I agree that not all 75 would work, but the mere fact that you can possibly get about 60 that do is a massive win. I think it’s a great approach from Steve nonetheless, as it’s a great way to maximize your wardrobe. I can also understand why you didn’t do more things like other shoes and whatnot, because unless you’re a fashion CZcamsr, then you probably don’t realize just how MASSIVE a task it is to put on AND take off 75 different outfits!!! Always appreciate your effort, and the 1 million subs are a direct reflection of that.
It depends on what shades of the various colors he says.
which ones wouldn't work?
It didn’t work because he didn’t listen 😂 he went on to do his own thing.
@@PERFECTDARK10He went on and did his own thing because the light blue and cream shirt would wash out his skin (Making him look like an unhealthy vampire and not a living human). Same would be said if a person with warm/medium complexions (Asians, indians, south americans) would look dull if they wore yellow musturd
The concept is called interchangeability. This is excellent advice for suits in particular, but it applies to most clothing. To have a solid foundational wardrobe you need to have interchangeability between your fits.
The mistake was switching the light blue shirt for the navy zip polo. It made most of the suits look pretty sloppy. The reason Steve Harvey gave those options is because they all work. Great video.
Bingo. Nobody wears a zip up shirt with a suit. It looks idiotic.
Exactly
Polos look weird in a suit.
Right. I’m going to do this, but I’m going to get all 5 suits the same brand and style. The shirts same brand and style button up. I also think just because this guy doesn’t like his completion next to some of those colors doesn’t mean they don’t match. I also want to do a sixth color Burgundy, but not sure what colors it goes with
@@bobbybrooks5846 I went to a Joseph A Bank and they were able to do the five suits right in front of me. It definitely works, if you do it right and don't make the stupid pants and shirt choices this guy did.
This thing with zip is actually no go at all. Light blue shirt it’s a win in all combinations
Accounting for skin tone was smart and accurate. Your assessment of not all combos being created equal was spot on. Best video to date!
TELL ME YOU DONT KNOW HOW TO FOLLOW STEVE HAVRVEY'S DIRECTION WITH STEVE HARVEY'S DIRECTION.
THIS guy missed the ENTIRE ASSIGNMENT.
I feel the response, skin tone can play a part... I've pulled off all 75 combinations for work, and every combination worked for me...
Huge issue was the pants and zip up shirt. The entire line of logic is relying on the traditional idea of a suit, which includes neither a zip up shirt, or those ridiculous jogger looking pants.
They didn't have five *suits* and three shirts.
He sayd powder blue and u have navy
The dark blue zipper polo was not a good trade for a light blue shirt.
All 75 outfits will not work, but for the average person knowing that you have 75 options with only 13 items in your closet (5 suits, 6 shirts, and 2 pairs of shoes) without having to really think, is a win! To the trained eye, all 75 will not work. But, for the average person you are going to look better than most in the stuff that doesnt work
I agree with you, not all the combinations work. I think you are spot on with the earth tones mixed with black and I'll be adding the hound to my collection soon!
I really loved this video! Personally, when I heard that audio I never thought that all 75 outfits would work. But I never thought that someone would ACTUALLY made a video about it; not just showing some outfits, but ACTUALLY explaining why the could or could not work. I really appreciate the effort, great video.
Wow I hope this video blows up cause you took this trend to the next level with this video
The efforts you put for this video! This deserves millions of views! ✨
I just found this guy and I really like his fits! Forget suits. The casual ones with well-tailored sweaters and shirts are enough to give you that classic, timeless elegance.
Not 75, but 40-50, which still is pretty good.
I think that getting a larger sweater to wear over your dress shirt and tie is another great addition for fall seasons. I'm not sure what colors would work exactly because my color sense is terrible
Neon lime green would look great 👌 ...🤣
Holy, the amount of work you put into this is awesome. Thank you so much! And you've earned a subscriber
To be honest suit supply became an absolute banger in my opinion. Not just for suits (which are fantastic) but also for basics like trousers, Chinos, turtlenecks, shirts and they even have decent shoes.
Suit supply is my shit. Great team at the Lennox location in Atlanta.
Hello Marcel, I do agree some of the outfits don’t go together but as you said we did leave out other stuff that you could’ve tried on to see how they go together. Other than that, I did like some of the outfits. Thank for the video! It’s always inspiring!
The look builder tool as SS is dope. Granted, just about everything they sell is out of my budget, but I love to build outfits, take screenshots, and then browse fast fashion brands to see if I can recreate the outfit.
Not sure Suit Supply would approve that abbreviation...
Ss 😮
@@klauskinski4060 Lol not my problem they went with SuitSupply as a name
how did you change the models colour?
Great detail and explanation. Thankyou also for that intro and giving credit where it’s due. Amazing looks! You pulled off really well, and sure that will help plenty of young men that don’t get this lesson at home. Thankyou
I can't get enough of you! You make everything look great!
One of your best videos ever. Thanks for putting so much time & effort, creating this video.🔥❤
just from this video alone I'm subscribing from your dedication to trying all the combinations 👏👏👏 I would not have the patience
Nice, always found that Steve Harvey short interesting, glad you covered it in full detail
Love this!! Always thinking of new ways to elevate my husband's wardrobe
Wow, you've put so much time and effort into this video! Really inspiring
Lot of love for your efforts bro! Yours videos are always on point.
Appreciate the effort you put into this video. Loved it! 🔥❤️
Thank you for this informative, beautiful and fun video!!! ❤ I will be checking out Suit Supply in the near future, for sure!!! Keep the superb content coming and cheers to you always, spectacular Mr. Marcel!!!!! 😀
wow so great work helping alot as always your channel is so important and really effect my style just followed you one 2 years ago and the impact was noticable for every one
I Think all of the outfits looks really good, so it's down to personal preference of the 75 combinations looks.
I like this video and analysis. I agree that most are hits but some are misses. Grey and brown both come in warm and cool tones. For the combos you don’t like -brown jacket/grey pants- it would work better if they are both cool or both warm. You’ve chosen a cool grey and a warm brown. It might be the same with the navy black combos you tried. Although usually cool- black isn’t always black black! All in all, very interesting and I would definitely recommend the five suit idea!
I really appreciate this tutorial. I know Steve Harvey was the one who started the whole conversation/debate but your effort time thank you so much
That`s a HUGE project! Thanks for your sharing!
The efforts you've put in this video is top notch, loved it!
I am about to start college and being a very cautious man and I can say I'm more of a classic guy than today's generation.
So as I don't have anyone to look up to like my dad's style and body type is absolutely different so yeah.
I am really grateful for this video and it will help me a lot. And obviously 75 /75 wasn't possible but out of that around 60 is quite a lot and you can say it's enough for anyone. So great video and kudos to your efforts.. keep up the great work in helping young men like me who are entering these formal places to get knowledgeable
I have 4 suits X 25 shirts X 50 ties = 5.000 combinations and no time to try them all 😜
Bruh
The colors make the difference!!
Big thanks for this video. I also agree with ur opinion about black suit. Don’t think its versatile as most people think
Such a hardworking man he is❤
Great content, thank you so very much! I’m about to buy clothes for work and this helped a lot!
1st of all, Steve Harvey's suggestions were altered with colors he never advised. So you can't really compare your clothes choices. The turtlenecks were a nice variation even though they weren't suggested.
I would suggest that you follow his directions exactly, before doing a critique.
ngl, of all the ones you showed, that brown one is my favorite.
Navy is second
Black I feel is reserved for certain events, not an every day suit for me
Great video, nice to see this in something more than a short/TikTok video
Oooh this is a great video man. I feel a few outfits dont work too well, but nonetheless, even getting around 50 outfits is a major win.
Loved this video. Thanks, Mr. Floruss!
The guy you showed wearing the creamed colored shirt is a friend of mine and that was his BR photo shoot. Glad to see he’s getting big exposure.
A lot of work went into this vid !!!!!!!!!!!!!!! amazing work
Great video and you did great. Ever since I started my style journey, I have kept hearing about versatility. Get this many shirts, shoes, pants, and jackets and they will all work together, which I have always disagreed with. You can't make everything work with everything. This video/experiment proves that. Not the most scientific one, but good enough.
P.S. I probably would ditch the navy quarter zip altogether since it seems like the second thing that ruins the outfits after the black colour of the double-breasted suit.
Yo Marcel! Great video
One question: where is that navy quarter zip from. Really love that
Bro to be honest you look good on all of them, even the ones that work the least. Definitely a good video and thanks for the explanation
Thanks for that Suit Supply look builder tip 🔥
Thank you for this video it really puts it all together
Great work, but you should have kept it to what Steve H. said, regardless of your skin tone. Changing the shirts really made the outfit selection look off.
Very honest, thats what i appreciated 👌
I have that tan flannel one in a 3 piece. Suit supply slaps
I was telling people this when the video circulated, glad you see you proved it. When you own and wear as many suits as I do I've no idea why people presume to take video talk over proven facts
Steve Harvey been wearing suits for ages, lol. He also made it a point to test textures and prints. He didn’t even follow the advice in the OG video 😂
Powder blue shirt or a little dark blue shirt with blue tie on a grey suit looks very good...
I love any video on suiting, the only true men's style constraint. Some of these don't work at all for me and Steve's take on the 75 isn't really workable if you want to maintain a stylish look. Some combinations could be saved with the right shoe but many I would never wear. Great video though Mr Dapper, as always👍
I think this would work better if the shade of some suits were a little different. Solid medium/dark brown suit, medium grey suit, light blue dress shirt, a brown dress shirt where you could leave unbuttoned or add a tie, white sneakers for lighter suits, ox blood dress shoes and light-medium brown dress shoes.
Just my opinion.....
I agree, with both, of them i learned a lot ☺️
Demetrious Levi did a really great video on this concept a while back. It can be done, but I disagree with Steve's choice of colors. I think the shades of the colors Marcel choose didn't do any favors either, as they don't play well together.
I personally don't own a single suit, though I would like to eventually. I work in a business setting and I prefer a more dressed up aesthetic by default, but with 3 jackets, a pretty decent selection of (cheaply acquired, thrifted) high waisted pleated trousers, and a few shirts, I've definitely been able to satisfy both my office's dress code and and my stylistic cravings.
Good, useful video, thank you. With 5 choices of suit, shirt, shoes and ties you actually have over 7,700 permutations, so you can afford to drop a few! Even if you went with 4 choices of each, that's over 1,500. Because there's always the choice of wearing no jacket, or no tie! Many happy days of costume change ahead.
Getting some coloured shoes like Tan oxford, navy blue suede loafers....more shoes will make most fit complete. Nice videos
Can you make a video on the colours that suits well on different types of skins.
Steve can dress, that green outfit you showed😮😮 idk about the leather blue.. But the rest yes
Man I love suits
Brown Turtleneck is a must buy in my opinion
I think whennit comes to the black vs navy for the first suite is vary much a complexions thing
I feel like Navy is more versatile on pale skin while black is more versatile on darker skin
Thank you for the effort!
All are ok and good but some combinations are immaculate. So yo conclude, we can say that yes u can do so much outfit shuffling upto maybe 30 or more
Big fan from Egypt ❤️
you earned a follower and a like🤯
dark navy suit is the first suit and white shirt to start.
I would love to see a video on putting together suit separates or incorporating sports coats into an outfit. I feel like when I try to put together suit separates the texture of a standard suit jacket makes the outfit feel off.
If Steve told us get those 5 things it's true. That man is a the suit king.
I love this video so much
The one absolutely amazing thing that only a few noticed, was that he did all of these combinations with only two pairs of boots.
You are so right being Dark skinned black comes first for us but you knocked it out of the park
LOVE this video
Great video!
I will sub and watch when I need this information
great video. at last one which deserves the epithet Dapper in the title
May I conveniently ask if you incorporate pocket squares with your selections!? I think hang one would be pleasing to the eyes!
I have no idea how to dress and always end up calling my sisters for advise, and 90% of the time they make me change something. I liked the video, gave me an idea of what I'm supposed to be looking for lol
I got a question about flat fronted dress pants because i cannot seem to find information about them and you mentioned your black suit has it. So the basic question is when can you actually wear them, does it make a difference from normal dress pants? And i heard somewhere that if you are more skinny like me it would look better on you, and i'm interested to know how it works exactly. I do got some flat front chino's i wear often and i first thought it was only for chinos or khakis kind of pants
Figure out how often you need to wear a suit.
If you never wear one with work, still own 1-2 for weddings, funerals, interviews and others.
If you sometimes wear one, get 3-5.
If you wear one every day, I'd have roughly 10 to keep in rotation.
Those suits in order.
1. Navy or charcoal
2. The 1 choice you didnt get
3. Black
4. Dark brown
5. Medium gray
6. Medium brown
7. True blue
8. Light gray
9. Tan
10. A tuxedo.
Shirts:
White
Off white
Light blue
White/light blue fine stripes
White/light blue fine checks
With all the accessories (ties, shoes, belts, etc) You'd be entirely taken care of if you did this for at least a year. The only thing that I'd advise against wearing together on this list is choosing not to match a plain white dress shirt with the black suit, and obviously the tuxedo would need its own shirt and bow.
Yeah. My two cents.
I actually really like the combo at 11:54 (black top, white shirt, gray pants). Definitely a bit "out there" but I think I wouldn't say it looks messy - one of my favorite looks from the video tbh. I really like this video concept though
It is actually a classic outfit, this guy doesn’t know much about men’s fashion and it shows. Gentlemen icons like Frank Sinatra and Bing Cosby have worn that outfit and it looks amazing. I have worn it and it works great (looks classy with a white pocket square)
Edición brutal, tendencia N.1.en Estiló al vestir,👌💯
Appreciate the effort.
I enjoyed the informative video. I have a question. I'm curious about the length of the jacket you wore. I bought a sports jacket this time and it was 76.5cm long. I am about 174.5cm tall, so please let me know if the figures are appropriate. Thank you.
A*** for putting this together, Marcel. I would let go of the black double breast and maybe choose very dark grey or espresso single breast suit instead. Also instead of that quarter zip colour, maybe burgundy or dark chocolate brown? Excellent video
Wow. The cut and luxe sheen on that black suit has you looking like a boss! Not one for double breasted unless it’s something very formal but…. man you may have changed my mind 😂
Your liberties taken in shirt changes contributed to fewer options. All the shirts needed to be similar for similar results. But this is educational because some combinations technically work but aren't advisable.
I liked the part where you mentioned the skin tone and color of the fabric, cause sometimes they don't work for me.
Not sure if I missed it an I hope I'm not being rude to ask. Your brown suit wasn't what I pictured which brown is that?
7:02 the navy suit and white shirt brown tie combo was counted twice
what material black suit is that you are wearing?. please tell the material fabric
Capsule wardrobes are a great idea, but I think the overall proposl is just silly. First, practically nobody needs a black suit (outside of specialty careers like bodyguards or undertakers, or perhaps if you have extremely light skin and dark hair). If you need to wear suits all the time in your work life, you'll need to wear them together. And if you don't, there are much better things to own for a given budget and closet size than five suits in five colors. For the price/space of five suits and six dress shirts, there's so much ground you can cover to be well-dressed for many occasions: patterned shirts, summer-material tailoring, dedicated sport coats, and especially casualwear jackets.
So...I really live all the work you put into this video. I think most of the combinations were pretty fly actually. I love the substitution of the tan turtleneck. However, I must say that you didn't actually follow the directions given. I think you could have accounted for complexion by finding shades of each that worked with your skintone. The brown suit was not brown at all. The Greay suit could have been a different shade of gray. The light blue shirt would have been amazing instead of the navy. At least it could have been a navy buttondown shirt. All in all, I think you would have gotten 75 combos that worked if you followed a bit more closely, but you definitely proved that Steve's logic was pretty sound.
The powder blue shirt would have been hella dope on you .
I was looking for this comment I think it would’ve been a win above the navy blue zip polo.
I would opt for black white and light blue shirts.
Steve Harvey was also sugguesting this as a base wardrobe in which he himself started off. Steve's suggestion is perfect for men who don't have much money (still great for men with money) to have the basics and it will look as if they have more outfits than they do plus it will give them diverse looks. His other outfits, of course he's grown to the place where he can be more creative in his looks. You would have been able to create more outfits if you did the 3 different color tops with 5 different color pants without jackets! That is 15 more looks... (Steve Harvy suggested 3 colors, 2 each Dress Shirts). You made 60 in what you see as looks to update.. you missed out on 15 more looks. If you actually used dress shirts it would have been better. It's nothing wrong with having basic ties to match each outfit, yet if you wore ties with some type of design even if it were a quiet one, it will elevate the look. Those basic colors will work for everyone: Black, Navy, Grey, Brown, Tan Suits and White, Cream, and Powder Blue. Tan someone might wear an oatmeal or a taupe color.. just a different variation of the same color. Brown someone may go with chocolate brown or a lighter brown.. and if you add a black dress shirt you can make more looks.. Steve Harvey loves the classic looks because it brings a look of sophistication and respect with it. It shows that a man cares about himself. You can make it a bit casual as you did here.. but it's still not the same energy.
