Kobe Bryant Accident Location Visit

- In my first video of this event I cover 'What' happened. In this video I go to the location of the accident to cover 'Where' it happened. My next video will be the subject of 'Why' it happened.
I would also like to put a correction in here. In the beginning of the video I mention IMC and said it stood for "Immediate Meteorological Conditions". It actually stands for "Instrument Meteorological Conditions".
This is the best way to show us the location. No clickbait, no disrespect, just information and condolences. Love it

You’re so respected for leaving the small piece there, most would take it and maybe even sell it.
It needs to stay there.
I don’t think it would have been disrespectful to take it. It’s litter that doesn’t belong in the environment. It would have been wrong to see it though.

There is nothing wrong with people viewing photos of a disaster. That's how we realize the totality of an event if it were to happen. If more people were exposed to pictures of mangled up bodies that resembled ground beef after car accidents, we'd have more careful drivers.

I often feel like a terrible person when curiosity gets the best of me and I go looking for information about how tragic events unfolded or what the sites looked like. Thank you so much for giving us an informative tour done with such love and respect. Even showing us a small piece of wreckage and returning it, instead of keeping it. Not just that but you noticed that the blue side had bee facing up and reached down to fix it when you placed it and noticed blue side down. The roses. The names, at the end, but also during the entire tour it was all about the aircraft its path, how and why it ended up in that position , but it was always about the event, and never about the celebrity, or a video that was made simply to get clicks and views. Every second of this video is done with so much respect. Thank you so much for giving us a informative tour, while making such a loving respectful video that was in NO way about promotion or clickbait or driving traffic. There should be a memorial there
I agree!
Yess
I don’t think the Bryant family would want that. I’m sure they would rather keep the location unseen to the public and not have to be reminded of it.
There’s already people visiting the site. It’s right off of a trail. I think it would be a great way to commemorate the lives that were lost at that location and for people to pay their respects, kind of like what was done in the Iowa cornfield where Buddy Holly, Ritchie Valens and the Big Bopper’s plane crashed
@@Alex-cd8pw that's true cause people are going to take all the pices if the helicopter by then so before that happens they should make an memorial
I'm a pilot, I would never go in those conditions on that day. It was so foggy! Even the police and news choppers were grounded.
Which is why i put all the blame on him, he took a risk most pilots are told to specifically avoid. Hard to show sympathy when many great lives did not need to end.
Im just asking, is there a device or some sort of equipment on the helicopter that tells you your altitude?

@@puhbrox till this day, I still don't understand why the pilot was going so fast if he doesn't know where he's going. You all can keep saying disorientation but its simple, if you don't know where you're flying, move slowly
Eugene Barretto controlled flight into terrain is one of the biggest killers in smaller aircraft operations sadly. It sounds so simple to avoid and get out of on the ground, but losing your senses whilst being in control is real and pretty scary. Just one of those things. As a pilot judging the weather that day, I’d say it was very touch and go that the flight was going to be completed. Leaving John Wayne under the marine layer is fine and happens every day almost, but it gets sketchy when you’re flying around the mountains and even smaller hills in the LA basin as that layer can be thick & super varied base wise some days. Maybe a bad decision to go, but what’s done is done sadly.

I live 10 minutes from there. Kobe flew over our house when me and my son were in the backyard. It was very unusually foggy that morning. We couldn’t see his helicopter but it was so loud because it was very low. It seemed like only about 15 minutes later came another helicopter, it too was low and loud but I saw for a second that it was a yellow fire department helicopter. Shortly after, my buddies were calling telling me Kobe died. I don’t know how the info got out so quickly. I was really in shock for a couple of day’s especially when I found out there were children on board. There were thousands of people all over the area that day. Nobody seemed to gawk. I think all were mourning and in shock. A very sad day indeed.

What happens when you cant see shit through the mist.. i don't understand how one could say, yeah this looks doable.. then again I'm not a licensed pilot
@@austinmartinez2312 Like the pilot boomeranged..was supposed to keep heading west on the 101..then turned and flew back in the direction of LA? I guess youre right RIP to all.

@@austinmartinez2312 I guess its the same as driving in heavy rain..you figure youve done it before..many times but low and behold you wreck and maybe lose your life..
I wonder if they have the technology to install a switch that would put the helicopter in hover mode when a pilot get disoriented. As always amazing Job Forrest and very respectful thing you did with the flowers,
snowmchristv2 I don’t think that would help, the pilot needs to realize that he is disoriented to hit the button. Also, the pilot should be skilled enough to hover using their instruments.
Good idea though!
This country has been mapped, couldn't GPS tell you what to do or take over?
James Tinsley There is a system called GPWS on most aircraft and helicopters [Ground Proximity Warning System], however it was not installed in this case.
MThef maybe this will make it mandatory .
Thank you. This is by far the best video of information regarding the crash. Makes sense now why they had the body covering in the areas you pointed out as Kobe and his daughters remains would have blazed across the internet. Thank you for the information and showing respect. Terrible Terrible tragedy. RIP to all the lives lost.
Thank you for this video. Very informative & extremely RESPECTFUL! Much appreciated. Kobe would approve. Also thank you for leaving that piece of blue paint in its proper place.
The time you’ve put into your posts is amazing....unfortunately, this happened....
Jerry Neu I think it’s important for people to know.
Forrest Haggerty You are a decent man Forrest. Great upload and channel. 🙏
@@aceofspades2363 , I appreciate it, sometimes you never think about the depth of these things...I sometimes think about the towers, and imagining jumping out of those windows, knowing that would be it....crashing in a plane/or helicopter, horrific, not like the movies...just very sad and I appreciate the insight and the roses...very special touch, you showed humanity and compassion...much needed today....at Forrest...Thank you....
This was really well done and the respect you paid to the victims and the crash site was a class act. RIP to all who lost their lives that morning
Thank you for such a thorough job. Us curious and detail oriented people are grateful for such an awesome contribution!
Thank you for your respectful documentary.. I'm still crying everytime I remember this..💔 may they all rest in peace.💓🕊 my prayers for their families and loved ones..🙏🙏
I bet when he was playing in the nba he never thought he would die in such a random place .. makes me think about how I will die and how it will be
Kobe and his daughter were right with God...that's all that matters when we die
VAZZ 22 Amen!
VAZZ 22 Really? Right with that “god” that exists only in your head? Fuck off with your religious bullshit.
igloo productions No need to be disrespectful.
@@iglooproductions we are known by the fruit that falls from our trees....Kobe and Gianna went to church at 7am that morning. God knows thy heart.
I like how you left the helicopter piece man everything about this incident should stay there.
@Rocky Balboa There is no bodies left just bone fragments.
@@TY-pf6vb You are just fundamentally 100% wrong lol. Yes there were bodies. Cmon now
@@BrandonWS324 Dude he said there are no bodies left anymore
@@garliconionshallot Yup, I am willing to accept when I read something wrong. I must've been high, my mistake..
Yeah so I read this completely wrong so as for everyone calling me out on it, I deserve that lol. I think I was high when I made all these comments
Thank you for respectfully documenting this incident of a tragic loss of life.
I forgot sometimes that he’s gone and it hits me like damn... 😔still can’t believe he’s gone! RIP to all 9
My dad told me "because kobe died on your birthday. You got to make the nba. Follow in his footsteps." I'm 13 and I play basketball for a living. That meant alot to me
Edit: bro I didn't know so much kind people in this world exist bro. Thank you all so much for supporting me I hit my growth spurt and I'm still growing more. But I fractured my thumb and now I'm rusty so. Gonna get back in training. All healed up now. Again thanks guys. May god bless you!
Edit 2: let me rephrase what my dad said
So basically what he meant was I should try and make it to the nba for kobe. That was his dream but he really isn't like what some of you guys say. He's super strict but I'm fine with it. I'm able to be a good person from a good parent
Stay focused
I hope you have success
It was my birthday too. Our birthdays will never be the same as Kobe died on the day. Rest in piece Black Mamba , Gigi and the 7 others 🙏🏼
I hope you have a backup plan because there's a lot of people born on the same day as kobe and they are not in the NBA.
Good luck on that one buddy
IMC is instrument meteorological conditions, meaning pilots must fly by instrument rather than by looking out the window. Thanks for another interesting video. RIP.
Doug Force one day I might be able to get through a video without making a mistake. But I doubt it:)))))
Thank you for pointing it out. I appreciate your comment!
Forrest Haggerty You did a great job, as always! Very informative and respectful. I understand what you mean though, every video I make my mouth doesn’t say what my brain intended! 😀
Doug Force haha... I know exactly what you mean! I put a correction in the description below the video because of you:))). Thank you!

That was beautiful man, thank you. I always wondered what it looked like up close, and you brought all of us there along with you. I pray God be with them and their families.
