This has actually reached a level where it's much better than the original SKX, better movement (I like that they went with the NH36), solid end links, solid bracelet, sapphire, decent milled clasp, ceramic bezel insert. And the fact that it's orange is also very suitable as there actually was an orange SKX, the SKX007. Even the indeces line up! 😆 Nice review, I enjoyed it👍
EDIT: of course the orange SKX is the SKX011 🍊🤦🏻♂️

Yeah, like I say in the video, the only one that doesn't really work is the yellow. As the indices get lost a bit.

I like the second hand that is long enough to reach the second markers. Even better than the original.
Like the orange, it is a color I like in general. While I like the bracelets look, not sure I like the brushing difference between it and the case. It certainly is noticeable, just not sure if it is really an issue. But that is getting picky, overall a nice watch. I notice on the last Ali sale that just ended the Heimallr kept coming up, had not noticed that before. Good review!

Good coverage and very bold decision to go with the orange dial mate!, I did enjoy my one with the green Sunburst dial but I've gone with the bronze skx now, although it looks a little different now 😜

Great review. I have an SKX011 that I modified with a stock skx jubilee bracelet. This watch is a great alternative and in many ways superior to the now discontinued Seiko.
Thanks for watching. Yeah I don't know what Seiko are doing at the moment. They keep discontinuing some of their best selling watches. Then bring out a new version not long after, with an inflated price, but the same specs. It makes no sense.
Yep. I love the Seikos I own, but when micro brands are putting out superior products at better prices with better QC, Seiko will lose more and more customers.

The bezel sitting a bit higher is exactly the same as the SKX, and the newer 5kx. You should compare it to an actual SKX watch, they got it spot on. Excellent review, those outdoor shots are great.

I think if i would mod my skx to have a thicker ceramic insert it would look exactly like this, as with its aluminium insert there is already some visible gap. something my non seiko divers don't have. So i think order to be compatible with all the aftermarket skx parts of the modding scene it ended up with that look.
No problems with the crown this time? Looks a bit like you couldn't screw it fully down so that the button doesn't sit on the case and there is still a visible gap. i have that issue with my sd1970.
For the comparison, would you be willing to pop off the bezel ring and check out how the bezel spring mechanism is constructed? there could be some answers how well this will run in the long term use.
With all the different colour option and the day/date nh36 the heimdallr has some plus points even if its more expensive.
It does look really good with the orange dial doesn't it?
As for trying to take the bezel ring off when doing the comparison review. I'll have to see how brave I'm feeling. I haven't done any mods yet and don't want to ruin this lovely watch.
The yellow dial is the reason I bought this Lol.. I always wanted a yellow dial diver. I've got loads of black divers . Orange will prob be next.

Great review as always. I've never been into these bright colourful dials before, but this looks really nice. Haven't noticed that orange dials actually could have sunburst as well, that was a cool feature. That short out door clip (would have loved to see a few seconds more tbh) really made the dial pop.
Hm, I have an original SKX007 and a modded one (which I plan to further mod). Maybe something like this could be a nice addition.. Btw, I read somewhere that the newer Heimdallrs aren't compatible with SKX modding parts anymore due to slightly different measurements. Do anyone know if that's correct? Or have I mixed it up with another brand? Anyway, I'd love to see a comparison video vs the Steeldive SKX homage.

Its the other way round, the newer one is a little more compatible. As far as I know bezel insert is possible. Not the bezel. Dials have always been compatible as they take 28.5mm dials.

Problem is it doesn't look anything like the one in this video sadly. Got one today and the dial is all glossy orange sunburst insta return (saw this mentioned on other CZcams channel) sucks pretty bad when they have to use another picture than what the watch really is to sell it on official website . (Seiko does this also very sad) Maybe make the watch they show in picture on website lol)
I have owned a turtle that was excellent, a Tuna that was very good, but I didn't like the style, and have a Monster on order. Unfortunately the SKX I owned had a dreadful bezel, and the indices weren't placed correctly. Strangely enough though, the bezels were great on my Turtle and Tuna. All that said, it was still technically better than my Seiko SKX

I bought a Heimdallr turtle ages ago and I'm more than pleased with it. However, the lume pip came off. I wonder if the way their pips are attached is a design fault and they all fall off, or if I was just unlucky. As anyone had a similar experience?
That's unfortunate. Did you manage to reattach it? I've not had any issues with mine.
@@HonestWatchReviewsHWR No. When I noticed it wasn't there, I realised it must have fallen off somewhere. You can buy very affordable replacement bezels with the lume pip from Heimdallr, but that's not the point. I think Saint Martin make better quality watches, but they don't do an orange-faced watch at this size, and that's what I'm after. Ho hum . . .

Hate hate hate the sunburst/sunray dial 🤮🤮🤮 I've ordered a flat black dial to replace it with. Truly vomit inducing. Why Heimdallr!?
Mine arrived with the hands fouling so I had an exchange.
It's really heavy which I don't like, and the bracelet a consistent 22mm is ugly.
I got a monster and that has a QC fault too. I'm just unlucky with Heimdallrs. Customer service has been very good so can't complain.
Different strokes for different folks. At least they have a few options.
QC with Chinese watches can be a bit hit or miss. So far I've been lucky with Heimdallrs though. Apart from when they sent me the wrong watch once. Checkout the 'Kanagawa Great Wave' video if you want to know more.

I like the brand. They are great value for money and seem to mostly have no silly QC problems. Great review 👍👍

I have just ordered my 4th. The only issue was a poor bezel on the SKX, which was highlighted in this review. They really are excellent VFM
