  • In this blues guitar lick lesson I'm going to show you some fun licks in the key of B. These licks blend together both major and minor pentatonic and shift between positions 1, 5, and 4. We will begin by reverse raking an F diminished triad (F-Ab-B). You could also view it as a B diminished 7 triad without the minor 3rd. Then we start incorporating some major tonalities like the major 3rd 4th and 6th. We will also use the b7( A ) as a passing tone while connecting minor and major. There's a few double stop bends thrown in as well. This really helps drive home the bluesy vibe. Having said all of that, I do not think about any of these things while I am playing. I really just use my ears to play what I hear in my head. Information is just that. Information. The journey of a musician is to learn the Information, memorize it, apply it, and then forget it. Forget it in the sense that things become second nature and thinking gets replaced by feeling. This is where freedom lies. That's what we're all trying to obtain. I hope you find something useful here you can add to your playing. Until next time, practice with a beat and have fun! ‪@borderlineguitarguy‬. • Classic Tootsie Roll C...
