Wow.... Not sure about the colours, but I like the idea.... It seems like a work in progress (or it should be)

What is the backpack the people use in this video...? The black one, with white Patagonia logo and drawcord webbing... Cannot find it on the Patagonia web store...?

Good catch! The pack in this video is a prototype for our Spring 2025 Ascensionist Pack 35L, which is a revised version of what we currently offer. We expect to release this version on Feb 1st, 2025.

Doesn't sound like the designer climbs that much mixed or maybe even ice? An all black version would do best. Like the idea, especially if there was a Houdini version

YOU DIDNT PUT PIT ZIPS ON IT. HOW DID YOU GUYS MISS THAT.. epic fail patagucci

I find pit zips not useful for me because if it’s so hot that i need ventilation, i should just take my shell off. That and making sure my baselayers accommodate venting appropriately. Keep pit zips out of technical gear. Leave it for hiking crowd

@@jayheuk you can’t take this shell out. It’s a one piece suit. Also put zip are more appropriate to technical gear specifically designed for alpine environments. Just look at ski jackets. They’re design to help you manage ventilation without having to be exposed to the elements. You can be hot and sweat by exercising even in cold environments, I think you saying leave out zips for hiking gear makes me think you don’t know what you’re taking about. Good day.

@@jayheukhard disagree. Have you ever had to skin or climb hard in a drizzle or rain? Venting heat is crucial when you’re working hard. Pit zips are about as good as you can get when you still want the weather protection a hard shell affords. This suit not including pit zips is really perplexing. There is no way the membrane alone can keep up with offloading moisture created during periods of high exertion.

@@jayheukhmm, how do you figure that?
1St: there is a huge difference in how warm you are, when there is some wind, if you are wearing just a baselayer, vs a baselayer covered by a fully zipped up shell.
2nd: if it’s raining or snowing, you need protection from that, while still dumping heat
3: it’s a 1 piece suit, and you will have a harness and probably a pack over the top, and mountain boots or ski boots, perhaps crampons on your feet. Taking all that stuff off and stripping out of overals, even on flat ground taking it off would be a major endeavor, let alone up a route.
4: it’s meant for hard climbing. Usually you have as small a pack as possible. If you take, what amounts to pants AND jacket, off, where do you put them?

They ran out of zipper after they put that thing on the hood
