You don't see much of the cars because they are in the massive basement parking and several multi level parking in the Greenbelt and Glorieta area.

Oh come on, don't be that person. When people say 'Manila' they are referring to Metro Manila.
That place is not Manila. That is Makati. Manila is the old district of Metro Manila. Which is the capital of the Philippines.
He probably meant Metro Manila, and Makati is part of Metro Manila, in general. I'm sure he knows that already!
Ah just shut up. What we all call London, Bangkok, Paris, Tokyo, LA are all the same as Metro Manila = Metro areas. (Greater London, Greater Bangkok, Metro Paris, Metro Tokyo, Greater LA). Metro Manila is not some special place that you will expect foreigners to say in a special way. Will you ever say 'pupunta ako sa Metro Tokyo/Greater London?' No you wont. And we all know it. We just say Tokyo, London etc, when we mean the Metro areas. So stop the hypocrisy. "Manila" is what refers to the entire Metropolitan Manila/NCR when speaking internationally. Get over it.
Metro Manila or simply Manila is acceptable for ages.
