- Watch as I and Tim Nevins install the Billet Rotary Store 5 Rotor into the Mazzei Formula Five!
In this video you will learn the following:
1. Peripheral Ports vs Side Ports
2. Radial Water Cooling
3. Engine Bracing with Oil Pan Design
4. Advantages of CNC Billet Engine Components
5. Why I chose Billet Pro / Billet Rotary Store - Auta a dopravní prostředky
I don’t know why you don’t have more attention on this platform. You had the most unique 4 rotor build and now you’re building this to be you are on another level man and it’s pretty interesting to see you do this projects
Probably just because he doesn't upload all that much, the CZcams algorithm loves frequent uploads.
It would be cool to take this car back to the lady you boughtb it from to show her what you did.
I keep thinking this too
Can't wait to see this thing completed
Me too, but im also really enjoying getting tonl follow along with the build like this!
This word doesn't normally come up in my daily routine, the word that comes to mind is beautiful.
Oh boy do I love these new uploads!! The coolest car on youtube hands down
Its crazy that both of my favorite cars are both built by David... I love his old FD and now this... The only other car that comes close is Logan Carswell's NA 4-Rotor... Thing is just crazy.
I so noticed your body language in these clips the excitement is showing and I understand 👌 the fact you mentioned it totally just makes that cool 😎 haha we get you bro. How could any person not be excited with what you are creating 👌
Please tell me that you plan to contact Mazda Japan to showcase this car! Their engineers will literally cry. That company is truely emotionally attached to the rotary engine. The entire company cried when Mad Mike showed them his RX3 wagon. Lastly the engineers of Mazda who built the Furai..... This car will blow them away!
Very long time I don't see a peripheral port, I love the power this can make. I have a First Gen Mazda RX-7 with 12A engine I try to found the 12A plates for eliminate the side port division to create something similar to the peripherals ports. Before I mention the third spark plugs, because the 787B use this for better burner fuel, also I consider to add the third spark plugs for better fuel economy. I like your building.
I can't even imagine the amount of engineering and planning that went into that engine. Great idea with the individual water ports on each rotor housing to maintain uniform temps across all 5 rotors. This thing is going to be a torque monster!! I would imagine you're going to need more bracing from the top and sides to keep that block from rotating in the frame.😲 Can't wait to hear it run.😄👍👍
I was about to queue up a video explaining peripheral port, then you went ahead and did it very well and I understood it easily. Thanks! Been subscribed and following for the rest of this amazing build.
What an immense amount of knowledge due to passion. Incredible. Asking questions for help due to the passion is crazy.
Those extra water blocks on the housings are clever.
I love all the videos coming out in rapid succession now. :)
cant wait to hear this beast sing
So excited to finally get to hear this thing. Absolutely ecstatic to see it ripping around the track.
Just can’t help but like this guy. I’m super excited about this project too David! Cannot wait to hear it breathe its first breaths. So awesome to follow along. Thank you for sharing with us!
Glad to see your posting more videos on this project
David with the billet 5 rotor that is going to break the world with its sound. That is a piece of art man
Its progressing fast now! Can't wait to see the tuning process of this engine and the suspension and everything else. Dialing in this car is gonna be awesome!
Awesome project! great to see the progress, and i hope this will go viral when its finished
this is by far the best car build in youtube history, if you can even call that a car anymore
I'm here to see this. Well done Dave 👍
Absolutely love this!! Great information and insights!
Glad I found your channel . I am looking forward to this build .
Following this build, can't wait to hear this thing run.
Support from Kuwait ✌
Frick'n awesome! My first 3 cars were Rx7 s. Love that Rotary power.
Keep moving forward buddy. We're all waiting on this monster coming to life.. ❤
May I suggest: motor plates connected to the frame on each end, for additional longitudinal stability.
One thing i heard from Chip Foose talking at a car show ,he said..'no matter what project you have ,what motor or swapp you're building....,if you want a reliable & top performing engine ,your main focus needs to be heat management and..'he said..'keep that heat away from that motor'..!!..especially Turbo motors..!!
I love the videos! I was waiting for it and checking the channel (yes I saw the first announcement) and I'm so hyped to hear it in it's full glory, please get an awesome mic and make it not "clip" on the volume... like to hear it breath
This car has a presence really sweet!
This thing's gonna be absolutely WILD when it's completed and I can't wait to see it
I’m looking forward to the ultimate build movie 🍿 all the footage from plan to shredding its first set of slicks. From a random shed in the UK 👍🏼
David the thumbnail is fire!!!
Keep em coming!!
This is gonna be a badass car!
Your car is insane .....love from Greece🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉
this is amazing holy s...... its sooo good
Your doing great champ keep it up
This guy is amazing!!!
This thing is going to sound like a 10k revving V10, I can't wait to hear it.
20k actually
Yaaaa!!!content ❤❤❤
Bro built a spaceship 🎉
Fantastic
Bless you for building this amazing car so we can enjoy it. That motor is not an inexpensive option. What will the power curve be like with that intake port setup, more high rpm, crappy idle?
I think if I got the chance to speak with David, I'd have to fight myself the entire time to not change the subject to music. His knowledge seems to be on the same level to cars and engineering. People like us are few and far between.
nice car and engine bro
Cant wait to hear that Baby screaming 🔥
Beautiful engine.... love the whole extreme type passion projects... did you think you might run 1-5 hardline in/out into each roter to cool them equally??? Seems relatively easy to do for the benefits...
Start the engine up all ready !!!!
Bro said let let's slip this in today 😎
Bro … I just wanna say , this build is just fucking insane !!!
Big fat thumbs up 👍
First comment, David is a bloody legend!!! Keep up the good work
2nd
Considering the effort you've put into this - have you considered electrification down the road? You have this monstrous overpowered engine, with a few super caps and some software/hardware knowhow you could have electric anti-lag that is charged by the engine similar to F1, add in regenerative brakes and small electric motors you could either boost the engine output when you need it most, or even use small electric motors in the front wheels for part time AWD when needed at low speed to get that power to the road.
I'm an engineer myself, and my dream has been to build a rotary platform around capacitors that would do what I described above and more - no huge battery weight, just small boosts from lightweight (comparatively) caps when you need it most.
Either way, this is the most beautiful build I've seen in a very long time, I'm used to the Super-Lap monsters that are crazy mish-mashes of everyone's ideas on how to go faster, and look like the car equivalent of Kowloon walled city, this is a work of art and I'd be terrified of scratching on the track...
By the beard of Zeus....
Question, You consider add a third spark plugs?
Mazzei the rotary king
Uh oh.... Starting to get regular drops. Spring is in the air!
what button do i click for startup notification?
When do we actually get to hear it sing?
when it starts 🤣
Isn't one of the best and I thought patented feature of the billet pro plates that the inserts are replaceable if damage occurs or from long term wear and tear opposed to having to scrap/replace entire housing ? Like difference of rebuildable with parts cost at hundreds of dollars per insert vs full on replacement parts cost in the tens of thousands
This will sound better and be more interesting than modern f1 cars , weird world
Collab with mad mike 🙏🏾🙏🏾
David, did you happen to weigh the short block?
madmike has the 5 rotor na pp 787D which is his version of the 787B but a drift car
THATS SICIIXKXKCKKXKXKXKXKXKX I WANNA HEAR IT RUN BRAHH
WOO
Hope it sounds as good as it looks😂 72°❤
Lets goo.
omg 😮
So when you say Water Injection, it is inside the housing or sprying in the chamber ?
Spraying into the intake manifold runner just like the fuel injectors!
#teamdorito
You cannot stop the happy leg!
the next Mad Max should be done in Australia.
Do you have any thoughts on Rob Dahm and do you plan on doing any collaborations with him in the future?
This guy seems more genuine
Lindo
That’s a lot of motor on those little motor mounts right there😳
Highly doubt those will be the only mounting points.. If you look at the chassis, looks like there will be more bracing coming.
What is the rotor position from 1 to 5 e.g 30 deg, 60 deg. ??
420.69 degrees...😂
How many degrees are the rotors staged from each other, is it an off degree difference because there are 5 and not 4, i would think with a 4 rotor each rotor would be 90 degrees different from one another on the crank
72!
@@dzmazzei i figured it was an odd number. Thanks
Looking good! Can't wait to see it done!
Are u creating a time attack car? Will you take it to pikes peak..That would be sick🎉
Pikes Peak...built for a fast time....maybe not a long time? Would be BADASS tho. Think I'd rip it, how about you? Shit'd get real - real fast IS the literal downside ☠️
@@jasonaldenhaley1 okay Road Atlanta will also be great..
How long is the 5 rotor engine?
Yes
With the right Equipment it will sound like a v10 f1 car these are my expectations
Race robs 4 rotor awd
Or mike's 5 rotor on a circuit
100k only for the CNC Block. Wow!
Dave I love how professional and clean you are with everything you do. You're like a clean freak of the mechanical engineering world and I love everything you do because of it. I'll say right here and now that if I won the lottery I would make a few calls first unrelated to you but many many more calls to your team with a blank check and a request for a-three REALLY SPECIAL somethings. If I can manage to accomplish my goals for the future, hopefully near enough, I'd absolutely be contacting you to design at least half of a car for me and build it.
If I were a billionaire with the wealth of someone like Elon, I guarantee that I would be giving you like a multi-million dollar contract for a car, I would want the most amazing street legal but also race qualified car possible. I would settle for nothing less than capable of 185mph.
Would love to see a work along with Dahm, pretty sure if you need more help he would be that guy
Putting the money to good use.
1 piece of cardboard, and 3 shop rags as stand-offs for the engine hoist speaks for this concept.
hell yeah! use what works! Been using shop rags and cardboard for decades now! Never fails me!
9:1...pump gas queen?
Yeah Build Video!!!
Sub NOW!
Aussies do those rotories
I absolutely love how you're able to speak so eloquently about this motor and at the very least spit out an entire sentence let alone a paragraph.....
without 350 jump Cuts in between like some other self-proclaimed rotary expert on CZcams
hey look a broken confused sexual abuse victim, hating away
Are you referring to Rob Dahm? Because he has never claimed to be any sort of rotary expert, actually quite the opposite. He constantly points out how he has lots to learn and that there will always be tons of people in the industry with more knowledge than him. For the most part he just points out how stupid he is when he messes something up.
And for the jump-cuts, the dude for sure has ADHD or something similar, there's a billion things happening at the same time in that head.
Please drive this car. And not let your friend Leonard enjoy all your hard work alone.
David, will the purpose of this build be for Time Attack? Cheers
Not exactly. Considering I don't hold it against him for wanting to use it as a road car.
Dave seems to do these builds more for the art. Of course he will put the car to its tests and limits, but, I dont see him competing competitively with it. Although, you would hear zero complaints from me if it turns into a competitive track car!
No. For fun. No competition
The explanation lies within his other recent videos. Watch them all
@@JonHop1I doubt the car would fit in any pre-existing class, making competitive racing kind of hard, unless he were to do another, track-specific build
Very good
Jeeez that is a unit of a rotary
You weigh it??
I’d guess you did
RIP motor mounts
Saat 12:00 16:00 crank
I beleved that porn was not allowed on CZcams 🤤
Rob dahm can learn something from this guy.
wow...
it's not even about that. i wouldn't even compare them. video output and goals differ so much. this is much worth the wait and rob constantly throws gems. drama isn't needed
Highly doubt, but a work along would be fantastic
@@ChutneyInc. Agreed. Why are people always whipping up needless (and usually unfounded) controversy and infighting where it doesn't exist? Especially ironic given that both and here for fun, entertainment and education.
I’m just saying this guy build a “working 4 rotor” and is already almost done with a working 5 rotor and Rob is still trying to “dial in a 4 rotor” I’m just saying Rob can learn a lot from this guy, I’m not trying to stir up drama.
