters are supposedly only for disc brakes but I'm thinking they may help more than what I have now.

      jemo951 It should improve your braking. The boosters were standard to most Australian Minis if the car had discs. One adjustment I have done since making the video is that I needed to move the bracket down and mount the unit lower as it was rubbing on the bonnet support rod.

      @@CafeRacerLab sorry I meant to say I read the VH44 is designed for drum brakes but I figure any added pressure should help. Sounds like you like having it!

    Where can you buy the kit from?

      @CafeRacerLab  Před 3 lety

      Drew Watts I didn't buy as a kit, parts were purchased from mini parts suppliers.
