On January 1st, 2015 a new forum goes live. Kids are using it to organize the trolling of twitch streamers. It was created by a 14-year-old from his bedroom in Portugal. Fast forward and he’s running one of the largest English-speaking cybercrime forums, facilitating the sale of millions of dollars in stolen data. In this documentary, we explore the story of RaidForums. How Diogo Coelho, a teen troll, turned into a cyber kingpin before it all came crashing down.

All went from simple usernames and trolling & swatting streamers to becoming straight cyber crime & cyber terrorism.
Yeah swatting is a cyber crime, people die from it…

LMFAOOO you got a the FinestSquad Profile picture 12 years old skid 🤡💩
Probably it's the same type of mentality? 🤷🏻♂️
how crazy it is for me that every single person has his own lore with all different motivations setting up to the case
Yup, that's completely true. All people were once very tiny creatures that took years and years to grow into the size they are, and learn to do the things that they do. Society and the people within it don't just spawn into existence one day based on some RNG crunching numbers . If that is surprising to some people, they've been playing too many video games. :)
Oh man this was a bizarre video to watch. I used to be really good friends with shaz and celaeon and I still talk to them once every blue moon these days. The first twitch raiding forum was actually called blackforums, made to coordinate raids for celaeons channel. It was small and was just used to coordinate these twitch raids but it eventually turned into raidforums. I had talked to omnipotent many times, he was just some 13 year old skid that made a forum for them to coordinate raids lol. My mind was blown when I saw that raidforums had been seized by the FBI for databreaches lol. I completely forgot raidforums existed, had absolutely no clue what it had turned in to.
thats so wild
I saw these raid videos on CZcams quite awhile ago. Now I know who’s behind all these.
good times
Ayo me too, I was apart of "Le Meme Team" with Cridet/Zachecho, Leroy and some others, actually met up with Celaeon and Summit for beers a few years ago. What was your RF name? I was Based_Callum lmao.
@@lolrip-ir7mx I never even had a raidforums account. I remember your name though. I also remember leroy. Fweep is the username I use for most stuff. I met up with mooey, shaz and celaeon at one point though lol. Went to an anime convention, got drunk for the first time.
This is a fantastic video Crumb, you've outdone yourself!
I appreciate that :)
I love these child gamer hackers, turned illegal cyber millionaires videos you have put out. Please do more!
He wasn't a hacker, nor did he hack games, and he wasn't a millionaire either. He made 250k lmao. The guy doesn't know how to hack/code. He literally just used a template to start a forum and directed people from the trolling hype to his site.

Did I just see Habbo hotel? I .. I used to troll with my friend and dance in the entrance door way of some of the most popular rooms in that game .. preventing anyone from moving forward / into the room.
I am sorry ex habbo players & cybersexers. We thought it was hilarious, I still get a small chuckle from remembering it if I'm being honest.
Oh the power given to us when they made our characters solid. If someone stood on a path and it was a character sized path (1 block) it would block everyone behind. Well done devs. Used to like to type in that my keyboard was broken which threw people into a rage. Ahh.. sorry, I suppress my urge to troll now and have been mostly free from it for quite a few years. Never mean trolling though maybe just a little frustrating like blocking doors in games.
Man, this is very different from the runescape type of content. However, the way that you narrate this is so natural to you. Keep it up Crumb!
I absolutely love everything in this video except one thing.
Tony Hunt is an under-rated Australian icon. He's the man that created Have I Been Pwned and does a lot of work sharing information about cyber security both online and in lectures. He's a very smart man that I feel should have had a little more of his history in the video. Do yourself a favor and go spend 5 minutes reading up about him.
Again, awesome video well put together, I love the new videos!
I love what he does, even emailed him asking permission to use his video in this and got the nicest response back. I 100% should have formally introduced him

"if you're tired of childish looking games, check out this extremely childish looking game"
My next favorite part of that ad is when he tells us to come find him playing that garbage looking game.
Trolling is fine to an extent, but when it goes this far, the people deserve to rot in prison, hell as well
I think a big issue is that there is a fine line between the "everyone can laugh at this" sort of trolling, including the person who is the butt of the joke, and being a jerk. This fine line is so very easy to cross, especially if you involve a group of trolls wanting to up each other, escalating behavior, or reason for it to escalate such as someone turning more "dark and egy", and so forth and so forth. Ergo, it easily goes from harmless pranksters and just having fun with everyone to malicious megalomaniacal power tripping, death threats, ruining lives, and laughing like a hyena when peoples lives are subjected to horror and suffering while the perpetrators continue to keep doing hate crimes, targeted harassment, cyber crimes, and so forth. There is a reason most trolls display pretty sadistic tendencies, and why trolling is a common behavior shared by all sorts of shady folk who slide down the ramp into big crime: It's an easy slope to slide down. All starts from the harmless "we can all laugh" prankster stuff usually too, or from very lowgrade stuff such as just being annoying on purpose to anger others.
lol
@Abraham Johnathan If we are talking penalties for cybercrime - which, mind you, is a meditated long term act- I tend to disagree with sentencing needing to be very light. However! The idea of going to jail (correctional facilities as they are called) ought to be about reforming. So it should not be so much done out of wanting to punish someone, but more to put a stop to their rampage, a prolonged time out if you will, during which they should get access to mental healthcare which helps them work on the underlying issues that lead to this sort of behavior. In every single nation with data available, mental health issues are shown to be very disproportionate high for the prison population of inmates, which means that had they gotten the help they needed earlier, odds are they would never have ended up in the slammer.
While indeed a punishment does not really work as a deterrent, it is worth remembering that becoming a criminal can stem from many issues. Reforming is always possible, if said people are given the help they need. A part of this help can be a prison sentence, however this means you need the prison system to be designed to actually help these folk reform, rather than just be made to punish and dehumanize them.
The penalty for crime also needs to always fairly fit what one did. With cybercrime, this also needs to be the case. While a troll who steps past the line into doing cybercrime may not think much of what they do until caught, their actions can definitely cause massive harm even if we remove loss of life from the equation. So if we are talking penalties, they need to be in scale to what someone did, plus the harm it causes to their victims. So yes, I do agree with you there are some times when the crimes are light enough that probation, fines, or needing to pay victim's compensation is adequate.
However, there are also many things that go way past any sort of acceptability, and can be traumatizing for victims. For such cases, especially if there are many victims, for the sake of justice, some jail time might just be in order to put the message across loud and clear that this is not acceptable, and should not be tolerated. It would also offer said troll some time to get help, cause what some trolls do (usually shocking displays of a total lack of empathy and a ruthless want to cause suffering to their victims) clearly shows they do have issues that could use help.
@Abraham Johnathan Good to remember that despite the potential of a victim getting their money back, they still had to go through a lot of turmoil and suffering. Theft, even if someone gets their money back, still can cause a heck of a lot of problems. In Diengos case I would expect all such points to get covered during the court process, as courts are not supposed to operate on the if's, but the what's. So what happened, how much harm did it really do, and such and such.
That emotional disconnect in my opinion is just as bad as if it were personal. Like, how could one just sit there and be ready to subject millions of people to unknown amounts of chaos and suffering without feeling a thing? To be so dulled to the suffering of others speaks to big time problems. Though, to be clear, when it comes to rehabilitation it is not so much about what someone did (though realizing what one did, and taking full responsibility for it is a big part of the process of rehabilitation, as I understood it anyway as I aint an expert naturally), but more about them as a person. So it's very hard to broad brush stroke people based on what they would be sentenced for, as that really may not correlate to how willing they are to change, or work on their problems, nor how serious these problems are. It's a case by case sort of thing. It depends on the person. A bank robber has just as much chance thus than a cybercriminal, though this depends much on do they want to change. Even if they don't, it's still worth offering the chance to and continuing to offer it because hey, it's better for everyone.
Not gunna lie, I've been working in the IT field since 2007 and I thought that I was pretty decent.
However, Since I've been watching your videos, it's encouraged me to be a lot more aware of my moves on the internet. This is a wild and dangerous world man!

One thing I love is that Crumb tries his best to keep his personal opinions out of his reporting on these kinds of things. I feel that too often we dehumanize criminals. Many criminals are clearly not great people and have done awful things, but it doesn’t mean there isn’t more angles in which to view their stories. Crumb does very well at shedding some light on those different angles, or at least suggesting them to make viewers think a bit more about them.
@Abraham Johnathan 100% agreed
now if only more people think like this 👍
I respect that he basically told the feds who he was, where he is and what he's doing, but on the same hand the feds can't do anything.

Amazing video!!!!. It's awesome that you've branched out from OSRS to general cyber crime documentaries. I love it!
Thank you for making a video about this I’ve been trying to call these people out for so long, honestly back in the day when I was back in high school I did use raid forums and seen some of the raids at the time I didn’t really know what was going on or really knew any better at first and just stopped using the site altogether when I found out what the people running the site were actually doing, they would get ahold of peoples stream key and play pornographic content getting people banned and they did this constantly to as many people as they possibly could and eventually I completely forgot about it
Getting Moot voted as #1 person of the year was just the tip of the iceberg. People were voted in underneath him such that their ranking and the first letter of their name would spell out "MARBLECAKEALSOTHEGAME". That takes some serious coordination 😂
