10 YEAR OLD OIL VS NEW! Plus silaging!
Vložit
- čas přidán 28. 05. 2020
- The old engine oil in the tractor was really bad and not healthy for it so I gave it a quick clean out and refreshed it with some new oil.
Plus, a quick trip to see some local silaging happening in our area.

The DB is running pretty well and smooth. Them old JDs are in great order
Most of the oil fillers are a the fuel pump on the 90 and 94 series.
I looked into replacing the pump in my 1594, added up to quite a lot once I got it to Australia, so for the minimal work it does, I fitted an oil gauge and will be fitting a warning buzzer in the near future. Glenn
Same with me bud, it’s only going to do a day or two work, not full time so I’m in the same boat for now
0:55 - gaskets always seems to half rip off 🙄. Meaning you cannot re-use them (I know ideally you shouldn't) but also you have to spend ages scraping the old gasket remains off both surfaces.
Subscribed.
I own and run the dairy farm here at home in Ireland. I always had an interest in repairing farm machinery. Currently replacing the brakes in my 272 Leyland.
Great to see your dB get anew lease of life. Great videos and dialogue.
Kind regards from kilkenny, Ireland
May Lord have mercy on you for having a Leyland. We got rid of the last one on our farm in the late early 2000's.
This channel needs a lot more recognition great vids
Thanks, I appreciate that
Great video Tom 😎👍
Thanks mate 👍🏻
Great video mate, david brown sounds good, that forager is nice vintage machine.
It’s weird hearing it called vintage as it’s our main machine 😂 but you’re right it is

Jimmy thanks mate. Hoping to have a new video every Friday 👍🏻

Hi , did you change the oil in the fuel injection pump as well as the engine ? Well done on your vidieo
Can we have some more vids from your farm
What grade oil did you use? Great vid keep it up👌
I went to be like you ☺️
Quick question would be very much appreciated as I am doing up a 1690 after being parked up 15+ years. Do you know where I could source a engine oil pump?
Nice to hear of another one saved. Try Barclay Williams or DB tractor parts. Both are good suppliers
Hey I’m having trouble with figuring out how to fixe the piston liners on my restoration of my 1410 I’m 17 and trying to get it restored as it was my grandads tractor 20 years ago
If you join the David Brown group on Facebook, those guys are really good with answering stuff like that

That oil looked awful silver. Hope no damage was done with the pick up tube clogged.
It did have a silver cast in places, no filings though. There was still oil pressure so I think it was still picking enough up
Dont eat your camera next time 🤣🤣🤣🤣👍👍🚜
Tastes good with a little honey 🍯
Be careful you dont want to eat your camera or it may spoil your dinner.
Poor engine!
