Hehe, yeah I know this one. Problem is after your impressionable girlfriend looks at you in awe, a minute or two goes by and she starts to realize I can't REALLY play anything else than this and a few kiddie songs, fragments of songs... then finally, I have to admit "I'm really a bass player."
Well said
So true like when your boyfriend then says " f--king AWESOME play some Stevie Ray!!
No one has shorter impressive lessons like you bro
Thanks so much man!
Mark Zabel has same concept for videos on electric
Nicely played. I’ve been playing for about 25 years on & off . Haven’t played at a gig for about 10 - 15 years. You have got me inspired again. And bagged yourself a new subscriber 👍
What a cool lesson! I’m an intermediate and appreciate the pace and explanation you provide. Subscribed!
First time I have ever watched a video once and actually am able to play it by the end of it. Thank you!

I recently bought a Martin SC13e Special and I love it! It is so easy to play and sounds great plugged in and unplugged. I wish you luck in finding your next guita, and thank you for the awesome lessons!

A marvellously simple lesson, delivering an impressive end result. This is the way to give people, particularly youngsters, a passion for guitar playing.
aye and IM 60 and absolutely loving it, (bloody ageist, LOL)
Your a breath of fresh air Tony thanks Colin 😊
Great lesson. Thanks!!!
Totally appreciate you doing this Tony..........straightforward demo of how to brighten up otherwise mundane chords.......especially for people writing songs about....anything really .......subscribed and liked, thanks again.
My early 90’s Martin m-36 is my favorite acoustic I have ever had. And so comfortable to play for hours with no shoulder strain
Blueridge BR-180 2007 Natural just bought this. I’ve played for 50 years, played them all , had most of them. This is the prettiest, and nicest sounding acoustic I’ve ever played .
Great teaching,You made it easy for me to learn this little riff. Thank you very much. We need more good talent like you....👍🙏🏼🤘🎸🎸🎸🎸🎸

This lick is perfect for the intro of a friend's song, from the 90's! Now I can cover it cooler! Thanks so much!
Love your videos. I have a Martin Seth Avett that is awesome! A little less ornate, but still awesome is the cs35-11. Both have beautiful tone woods and separate themselves from the pack.
Awesome!! Thank you!! Can’t wait to get home and rip this!!
Brilliant, just subscribed. Thanks Tony
Nice lick. Thank you for sharing.
Nice. I can learn this. I'm 60, and picked up my first guitar 4 years ago. This is what I was looking for. Thanks.

Humming bird guitars are awesome. I hope to buy one one day.
Nice guitar tone.
Enjoying the videos. They’re nice and succinct so easy to get your head around and then apply. The classic linking lick has a John Lee Hooker ‘Boom, Boom, Boom’ vibe.
Thanks man! So glad you are enjoying the vidz! Yeah totally! Classic 🎸
Amazing about time I got my act together as this was just the best. 😊
Excellent
Thanks for that enjoyed playing that
Reaaly enjoy your ‘right to the point’ teaching style. I have a Martin OOO-15M. Amazing sound esp for a smaller guitar.
Yes I’ve had a ooo15 for a couple of years now, great guitar.
Thank you, I will try to practice this. I've only started playing a year ago, so I need this!

Great teacher
Thanks for that lesson amazing
My pleasure!
Hi Tony, I've just got myself a Breedlove...and it s lovely
Thank you! very helpful. re guitars: Ive owned and played many over the years. By far the best I have (sound quality and playability) is my 2013 Martin OM-28V. Love the modified V neck shape and the punch and tone makes it a very versatile instrument.
Nice riff
very enjoyable, you lessons really are hleping me wiht my arthitis in my righ thand, to the pint wherie can only really strum
Very handy tutorial thank you this may take me to the next skill milestone 👍
Thank you!👍👍
I am playing a old ovation with fiberglass back, wonderful tone.
I recently got a Breedlove and I think it is the best acoustic I have played.
Breedlove is a highly underrated company. I have a Breedlove, pro series, 6 string acoustic electric… Breedlove acoustic electric bass Breedlove pro series 12 string. The sound coming out of all of them is incredible, especially the 12 string… the sound is like nothing I ever heard before… Almost sounds like an acoustic guitar on steroids in Dolby surround. I’ve become a huge fan of acoustic electric bass guitars over the past few years. Simply because, I can pick it up and start playing some random notes, come up with a catchy bass line and build the song around it.
Not having to plug-in and the ability to walk around the neighborhood with it at 3 AM and create the beginnings of a song to be. Same thing goes for the six and 12 string acoustics. Just an overall joy to play. The same or better quality than a Martin at a fraction of the cost. I actually sold my Martin 12 string after playing the Breedlove… It just had an overall better, more dynamic and fuller sound. With incredible low end, nice, mid range, and a sharp, high-end, without any twang or tinge. It just sounds like you’re playing three or four guitars at a time.
Heavenly is the only way I can describe it. Same thing with the six string and ‘slapping da bass, mon’. LoL. definitely a great video. Keep doing what you do and enjoy every second of every day, like it’s your last.
I've got a mahogany Breedlove passport I picked up about 10 years ago and it's been a trooper. Maybe not the biggest sounding guitar or lightest, but it plays well. It's now my primary half-step guitar.
I have a Breedlove as well. Love it, incredibly stable tuning.
Martin 000-28
Thanks mate. Very well done Subscribed
Just came across this - what a fantastic teacher you are Tony have subscribed. Do you have the tabs for those licks, would love to practice them
Thanks, that is fun to play.
Awesome! Thanks for watching too! Glad you enjoyed it!
I enjoy your videos, thank you in 2018 I bought a new martin 000 15 .I have played it ever since . I have had it twice to a luthier for a truss rod tweak ....it's a great guitar
Great stuff Tony! Love your lessons - simple tips that really add flavour to acoustic playing - brilliant!!! I'm really a fan of Taylor acoustics - I think they have magic added to their tone, and playability... @MarkTwrites
I have a Taylor 818e. Love it
Gibson J-45. A great addition to that D-28.
I bought a heavily used Martin 000-15. I love it.
Great lesson man thank you. I learned a lot as I love playing the John Lee Hooker lick.
I’ve played a Crafter bowl-back (FX-550EQ) for many years and love the way it cuts through… but my ‘goto’ acoustic is an old Walden D350 that I put ball-end classical strings on - and I play that one about 70% of the time - for jazz and blues!
Pretty cool thanks
New subscriber, this makes me want to pick up my guitar again. Thank you for your inspiration.
Great! This is what I was waiting for... 😊
Glad you liked it! Thank you so much my friend!
Love my fender newporter. Low action makes it easy to bar for my smaller hands.
My go to acoustic is my Hagstrom Dagra, awesome guitar great sound
As usual, great stuff, thanks for another great little lesson
Aw thanks man! You are very welcome!
I have a Furch Blue OMc- CM....It has a beautiful clarity and sustain....really lovely sound and well priced (and many thanks for your ideas and inspiration)
Thanks
Find video Tony, love your tutorials. Take care from the eastend.
Just purchased a Martin D42 Modern Deluxe. Love it.
Love this thanks
You are so welcome! I'm glad!
My go to at home and abroad is my Taylor mini travel guitar…. Awesome to play, awesome sound! 👍🏼
Another great lesson! Thanks a million! I use a Fender Redondo for the big sounds and a PRS A20 Tonaré for the smaller sounds.
Awesome thanks man! Never tried one of them, need to give it a bash!
Excellent I just need to put some time into it, cheers
That lil single note riff is similar to wish you were here solo. Love it! Thanks man!! SUBSCRIBED!
Cole Clark An2. Just bought mine… unbelievable guitar.
My go to guitar is the best I've owned and I've been playing and buying guitars since the 60's - Martin Johnny Cash Signature D-35. Sound of the gods.
Ooooh you are speaking my language my friend! The D35 is what I’m most inclined to right now 😍 love the rich sound
