Great video, I really dislike that Sparrows follower. The other problem is that with repeated use it will start to loose the threading on the end, which is the whole reason you need it!

Man well laid out! Some locks love being bullied, while others absolutely need light to set anything. Crazy how tensioning is everything in this game. I’m heavy handed and do use more tools because of it. Though i also get more opens using heavy over light. But boy locks will let ya know when they dont like to be bullied 😝. Really cool series.
Thanks. Heavy tension has it’s place but if you’re fighting to get a pin into place lightening the tension just lets you stop fighting your own progress. It’s like stomping the gas while holding the brake to the floor.
I apply heavy tension to find a binding pin then release enough tension until the pin moves without forcing it. The pin should move smoothly with light to medium pick pressure

As someone right there learning these things and the mistakes I make, being right here at the level learning from what you are sharing. But I didn't want to presume, or seem to try to ride your coattails. Let me know if that would be OK, and thanks again for doing this.
These lessons are great! There are some subtleties here that you show that even someone who is familiar with the basics can learn from :) I have a lock that used to be easy for me to pick but now I can't open anymore without the key which turns relatively smoothly. It is cheap with no security pins, and can't be gutted, and the feedback is very weird like the pins may have been scratched or dented from heavy tension or something making it hard to differentiate between the pin states. Have you run into old locks that should be easy picks but aren't? Can you maybe talk about what could be going on in such a situation? Thanks again for these videos!
What lock is it? Some locks have soft cores from made from pot metal which can deform over time, heavy tension just helps wear them away until feedback can be very difficult to understand.
