- Felt great to get back out on the Freeride Turbo today! The sled ran flawless and strong. I was worried I was going to miss the polaris today but that wasn't the case, I felt right at home on the ski doo still. Im stoked that Im able to jump back and forth between the two chassis with no issues.
Im going to put the Day number in the lower left corner of the thumbnails now so its easier to keep track of the day.
Day 15 was another great day spent in the BC backcountry

I immediately noticed this motor sounds way better and stronger than blown one. Never sounded right and definitely not like your 21. First time I heard you rise the doo I commented to my wife that it sounded different than last years one. I’d say it was a matter of time, defective from the start. Hope the new motor exceeds your expectations.

Ski doo sounds a little quieter which I think makes it sound like it's a bit smoother. The Polaris is louder I think because of the added boost and power.

I like the skidoo sound more because its smooter. The polarisk looks like it runs weird. When you start it it makes black smoke and not the skidoo

The Polaris is loud, but the ski doo has a nicer tone. But I don’t think there TO loud I feel like it sound more aggressive

You are a great rider, doesn't matter which sled you are on. At the end of the season, you will decide on which sled you like better, Doo guys will be pissed, or the Poo guys will be pissed. Either way, ride whichever one you like the best, or whichever manufacturer offers you the deal! 😉

POLARIS VS SKIDOO!! the age old battle! ...i started riding to go skiiing up the akoklex, at the farm i worked at, i traded a set of skiis i had for a 2002 summit with 8000kms on it like 10 years ago, i was a noob went riding alone, up frisby and ripped my recoil out while down in some hole and sat in there for and easy a couple hours listening for ppl nearby... trying to find the trail in the fog before everyone started to head out hopoing to find someone coming out before dark.. thankfully someone did find me in there, this was before everyone was rockin BCA, GPS and all the right gear.. these random dudes saved my ass.. the sled is still there i never found it even after going back so many of times over the years, digging random holes, probing, metal detector, lol... (maybe shady got it for parts) I learned alot that day, i learned i could have started the sled on the clutch side, i learned i could have flagged trees where i left it.. but most importantly i leaned.. that it doesnt matter brand u ride, how new it is, or how baller your skills are, but to have solid bros, make a game plan if u split and dont have radios, and most importantly to go out, have a blast, and keep the vibe positve!

I’m a Ski Doo guy but I’ve tried to be open to hear the insightful, objective comments Matt’s making about the Polaris. I think I do prefer the sound of the Ski Doo turbo. The wastegate sound is more refined and the engine generally sounds smoother. Makes me pretty sure next year I’ll be on a Summit X Turbo 175! Braaaaaap! Whoosh!

I’d also be curious to have you compare the Doo Turbo 154 2.5 to the 3” you’re on. I’m seeing under load track speeds of 48+ on my 154 2.5 where I believe the 3” Doo gets 41-42-43 at best. I’m neck and neck with the two 165 Polaris boosts I’ve lined up against. Full disclosure, I weigh 10-30lbs less than my riding buddies but the Boost psi on the Polaris is double what the Doo is putting out and the weight of the Matrix is also less. On a climb with set up snow the Matrix boost 165 had a 54 mph with me on it and my 154 2,5 Doo was 58-61mph. Don’t get me wrong, the Matrix is awesome. Just relaying what I’m seeing real world so far.
I like the sound of the Poo better and the 7s display. Now they just need the shot hott start. Either way both sleds are dominating the industry! Keep doing what your doing!

Your thoughts matched mine from my experience. Doo is definitely smoother downhill carving and a smoother power delivery. If you could combine parts from both you’d make the ideal sled.

Nice one man! Just got back to Alaska, first ride tomorrow! Picked up the Polaris 850 RMK from the shop, drove it 10 minutes and it died and wouldn't start again. I think I'm done. Would rather ride a Polaris any day of the week for the handling but the skidoo takes the cake hands down for reliability in my experience of owning both doos and polaris the last decade or so.

To me the Ski Doo has more of a high-pitched whistle and the Polaris sounds like a jet engine. I think I like the Polaris a little better - but I love the sound of both machine's wastegates too! Big props to your dealer for taking care of you so quick!

Your videos are so much fun to watch. For those of us who are lucky to get out a couple times a month when we don’t have a lot of snow, I just watch your videos and it seems as if it keeps my brain in tune with riding. I find myself shifting my body around anticipating the terrain you are riding. I know of no other person who is giving an honest comparison of the sleds. My experience is that they are both incredible machines with the Doo being more refined while leading the way in tech advances while the Poo is a bit more edgy as it pushes the limits of their machine. It’s ironic that your Doo broke when the Poo is notorious for that.
Proof is in the pudding. As I remember at the end of this video another doo falling apart.

I like the turbo sound of the Khaos better, but I could see it being too annoying after some time. I've had both RMK and Summit before, but I've enjoyed watching you on the Khaos more, I think having the belt drive compared to chain drive gives more track speed and response on the Polaris. It will be exciting to see what Ski Doo comes back with as far as boost and power.
have you ever tried any four stroke yamaha like a sidewinder if you have what do you feel about them.
